Very good food and service, Lamb on the Rod is delicious, along with everything else!!

Obviously they are having a bad day. Nowhere near as good as usual. Single waitress was busy but didn't seem overwhelmed. Total of 2 tables when we walked in and another 3 arrived as those 2 left. Ordered 2 lamb salads, 1 medium rare and 1 medium well with no olives. Kitchen reversed them so the medium rare had no olives. Took over 20 minutes for the food to come out and it wasn't right. We didn't complain and just dealt with it. Waitress never stopped at the table for soda refills or to check on us. Not even once. If it wasn't for the fact their lamb is spectacular, would not be back. read more

I was referred by a local priest. Coming from a funeral, I was way over dressed. It is a very casual establishment. The restaurant/bar is located in the middle of a neighborhood. Street and lot parking are available. The reuben was good. The jalapeño poppers were really hot. The stuffed grape leaves were very good. I am accustomed to short sqaut stuffed grape leaves. The long skinny version was full of flavor. Unfortunately, the fries didn't travel well. While waiting for my to go order, I observed many people enjoying the fries. Cedars is a great spot for a beer and dinner or lunch. Have eaten here a few times with Linda, and we both love it. The service is great, ate in the dining room this time. Just so we could relax. I got the lamb and chicken dinner over rice. Linda got the Lamb Dish which has cheese melted into it. You can't go wrong with anything at Cedars, but we generally get the lamb because it's so good. You can eat at the bar too if you want. And they have a #### ton of draft beers, at a nice reasonable price. Never had anything but good service and delicious food every time we've been here. Went for Mothers Day 2024 and it was empty when we arrived. The food took FOREVER to come out, the server was incredibly terrible. The kitchen staff was talking very loudly about our table and order. It was not great. Went back again to see if it was a fluke and the wings had more sauce than meat. It was underwhelmed. Typical bar ambiance. read more

Cedars is always a solid choice. Almost everything on the menu is good. I've been here so many times and had pretty much everything. All I can say is it's a good place to go and meet with friends, grab a drink and get a bite to eat. Or even just get dinner or lunch with your significant other. I normally get the cedars special (double cheese burger on Syrian bread) or the Reuben. Their wings are very good. Also you can't go wrong with lamb or chicken on the rod with the garlic and pepper sauce. Like a said I could go on and on, you just gotta go there. read more

Good bar food...very filling for a decent price. We were in area when traveling to see family and decided to stop for dinner. Note to newcomers, walk in from the parking lot onto ramp. Atmosphere is very local bar...everything was quite clean. The special for the night were wings, and there are specials every night. We had the chopped sirloin sandwich and the angus burger. Both were very satisfying and came with a heap of French fries ( not crispy but tasty) servers hustled, lots of laughter and conversation in this local establishment.# read more

We dined in on 7/21/24. Service was horrible. The waitress was running around between us and bar, never received any refills, only visited table when giving us food, and then 15 minutes later the bill. Food was COLD (After waiting over 30 minutes for it). All 3 of our dishes... raviolis were still cold in center of both meals, sauce on top was luke warm, sandwich was warm as well. Not to mention the flies that were hovering around us which made it non-enjoyable. They also charged us $2.50 for a cup of water. And they had a customer helping them take orders, take away dishes and drinks. To top off our terrible experience, they were BLASTING "Scream-O" music from the kitchen and we heard it from where we were sitting. Unacceptable! Will not be returning. read more

It admittedly doesn't look like much from the outside, but this really is the place to go! Food was delicious, they were prompt, the menu was diverse, and the waitress was really nice. I got the eggplant sandwich, my husband got wings, and our friend got the meatball sub (which is huuuuge). The portions were very generous. I'm happy we found this place! read more

Every time we come home, the in-laws take us to Cedars. I'll be honest, the lamb sandwich is incredible. However not my cup of tea. Their lamb on a rod is top notch as well. Basically anything they have listed in the menu with lamb, is going to be a winner. I typically go with the lamb salad. Basically because I love French fries with my salad and since I moved to Tampa Florida, any time I order a salad I have to order a side of fries. This results in me paying way to much for a salad in Florida. So when I'm home, I order the salad and get it the way they should be made. The beer is always cold and has great taste. The place has been remodeled and holds more people now then ever. The food is that good. I will say at times I personally am not a fan of the staff, typically they seem like they don't want to be bothered. Sorry about your luck, it's your job. You don't like it, find another. But again, we go for the food because it speaks for itself. read more

The ambience leaves a lot to be desired and there is only one restroom in the facility (hence the 4 stars). However, the food is great! SO DISAPPOINTING!!! Brought friends from outta town. Filthy dirty! We ordered our lamb rare and out came out well done... when we told server we weren't happy with how tough and burnt our dinners were she was rude and said "I don't cook it". A woman thwn appeared that may have been a manager and said they don't do lamb rare because 'it's against the health codes" .. Bullshit because we have ordered it rare for years there. For 20 mins weeks sat with no food and the owner and server and cook had a loud conversation about how New Castle people are all bipolar and bitch and moan and complain. This is so disappointing and thought New Castle maybe had progreased a bit and had become a bit more educated. Sadly, this is not the case here... Our check was $70 for 3 meals ... none of which we ate... The server and manager and cooks looked as though they hadn't bathed in weeks and owner looked stung out on something. My husband is a state cop and patrols that area and mentioned it has become a drug bar... so now I understand. I wouldn't go back and will post this on all local availabilities. Don't waste your time or $$$. A disgrace to the city of New Castle. So disappointing.... Also, bathroom was disgusting and had NO papertowels OR SOAP ...... DISGUSTING!!! Lamb is GREAT. Every single time it is solid and does not disappoint. Reminds me of the Bible when they would sacrifice lamb and God would approve of the lamb served here. Tender as heck every time. This place is a blessing to New Castle and a bright spot. And the bread is good enough to be served at the Last Supper. Literally perfection in the form of carbs. For crying out loud Gordon Ramsey would love this place! And the waiters are so good they keep asking me how my surgery went and how I am. These people are saints.
