There was no way we were staying in that house all night with my 11 month old baby and dogs. I was either getting us all a hotel room, or with any luck, track down an HVAC company in short notice. I called 10 different companies (all highly rated on yelp) and left detailed voicemails. Kevin, the owner of TX Star Srvs, was the ONLY company to return my call. Not only did he return my call, he did so within 25 minutes of my call, and arrived at my house 30 minutes after that. TALK ABOUT A+ AFTER-HOURS SERVICE! He was very pleasant, professional, and understanding of my plight, having kids himself, he knew that there would be no way a baby could sleep in our house that night. In ~45 minutes, he had the problem diagnosed, FIXED, and the AC blasting again. I knew that I would have to pay extra for the after-hours emergency AC house-visit, but I think it was a fair price at the end of it, and definitely worth every penny. He had great ideas and was very personable. My project was to add a 60 AMP subpanel to a new outbuilding and wire the building with lights, outlets, and an A/C - Heater circuit. My expectations were exceeded with the look of the wiring metal conduit. It all took about 8 hours to complete, and the total cost of the job was much, much, lower than those large commercial companies, and everything that was done met all county and state electrical codes. Fixed that but have returned multiple times to keep issuing same resolution of more freon added. System will go a few days until it can't keep up with set point. Secondary line now drains when it never did. Did not replace my filter dryer after opening my system. Last visit they told me it was outside coils being dirty. Why is that all of a sudden an issue 2 weeks later? Left a hole in the top of my air handler after that visit. Overall, they have caused me to miss/leave work multiple times to meet them in hopes they will fix it that time. I'm tired of being hot and frustrated. Shocking thing is that they came well recommended. Such a shame!
