Nothing much beats outlet mall shopping, birria tacos, and churros!! One of the highlights of the Airport Outlet mall, Hugo's serves up fresh tacos and other treat! The quesaabirria tacos hit the spot and are proper filling. The service is always quick and friendly, and the place is kept clean even in busy peak periods. There is no washroom on site, but it's located only footsteps away in the mall area. Of all the food options in the outlet mall, this is our go-to.

bummer of an experience here because we love the Langley location (if they're affiliated - if not please disregard linking them.) Restaurant has no heating (just an FYI) and opens the doors. Pigeons were coming in and out and staff didn't seem to make effort to shoo them away. Tables were sticky. Ordered fish taco (taco Tuesday special) - was enjoyable but nothing to write home about. Nachos - do not get. They are cold old chips and just queso/tomatoes/jalapeños. Small serving size and felt like the crumbs of the bag Chicken quesadilla - was fine. Side of rice - originally was old, cold and stale. We had to ask the server if this was normal and she said "oh" and took it back. Then she brought a new one that tasted a thousand times better. End of it all - it was a disappointing trip and I would not have tipped (order and pay at counter then sit down) how we did having received poor service and food.

Hugo's Churros & Tacos 7899 Templeton Station Road, Richmond, BC V7B 0B7 Nestled within the McArthurGlen Designer Outlet near Vancouver Airport, Hugo's Churros & Tacos is a small eatery that promises a taste of authentic Mexican cuisine. Known for its handcrafted dishes and bold flavors, it offers a delightful culinary escape amidst a busy shopping day. Food Fish Tacos The fish tacos feature two flour tortillas filled with beer-battered seasonal fish, chile guajillo adobo, shaved lettuce, pico de gallo, pickled onions, Serrano dressing, and guajillo aioli. The combination of the crispy fish and vibrant toppings resulted in a well-balanced and flavorful bite. The freshness of the ingredients was evident, and the layering of textures and flavors was masterfully done. Rating: 9/10 Quesabirria The quesabirria was the highlight of the meal and a dish I would highly recommend. Tender, slow-cooked beef, melted Oaxaca cheese, and a perfectly grilled tortilla came together in perfect harmony, with a rich, savory broth served on the side for dipping. The depth of flavor and the balance of textures were truly remarkable. This may very well be one of the best quesabirrias I've ever tasted. Rating: 10/10 Churros The churros were light and crispy on the outside, with a soft and airy interior, dusted generously with cinnamon sugar. While the flavors were enjoyable, the experience was slightly diminished by the fact that the churros were not served hot. That said, the chocolate and caramel dipping sauces complemented them nicely, adding an extra layer of indulgence. Rating: 7/10 Drinks Hot Chocolate The hot chocolate was satisfactory but lacked the richness and depth expected from such a beverage. On the other hand, the horchata was a standout recommendation. Its creamy texture and perfectly balanced sweetness made it an ideal pairing with the meal. Service The service was friendly and efficient, with staff who were warm and attentive. They ensured that the food was served promptly and that the dining experience was enjoyable from start to finish. Rating: 8/10 Ambiance Hugo's is a cozy space with a casual, welcoming atmosphere. The décor reflects its Mexican roots, but the space could benefit from a slight refresh to enhance its appeal. The lively music added a vibrant energy, making the experience more enjoyable despite the limited seating and small size of the venue. Rating: 7/10 Price The prices are slightly on the higher side, especially for a casual eatery. However, the quality of the food, particularly standout dishes like the quesabirria and fish tacos, makes it a worthwhile indulgence. Verdict Hugo's Churros & Tacos is a gem for those seeking fresh, authentic Mexican flavors in a casual setting. The food, particularly the exceptional quesabirria, shines with its bold and balanced flavors. While the space could use some minor updates and the churros fell short of their full potential, the overall experience was delightful. Whether you're shopping at McArthurGlen or simply craving high-quality Mexican cuisine, Hugo's is worth a visit.

Mexican gig in the heart of McArthur Glen outlet. Not so big and not so small restaurant with few tables outside. Spanish inspired decor, walls are painted with pastel colors and bright yellow making the place looks big and so clean. Kinda busy when I came but service is still okay. Cash and card accepted. Mexican soda available: I got the tacos "A flight of anythree .... a pop and churros with dipping sauce. Few options for tacos I ordered the following; Beef barbacoa- slow cooked braise beef served with onions, cilantro, radishes and lime wedge. Carne Asada grilled beef steak And Chorizo c papas- tofu -chorizo grilled with potatoes, topped with lemon, cashew, crema pickled onions and cilantro Delish tacos but not the best in town, hard tacos is not available which I gezz less points for clients reviewing. My churros dessert is average in taste. Market Value;Affordable Not a bad place for snacks while shopping. Good for small group and kids friendly. Parking is never a problem. With commuters its okay as well because train station is just by the outlet entrance.

My niece had been visiting from the UK and wanted to have an early dinner before boarding her plane to go back home. She expressed an interest in Mexican food so we took her to Hugo's Churros and Tacos at the McArthurGlen Outlet since it's so closeby to the airport. She had a Burrito Bowl while the rest of us had an assortment of tacos (except for my little girl who had a cheese quesadilla), and we all shared some churros for dessert.  Burrito Bowl: My niece had a burrito bowl at TacoTime earlier during her trip and she was quite happy with that already. She said the Burrito Bowl at Hugo's Churros and Tacos was even better!  Tacos:  We had various meat and plant based tacos on our table. Most of them were just OK. We've had better tacos elsewhere. The one taco that stood out for me though was the Nopales taco, which is grilled cactus. It would have never occurred to me that cactus might actually be edible! This was the first time I'd ever seen cactus on a menu. The prickles were removed, and I quite enjoyed eating my Nopales taco. In all honesty, I'm not sure if it's really because I enjoyed the taste or if it was more of a placebo effect. (ie.Perhaps it was just the novelty of the experience which made it taste good.) I give them marks for creativity since I've never been to any other restaurant that served cactus on their menu.  Cheese Quesadilla: Cheesy and gooey as it should be! Churros: We had our churros with caramel dip and chocolate dip. They were a bit too dry, and quite disappointing. Costco in Bellingham does better churros than what we had at Hugo's. In their defense though, they were perhaps just having an "off" day. We have been to Hugo's Churros and Tacos before, and the churros were quite good the last time we came.  Drinks: We had some of their bottled Jarritos drinks and a Coconut Horchata. First time I've had Coconut Horchata. I think I prefer regular Horchata, but the Coconut Horchata was still enjoyable. It was our little girl's first time trying Horchata and she loved it.  Service: Fair (It's not really the kind of restaurant where you order and get served. You pick up your food at the counter and bring it to your own table.) Parking: Plentiful and free! Location: Convenient if you need to be near the airport. Situated amongst the European styled shops of McArthurGlen Outlet; hence, charming even if you don't need to be near the airport! Things were a bit of a hit and miss this time round, but since there was some good food and drinks, and since as I said I havn't seen cactus on a menu before, I would say that this restaurant is worth trying. I wouldn't go out of my way to come here. (Unless you're seriously itching to try cactus!) If I happened to be shopping at the outlet though, and wanted to stop for a bite to eat...I might give this place another try.

Was around April where patio dine ins were the options, gladly we found one table ready to be emptied so we decided to get the chance to sit down and try hugo's menu. We had the tri tacos, fish taco, quesadillas, churro taco and churro sandwich for dessert. I honestly find their tacos delicious, I love how fresh the ingredients and the tacos were tasty. The quesadillas was so fun to eat, so cheesy yet crunchy, you can do some awesome cheese pull in every bite. In about 10-15 minutes desserts were served, I find it huge actually churros where freshly made it was warm and crunchy it goes so well with the gelato ice cream. I think one serving of the gelato bowl is good to share for two to three people. Went home with the Taco loco which I had the next day, it was served crunchy, but since I had it the next day it did sog but still the taste was fresh and delicious. Through Ig, I saw they had a new dessert which is the churro taco ice cream, luckily I had the chance again to be in the area so I went try their new ice cream, taste the same and the experience was fun since the churro is in taco version so every bite gets a little messy with crumbs, awesome combination of crispy taco and ice cream, but again its little bit messy. Lastly, for the price I think its reasonable especially for the fresh tacos, for the ice creams churros I recommend the churro bowl.

    Burrito Bowl

After having a long day of Shopping, my wife and I were hungry and wanted to eat something relative healthier. We stepped into Hugo'a tacos and ordered a Burrito Bowl. Being Vegetarians, they had 4 different fillings and we opted for beer battered cauliflowers as the main filing. The rice and beans were filled with flavor and we added a spicy sauce to make the flavors burst. Overall, loved the bowl. It is slightly pricier for a bowl but cheaper than your shopping stuff and more importantly it is delicious than Chipotle.

For valentines day, wife ordered some heart shaped churros to go from Hugos...and i never expected to find one of the best mexican street tacos in Vancouver. This place is truly a hidden gem! Tucked away at the yvr outlet mall, let me tell ya, you'd be hard-pressed To find a taco place as good as this. It can give good ole saly limon a good run for is money. They have a few choices only, but they do it good! Very close to the real tacos being sold on the streets of mexico. I ordered a flight of 3...grilled chicken, grilled steak, and the pork with pineapple marinade. All i can say is wow! Chicken was grilled perfectly and so was the steak. Seasoned well and served hot, full with smoky flavour. the pork was soooo tender but could use more pineapple essence. Each taco came with a lime wedge, and garnished with the basic onion and cilantro and served with a creamy avocado dip with garlic aioli which was so good. The churros were fried perfectly and tasted so good. Nice crunch/moisture profile. Came with a dip, which i think was condensed milk. Yes, it is a bit pricier than most places. But its very good! They also have mexican pop. Love it! Service was quick and with a smile. Cheers! Happy eating!

    Quesadilla with beef

This review is just for the Quesadilla with beef. It was $15.50 which seemed a bit pricey compared to the burrito but it was actually really good. The meat was so juicy and flavourful! Maybe a tad saltier than I'd like but it was still good. Also love that there was a bit of a cheese skirt on it. Will need to try their churros next time!

Are you craving yummy freshly made churros coated with cinnamon sugar ? Maybe with some ice cream with it to get a perfect mix ? If you are answer is yes then avoid this place because it is offering exactly the opposite of what you are looking for! Dry cold 4 pieces of churros with cheap quality of ice cream , that s exactly what we got when we ordered the churros bowl. The place is nicely decorated and the location is great within a quite busy outlet other than that we felt like we just wasted our money. Hopefully the other menu items are not as bad as the churros

There's no better food than those that are delish and completely hands on! I recently visited Hugo's and got to enjoy some Fish Taco and Beef Barbacoa Burrito and am quite surprised the food at Mcarthurglen outlet is pretty decent with the convenience of shopping too! There was a constant line up and the food is quick to serve! The salsa is quite unique here with a more savoury flavour and creamy texture - went really well with the fish taco! It's a really great option for a shopping fuel up and. Compared too food court/fast food options at your usual shopping center this really beats them!

    Horchata (not on the menu)
    Benson W.

Grub: Quesadillas with Chicken Filling $15.50, and SIDES Beans $3.00 Quenched: Horchata (don't see on the menu) Taste: The food itself was great. The picture shows one quesadillas when in fact it's two, one on top of each other. Nice texture and enjoyed the shredded chicken. Good softness of the flour wrapped bread-like. Their Horchata drink tastes more like a coconut drink, unfortunately this is not what I expected, but if you like a coconut-like drink, you will likely like this drink. I have made my own homemade version of Horchata and it tastes pretty good. This restaurant deserves a REPEAT for it's Quesadillas. Plus once I received my order, I was wondering where my BEANS were. I pretty sure I had ordered the beans on the side. And there's definitely no beans in my quesadillas so it was for a side dish. I asked and they apologized and I received it. But I THINK they might have been given me more beans, but that's only my guess. I ate here and afterwards, requested to order for take-out....but their electronic tablets were down. I would have given more STARS if they provided a solution like still take my order and could pay in cash if their debit/credit cards transactions were down. I saw a few customers who walked in and out and were not even acknowledged about their presence. I hope the tablets down was a one-time thing and not a common thing.

I think its a 3.5 stars for me. We have ordered takeout today since I am craving churros badly. * Three Tacos($12.75) : we have chose Chicken Tinga, Beef barbacoa, and Pork Carnitas. I like the pork one the most as they have added pineapple to balance out the saltiness. However, the taco shells were soggy and broken because of takeout. Too bad. I think it would be better to eat it right away when served. * Guacamole and Chips($6.50): Guacsmole tastes homemade and chips are crunchy. * Churro Bowl($8.50): Impressive! Really like their churro. They are sweet and crispy. It's fried so it's a bit oily, but the grease level just right. Love the vanilla ice cream that paired with the churro. Highly recommend to give their churro bowl a try if you like sweets.

Food was honestly flavourless when it comes to Mexican food standards. Not worth the price, had as much flavour as boiled meat.

However, they extended the dine out period till Feb 28, so we took the chance. The restaurant is tucked inside a quiet mall. It is dark with walls decorated with wine bottles and quirky paintings. I chose their Bone Marrow + wagyu Tartare for starter, Crab + Prawn Rigatoni for main, and smoked caramel cheesecake for dessert. The starter and dessert were alright, not particularly impressive. The Crab + Prawn Rigatoni was delicious. There was a decent amount of crab meat and prawns. The sauce was supposed to be salted duck yolk cream, but it didn't taste like salted duck yolk at all to me. However, it was still pretty good. It was creamy and rich, and went well with the seafood and pasta. The portion was generous and the pasta became a bit too salty in the last few bites. Two of my friends ordered the 2-scope ice-cream for dessert and the server let us know early on that the flavors would come randomly (there were 4 flavors on the menu). One of my friends asked if she could get peach cream yogurt for both scoops. The server was pretty helpful and said she'll see what she can do but no guarantee. While we had our main course, we saw other tables all had chocolate ice-cream + peach cream yogurt as dessert so we figured they were the two flavors of the day. At the end, the server did give my friend two scoops of peach cream yogurt. However, my other friend got two scoops of chocolate ice-cream instead of both flavors! We appreciated that the server tried her best to satisfy one of us' request! But it was by sacrificing the other's interest! My other friend didn't really mind but it was pretty hilarious! Overall I think the dine out menu was a great deal. This restaurant was comfortable and was a good place for friends to catch up and hang out.

The entrance is completely unmarked, with darkened windows and no signage; you literally have to decide whether to push or pull your way into the gloom, which fits the "thief" theme perfectly once you step inside. The food is where things really land. Frog legs arrive as the star curiosity and end up tasting strikingly familiar--so much so they echo the famed chicken wings from Anh and Chi in both comfort and flavour. The beef tartare is properly seasoned and genuinely delicious, rich but balanced enough that it never feels heavy. Ox tail is a unique inclusion on the menu and it follows through, offering deep, slow-cooked flavour that stands out even among the stronger dishes. Duck breast is cooked to a textbook pink, tender and juicy, an easy "order again" plate. Dessert keeps the momentum going. An oolong peach creation acts as the perfect finishing touch: fragrant, slightly floral, and just sweet enough to close the meal without tipping into cloying territory. Service and atmosphere reinforce the sense of a discreet drinking den--this is the place you duck into for a properly made drink and a series of small plates, not a high-traffic scene bar. With nothing to complain about--from food to vibe--The Good Thief feels like a well-executed concept: a hidden, unmarked bolthole where you slip in from the dark, linger over excellent plates, and slip back out just as quietly.
