Add as much of the noodles, rice and heavy sauces you like. I love the sauce options, you can flavor it however you like. If you eat bland food at HuHot, you missed the sauce and spice section. Trying to stay professional on my review Service is maybe like 1 star. Waiter asked the table behind us if they were full and wanted their check after their first trip. Same waiter for us seemed attentive but food brought to us was not warm Who ever owns this chain if restaurants needs to go visit a Mongolian Grill and try again. The Waffle House spatulas is not the preferred cooking tool. Burning the food and just letting it sit on the black iron is not cooking. The rice came out to us pretty much cold. Not sticky or even room temp. I have cooked instant rice better in microwaves. The selection of food to cook is minimal and not very fresh. Stop putting carrots in egg drop soup. It's very simple. On the night of Wednesday, November 13, 2024, Hu Hot's Assistant Manager Jeannie Engel perfectly handled our tour group of Los Angeles 7th graders for a spectacular meal at Hu Hot! As you can imagine, keeping a bus load of 13-year old students happy with dinner is a monumental task, but the Hu Hot crew handled all their requests expertly and enthusiasm. Another employee tried helping her and she was so rude to them. Also how unprofessional when she would come and complain to MY TABLE AND FAMILY (her customers!!) about how her manager doesn't do anything besides sit around. That's crazy! The employees who tried helping her should find a different job if Hu Hot keeps around terrible employees like Cindy. HuHot Mongolian Grill is a regional chain with a location in Rapid City near Target. They are an expanded Mongolian BBQ place with lots of options and sauces plus other options. Parking is generous but shared with other businesses. The concept is simple. Choose your noodles. Choose your protein. Add some veggies and sauce and watch them grill. HuHot has a wide variety of all options which makes their AYCE option great as long as you don't fill up too much. I tried a few options with pork and seafood and various spicy sauces. My combinations weren't that impressive having to add a lot of heat just to get some flavor. It's not the worst Mongolian I've had but it's not the best. Fortunately the staff and interior were great. There are probably better Asian restaurants in the area, but sometimes you crave that Mongolian BBQ experience. I had never been to a restaurant like HuHot and I wish I had never gone and wasted my money. The food was horrific, all of the sauces were super salty and the grill area counter was so gross. Our waitress was horrible, she disappeared almost the entire time we were there. I knew it still existed, but I didn't think we'd receive it at an establishment like this. The discrimination we received from our waitress, Jennifer, was so uncomfortable. She attended every other table around us MULTIPLE times. We had to wave her down to simply get straws. We had to watch her go to every other table around us asking if everyone was okay, if they needed anything else.. all while we waited over 15 minutes for a basic refill on our drinks. This was an excellent dining experience during our visit to the Rapid City, SD community a few weeks ago. We was wanting to find something and it was kinda late around 8pm. I was able to search Google and Yelp for restaurants open and with good reviews. Once I found this restaurant and I called ahead to ensure what their business hours were at the time. I spoke with a very friendly female who confirmed that they were still open for another hour, so I decided to give them a try. This is a buffet style restaurant in which you seat yourself, and you pay approximately $15 per person for all you can eat. All the staff was complying by the COVID-19 pandemic precautions. All the food was fresh and after being prepared tasted very good. I would definitely return for another visit, and I would recommend this place to friends and family members. read more

We stopped here on our way thru Rapid City. I do not recommend the crab Rangoon. We actually called for a manager and had it taken off. They arrived cold and we did not like the taste. The sweet and sour sauce they served was like goooo. The pot stickers were ok. I would not order them again. Where this place excels is the Mongolian grill. Grab two bowls, fill it with all the meet and stuff you can get in then. Fill them with the many sauces and they go to town. Depending on the sauces you mix you get a great flavor. Use lots of sauce. Wow! I was blown away by this place. I have been to other HuHut locations and their competitor chain Gengis Grill but none of those places held up to the standard of this location. My husband and I visited here while on vacation in the area. We had spent our day hiking and wanted someing delicious, easy, and filling because we were starving. This place provided us the perfect dinner and could have not been any more wonderful. HuHut is a build your own plate, buffet style restaurant that serves asian inspired noodle dishes. You grab a bowl, fill it with your desired noodles, meat, veggies, sauces and then hand it to the cook. Your food is then cooked on a huge hibachi grill and ready for you to eat in just a few minutes. After you eat your first bowl you are able to continue to repeat this process until you are satisfied. What I love about this place is how you can get your fill of veggies and lean meat. There are so many vegetables to choose from and the sauces are not overly salty like many are. This allows you to leave here full while still eating a pretty healthy dinner! The service at this location is amazing. You can tell that the employees care and everyone was friendly. The cook on the grill did an awesome job of cooking our bowls and the meat was cooked to perfection. Our experience here was absolutely wonderful and was a great way to end our evening. read more

Hats up to the 12-3pm Hibachi cook.. Always with a cheerful attitude despite the workload of fresh batches from customers of the restaurant.. The Veggie selection was great, i am tired of the traditional salmon with a few veggies or Burgers, wings even Brocolli with beef from other restaurants and fast food. I will never be going here again! My very Native American looking Dad has gone to this place multiple times. Spends his money here all the time and every time he's gone the cook at the grill always singles him out. He will take his food and throw it on the thing and then won't even ever attend to it. I usually love huhot, but this was a terrible experience. I understand that help is hard to find, but this particular huhot was filthy. There was food and sauce all over the floor by the buffet and around the sauces and the cooking station. There was one kid who was "cleaning but just seemed to be pushing sauces into other sauces with the rag he was using. I saw this same kid try to sweep some of the food, stopped, didn't wash his hands and then went and refilled the food buffet. I watched him go from one to the other. He touched the tongs used for food with his gloves he used to wash up and sweep. Not only was that filthy, but our server kept moving their mask and playing with their nose piercing while taking our order. There is no point to the mask if you're going to touch your face. My son used the restroom and there was no soap. How are the employees washing their hands with no soap. I watched one of the men cooking drop a water bottle on the floor, pick it up for them to continue using. He touched where the bottle fell, didn't wash his hand and then continued to prepare and handle food. On top of all of this I noticed that one of the dishwashers was collecting dirty dishes that had contained raw meat and then went and brought out clean dishes to serve food on. I am hoping someone reads this review and addresses these issues before someone gets sick. read more

Service was great. Price was good. Ambiance was great. A couple negative things were that the sauces were not labeled correctly so it was hard to know what was what. Also every Mongolian grill I have been to has fresh meat. The meat there is frozen and who knows how long it's been there as I saw freezer burn on a lot of it. Whole family enjoyed the fresh options at this restaurant. Hostess took a bit to seat us at a cleaned table. Waitress was ok and took drink order promptly. However their iced tea was super weak and I had to ask for a different beverage. The food was tasty with lots of options. The guys working the grill were super nice too. In fact we had a nice chat with one of the men there. Just an ice guy! Also this place was clean. From the frozen meats in the Mongolian BBQ line to the bathrooms. You put raw food in bowls and they put the cooked food on a plate so there is no mix up (I have had a bad experience with another Mongolia bbq place putting cooked food back in the same bowl the raw food was in!) nicely done.
