After touring the nearby Downton Abbey exhibit we decided to check off a place on both our bookmarks so we headed to Hullabaloo. I had actually never been to Clematis Street before and now I wonder what took me so long. It's filled with historic buildings, street art, and funky fun places to eat. To add the cherry to the top we even found free street parking. Hullabaloo bills itself as a trendy gastropub. We didn't have reservations so we were shut out of the patio area with it's sweet Airstream trailer which is where I really wanted to eat. The party was back there with a DJ spinning the tracks. With the choice of eating on the sidewalk or the bar we picked the bar where we were warmly greeted. The menu is a hipsters paradise of contemporary ingredients like pork belly, brioche buns, and heirloom tomatoes. We had a choice of brunch or lunch and we decided to just share a charcuterie platter and the turkey meatballs. The turkey meatballs were amazing. They were served in a red sauce with a dollop of ricotta and I inhaled them. The charcuterie had cured meats, whole garlic, bread, mustard, honey, cucumbers, and some strong cheeses. It was okay but I wasn't fond of all of the choices. I had a mimosa which everyone seemed to be drinking. I could have gotten bottomless for $15 but I just couldn't go there. They also offer a selection of craft beers and cocktails and they have a wood fire oven to grill up some tantalizing looking pizzas. The downside to the restaurant is it is tight. It's like a long rectangle. I could barely make it to the bathroom and past that to the outdoor area. I also saw kids running around that almost took out servers who couldn't see them below in the cramped quarters. It would be best to make a reservation if you want a table or especially if your heart is set on eating outside in the vintage trailer. Hullabaloo means a public protest, a great noise, excitement, and commotion. Not sure about the excitement, but there certainly was a lot of noise on a Sunday afternoon for a recent lunch. I came here with a girlfriend after a visit to City Place to see the Downton Abbey exhibit. It was nearby. It was open on Sunday. They served lunch -- not just brunch. And it was on both of our bookmarked list of restaurants. Bingo. We found parking nearby -- metered, but no charge on a Sunday and walked over. On entry, we were asked if we had a reservation. No. Didn't think we'd need one. The back patio (which I never saw but heard about) was appealing, but fully occupied by a private birthday party celebration. The one open two-top table was outside and in the hot sun. So, we opted for the only open two seats at the bar. Hey, the place was packed and popular. I actually like sitting at the bar in a restaurant. It's communal. You get to see what everyone is eating and talk to the locals. There were children in the restaurant so it was a bit strange to see the couple making out aggressively a few seats away. Another couple primly sitting next to them seemed on a first date. The guy to my right was alone, enjoying shrimp and grits, and came by here regularly. Was the people watching the "exciting" part? The restaurant advertises itself as a trendy gastropub with Italian influences. It might be trying a bit too hard. Meanwhile, the server at the bar was nice and friendly and chatty. And there were no problems with our order. They have a brunch menu as well as a lunch menu. We decided to order a couple items and share. We started with the fire roasted chicken meatballs. They came with tomato sauce, a dollop of creamy ricotta cheese, and a piece of toast topped with pesto sauce. The meatballs were good. Next, we had their smaller charcuterie board. They offer a medium and a large size, but this was rather skimpy. I didn't care for most of it -- a cheddar type cheese, a way too hard and very dry Parmesan (? Not sure), an overly strong blue cheese past it's prime, and a few unidentifiable meats (2 thin slices of each) -- one maybe salami, a ham?, and something else. There was a pile of very large whole garlic cloves, a small mound of grainy mustard, 3 thin slices of cucumber (pickles?), and a small ramekin of honey. With this came 4 slices of bread. We left most of the plate untouched. Okay. So I've come, I've seen, I've eaten. And now I know. It's more of a "see and be seen" kind of place for the in crowd. Got it. read more

Hullabaloo is a very slept on gem in my opinion. Most people pass by and don't even know what they're missing out on. Hullabaloo has such a great variety of food to choose from. There are many healthy options as well. Brunch is a must!!! I got the breakfast calzone and it was simply amazing !! The bottomless mimosas were also great but drink responsibly please !!! Overall the vibe of hullabaloo is great! If you're going with a lager group I would advise to make a reservation ahead of time, and try to get the big "airstream" camper in the back. When you think of Hullabaloo, think of a New York City loft meets Little Italy. A 1,700-square-foot establishment that features decor that is minimalist and clean. Had a nice dinner last night on Clematis at this hip Italian gastropub called Hullabaloo. This place was fairly small and packed. Luckily we didn't wait too long and were seated in the backyard with nice lighting. The sun was setting on this rainy day. On our side, there was an extra set of lights that they turned on as it got darker. After 10 minutes the power tripped and these lights cut off. An employee turned the switch back on but cut it off after a minute again. Then a customer switched it on and it cut off after another minute. This went on about 10x as they took turns switching it back on. Pretty hilarious. The food is very good here and most of the meals are cooked on a wood-fired oven. Had a hard time ordering because I tried to choose something from their yelp pics but it wouldn't be on their menu. Their menu seems to change often. We ended up with: Roast Pork Sandwich - which was delish. It came with some interesting Zucchini Chips. Both the sandwich and the zucchini chips came with their own dips. Scallop and Shrimp Risotto - overall delicious especially the scallops. The shrimps were mixed into the risotto. Very good and tasty. Roasted Pork & Porcini Mushroom Risotto - this one was very similar to the scallop and shrimp risotto but with roasted pork and mushroom instead. Bread Pudding - was incredible 5/5. I would come back for this alone. Hullabaloo's Happy Hour is from 4-7pm daily. Street parking is free after 7pm. We parked right in front. read more

Hullabaloo is a trendy gastrobar with an Italian flair located in the middle of busy Clematis Street. The decor is minimalist and clean with leather booths and white tables. The bar space is small but cozy. The menu looked so good that I wanted to try almost everything. By the bar, Christina was friendly and attentive. The wine selection is very good by the glass, however, I found it to be a bit pricey. Most of the wines listed could be $2 to $3 cheaper. I did enjoy a few glasses of Primitivo and Nero D'avola. They also have an extensive selection of whiskeys. For dinner, we ordered a few plates to share. The guava garlic wings ($12) were very delicious. Sweet and spicy and perfectly cooked. A must try if you love wings like I do! The crispy shrimps ($14) were also very tasty. They were crunchy and not over battered topped with roasted corn salsa, honey habanero aioli and avocado crema. You can actually see and taste the shrimps not just the batter. Yummy! The fire-roasted brussels sprouts ($8) were nicely cooked. They offer happy hour from 4pm to 7pm. The steamed littleneck clams during happy hour is a small plate but very tasty. Everything we ordered was delicious and the staff was great. They were playing good music so it was easy to enjoy our time by the bar even though it was very small. Will definitely come back for some wings on my next visit to WPB! read more

There aren't enough words to express how amazing Hullabaloo is. Every single item on their menu is simply mouthwatering. Start with their Brussels sprouts, Chicken Meatballs or Shrimp. Low key Italian restaurant located on clematis downtown west palm beach. This is a nice place to go to to take your mom or on a date I mean I respect the menu they do have steak and other unique dishes like the zucchini fries with the orange dip was nice. This spot to me is not super upscale and not too average I would say as far as class and on the fancy scale out of 10 I would give it a solid 6.8/7. It's subpar to average at best nothing really stands out about this place but the location and the ambiance around it. It's pretty tightly packed seems like it's always full has good cocktails but like I said before nothing particular stood out to me other than sitting outside on a lovely night. The crispy shrimp was pretty good though! 9/10 - Short ribs - 7/10 it's a cool spot to go to if you haven't been to it just to check it off the list I'll say that ! Price was ok too not to cheap not too pricey it's in a happy medium. Also side note : servers don't wear uniforms so they blend in with any random person walking around. The ambiance is great, but the food is nothing spectacular. I give ambiance 5 stars, service 4 stars, and food 2 stars. On Sunday's they have a piano player who sings. They have indoor and outdoor seating. There is a bar that seats about 10 people. In the back patio they have an airstream trailer you can eat inside of. The service is good. Zucchini pancakes: not sure why people rave about these. They had no flavor until we applied the orange butter. They are thick and dense. Stuffed French toast: ours came out half burnt as shown in my pic. It was dry, except for the apple stuffing in the center. The outer edge was very dry. The strudel topping should have been heavier for more flavor. Roast Pork sandwich: there was minimal pork on our sandwich. The au jus had good flavor that came in a little espresso cup. Our sandwich was not hot. There was minimal broccoli and cheese on it. Cheesy polenta: NO flavor. They need to add a lot of salt to this dish to give it some flavor. It was topped with chopped chives, that didn't have any flavor either. Pizza: Sausage/mushroom ---not much flavor to this. Little toppings. Steak sandwich: this is the best thing I've had here. The steak is well seasoned and tender. Sweet potato hash: cubed sweet potato that was sautéed perfectly. Nothing amazing about the dish. I've tried this place a few times, but have not been impressed by the food. I will opt for other options on the street before returning here again. read more
