    Little crow
    Shu S.

I was walking one evening at a school park and found an injured fledgling crow on the grass. The little guy could barely move and couldn't fly, and looked to be very hurt. I called HAS, but they were closed so I called the non-emergency police line, and they were able to connect me to Mr. Ramirez. Despite being off hours, he still showed up and was very kind and was able to take the little fledgling back to the center the next day. I received a very nice update today that the little guy is going to make it. Turned out he was extremely dehydrated and quite down. Thank you Mr. Ramirez and HAS for your great work and empathy.

Thanks for helping the poor little guy.

Thank you Officer Ramirez for your kindness and empathy towards the poor stray cat with the severe leg injury. You made it easy to find the little guy some help.

The girls at the front know the kittens up for adoption very well. A young man recommended a particular rat when I was looking to purchase one as a pet. See a picture of Sniffy below! This rat really had a very sweet disposition. I didn't expect that young man to be so familiar with the animals when the many rats are likely destined to be snake food. I also had good luck finding medicine for kennel cough relief when Petco and Petsmart were out of stock. I didn't have as much luck looking for any outdoor dog kennels. They had a pretty limited selection due to external events. But the staff was very helpful. In terms of animals I've seen kittens, rats, mice, and chicks available. But it's not like 20 years ago when they had rabbits, budgies, and other small pets. I've heard from other dog owners they have events like photos with Santa and I've seen a long line for the mobile vet events. During the wildfires a year ago Western Ranch hosted a donation event. It may be a bit more expensive but it feels good to know I'm supporting a locally owned store that cares about its community.

Had we been given accurate and consistent information from the outset, we would not have made the trip. Mistakes and misunderstandings happen. What distinguishes good customer service is how a business responds when they do. Here, the service was indifferent at best, and when we pointed out the contradictory information we had been given, the owner responded with hostility rather than any attempt to understand or address the problem. The most basic expectation a customer should have is that information provided by a business is reasonably accurate and consistent. Based on our experience, that is not an expectation I would have here. I would not recommend this store.

We got our french bulldog from Joe in 2012. She has been perfectly healthy and according to our…read morevet, does not suffer from any of the typical health issues that come with the breed - except allergies. That said, the vet office was full of red itchy bulldogs the first time we went for a visit. This is not a reflection of the breeder, but a issue that is common with almost all frenchies. A bulldog is a labor of love and anyone who purchases a one should be fully aware that they cost more and are more labor intensive for this reason - but they are Oh, so worth it. We love our bully and my interaction with Joe was professional and he was quick to follow up about our dogs allergies when we had to make changes to her diet. He is very knowlegable about the breed and is happy to help you after you go home with your dog. He was prompt in returning my emails and phone calls and provided food and training recommendations. After changing the type of food we were feeding our dog, her allergies are now limited to seasonal ones and I cannot remember the last time we had to visit the vet. I also want to add that I was impressed with the behavior of all of Joe's dogs when we went to pick up our dog. They were well behaved and docile - this is so important as the first few months really shape the temperment of a puppy. It is so important when you select a stronger breed like a bulldog that they are well cared for and trained properly. For this reason, I greatly disagree with the review below for several reasons. I have purchased a dog from a low quality breeder and have dealt with all kinds of behavioral issues as a result. This dachshund breeder gave us a puppy that was too young and has had lasting behavioral issues because of this. Therefor, I was very conscious to observe how the dogs were being cared for and observe the behavior of Joe's adult dogs, personal dogs as well as the puppies for sale. We were allowed to see all of the dogs, however, it is generally not a good idea to meet your potential puppy with 10 other dogs present. For this reason, Joe let out a few puppies for us to observe and also allowed the mother and a couple of adult dogs out out so we could observe their interactions. Joe also helped facilitate as we observed how each dog interacted with our children. As the reviewer stated below about the dogs not being "ready"- If a breeder says that a puppy is not ready, you should listen to that, as taking a puppy from their litter too early can have disasterous effects on their behavior. Health issues are common with bulldogs and one should be prepared to have more vet bills for this reason. This is not always due to breeding, but has to do with the fact that they have short muzzles and have breathing problems as a result. Our vet, who specializes in brachycephalic breeds, said that it is important to keep your dog at a healthy weight, something Joe also recommended, due to having a shorter snout as it will help mitigate breathing issues. If any dog does have major defects, Joe stands behind his dogs as stated in his contract. A high quality breeder provides ongoing support after you take your dog home and I appreciate the help Joe provided in helping us identify our dogs food allergy and the numerous recommendations he made about different kinds of food. I highly recommend Left Coast Bulldogs if you are considering getting a Frenchie.

Recently got some pea puffers and was in need of snails to feed them. I walked in and was immediately taken back by all of the tanks in the store. Tons of really well taken care of BEAUTIFUL bettas. Before leaving, he handed me the bag of snails and said he didn't have much left and that I could take the for free. Such a super kind gesture. Have a feeling I'll be a regular here. Definitely worth checking out to anyone looking for a local spot.

A couple weeks ago I went back to purchase a betta but after learning my aquarium had only been cycling for 4 days he sent me home with goldfish to assist with the needed beneficial bacteria. No charge!!! Wow. Who does that? Well they have a customer for life now...and I plan to pay it forward by returning these fish so someone else can also benefit. Its a small place in a strip mall but they have fresh and saltwater fish. They don't have a large selection of aquarium decor but the fish are healthy and the service is professional and much appreciated. Masks are required. Gotta respect that.
