The chicken in the sliders was coated in powder that hurt my mouth, the sauce hurt too, the pickles were even worse, and even the fries and mac&cheese were too salty! Since it's located in downtown Redmond, parking can be a bit of a challenge. The area itself is very walkable though, with plenty of shops around Redmond Town Center. You could honestly park at Redmond Town Center and walk over to Dave's Hot Chicken, it'll probably take about 10 to 15 minutes. Otherwise, you can try your luck with street parking, especially if you're just doing a quick pickup. I really wanted to try their mozzarella sticks, so I got the $10 combo that came with three mozzarella sticks, fries, and a drink. I ordered them at Medium heat and kind of wish I could've chosen different spice levels for each stick, but they were still really good. The place was honestly super crowded when I went. I feel like Dave's Hot Chicken is just an overall great chicken spot, and if you haven't tried their chicken yet, it's definitely a must. Wait time for food was an hour on the dot, so we went on a short walk around downtown Redmond. Quality here is consistently high regardless of if the store is empty or if the store is packed, which is huge kudos to the service team. If it's your first time at a Dave's, you gotta go for the #2 combo with fries. Spice here doesn't get too crazy; I'd say a medium is still pretty mild. Fries are always nice and dusted and the new mozzarella sticks are super seasoned as well. I heard about this place and decided to try it, so I drove all the way from Lynnwood to the Redmond location. When I arrived, the restaurant was very difficult to find. I walked around for about 10 minutes before finally locating it. When I went to the counter to pick up my order, I was told that my order had actually been placed at Pike Place. I had used the app and selected Redmond as my location, so I reasonably assumed I was ordering from Redmond. I explained the situation to the staff. One woman, who had her back turned toward customers the entire time and was focused on the kitchen, told me I would need to go to Pike Place to pick up my order. Pike Place is about 30 minutes from Redmond, and my final destination was already another 30 minutes away. I had also already driven 25 minutes just to get to Redmond. I explained that going to Pike Place was not an option, but she stated that it was my only option and suggested I reorder through the app. Reluctantly, I pulled up the app again. Even when selecting Redmond, the app continued to default to Pike Place. I showed this to the staff, and I also heard multiple customers outside expressing the same issue -- they were unable to place an order for the Redmond location through the app. After showing the issue again, I was told to reorder anyway. Once I placed the new order, I waited nearly another hour. I arrived in Redmond at 8:37 PM and was still there at 9:45 PM. The one bright spot was a young woman named Cathlina. She was very kind, sincere, and genuinely apologetic. She helped me place another order and repeatedly apologized to customers for the long wait times. She handled the situation with professionalism and empathy and never appeared frustrated, unlike the other woman who seemed to be in charge. Cathlina demonstrated leadership and customer service that far exceeded expectations -- she should be the manager. Overall, the experience was extremely frustrating due to app issues, long wait times, poor communication, and lack of accountability from management. Last week, late night on our way back from a trip we stopped at the Redmond location and picked up a togo order of Trio (4 sliders, 6 tenders, 2 mozz) as a late night meal to share between us. After reaching home, realized the packed order was missing 2 sliders. And for the other 2 sliders, there was the bread base but no chicken inside. The tenders and mozz were tasty. This was frustrating not only because we got only a partial order of what we paid for, but also that we depended on this as our late night meal and we got only half the food than what we expected. The space was very vibrant with the classics Dave's hot chicken feel. Unfortunately I ordered online and their to go window was closed so I had to go inside where it was extremely busy and it took additional time just to get my food because I had to get past everyone that was ordering to eat in the restaurant. Even though my food had been ready for some time there was not enough staff to help me get my food because of how many people there were. Staff was extremely busy and seems like management does not have the new store under control. I would wait to come try this place when it either gets less busy or they hire more people. Also, some tiny bites and that's about it, but everything is amazingly delicious with some drink options as well! Make absolutely sure you have some sort of cool liquid when you're enjoying the chicken, even if it's just water.
