The workers were slammed with endless orders and the restaurant barely had any standing space much less seating. They have iPads for folks placing their orders, but it's probably best to order online. A giant monitor indicates the status of upcoming orders and you pick up the food by the register as your number comes up. Wait time for food was an hour on the dot, so we went on a short walk around downtown Redmond. Quality here is consistently high regardless of if the store is empty or if the store is packed, which is huge kudos to the service team. If it's your first time at a Dave's, you gotta go for the #2 combo with fries. Spice here doesn't get too crazy; I'd say a medium is still pretty mild. Fries are always nice and dusted and the new mozzarella sticks are super seasoned as well. I heard about this place and decided to try it, so I drove all the way from Lynnwood to the Redmond location. When I arrived, the restaurant was very difficult to find. I walked around for about 10 minutes before finally locating it. When I went to the counter to pick up my order, I was told that my order had actually been placed at Pike Place. I had used the app and selected Redmond as my location, so I reasonably assumed I was ordering from Redmond. I explained the situation to the staff. One woman, who had her back turned toward customers the entire time and was focused on the kitchen, told me I would need to go to Pike Place to pick up my order. Pike Place is about 30 minutes from Redmond, and my final destination was already another 30 minutes away. I had also already driven 25 minutes just to get to Redmond. I explained that going to Pike Place was not an option, but she stated that it was my only option and suggested I reorder through the app. Reluctantly, I pulled up the app again. Even when selecting Redmond, the app continued to default to Pike Place. I showed this to the staff, and I also heard multiple customers outside expressing the same issue -- they were unable to place an order for the Redmond location through the app. After showing the issue again, I was told to reorder anyway. Once I placed the new order, I waited nearly another hour. I arrived in Redmond at 8:37 PM and was still there at 9:45 PM. The one bright spot was a young woman named Cathlina. She was very kind, sincere, and genuinely apologetic. She helped me place another order and repeatedly apologized to customers for the long wait times. She handled the situation with professionalism and empathy and never appeared frustrated, unlike the other woman who seemed to be in charge. Cathlina demonstrated leadership and customer service that far exceeded expectations -- she should be the manager. I've visited the Dave's Hot Chicken in Capitol Hill and so I was thrilled to have a closer location for those on the Eastside. 1st time I had Dave's in Capitol Hill it was super crispy, flavorful, and had a great spice to it. It's not the cheapest fast casual restaurant but I like it so I don't mind the pricing even though it is a bit higher compared to other fast casual food. I ordered an online pickup order and it was ready on time. Service was fine. They have recently just opened so I think that they are working some kinks out of the kitchen. Unfortunately, I can only rate the food that I'm served and the chicken that I had from the Redmond branch tasted like the seasoning had burned a little bit. I ordered the medium and tt wasn't awful, but it was noticeable and had a slight acrid taste. Fries were good. We went late on a Friday and ordered our food. It was very crowded and a bit messy inside, so we ordered it to-go. We finally got our food 45 minutes later. We went home to eat and found everything to be surprisingly bland for allegedly being Nashville-style hot chicken. I got a Hot level slider, which was barely spicy which would have been forgivable if there was some flavor to it, but there was more flavor from the sauce and pickles than from the chicken itself. I also got a Reaper level tender, and that was actually spicy, but still somehow very bland. They just don't season their chicken enough. It at least wasn't dry, like white meat is often prone to being, but dark meat would still have been better. Not worth the wait and there are better options if you want fried chicken. Fries had a great texture - they were soft with a light crisp on the outside - and although they tasted good, personally I felt they were too seasoned or too salted.
