First time at this location. Parking is a nightmare j ut that's downtown fresno folks. Unpacked at a meter and enjoyed my walk here. The staff was very nice and accommodating. The food as always is amazing and filling. I had the pita with mushrooms this time and the jalapeño garlic hummus. It is a 9 out of 10. I'm no stranger to Hummus Republic! I was introduced to this gem years ago when they first opened this location Downtown through a Yelp Elite Event. They also have 2nd location in North Fresno on Palm. This location is a bit smaller than their Palm location they both have an indoor and outdoor seating. Yesterday I had HR craving and went to their direct website to order for delivery since I have two littles who were taking their nap. Sadly, they didn't deliver to my area but thankfully found them on GrubHub!!! Their prices of course were slightly higher than ordering directly too them but it was all worth it!!!! I ordered my usual bowl with couscous and spring mix. My two proteins: lemon chicken and falafel. I added so much more sides than I normally do and asked for the dressing to be on the side since it was for delivery I didn't want to food to be all mushy. I also added their pita chip and hummus (5 options) on the side. Everything was estimated to arrive 45mins -1hour. Thankfully it came sooner literally 30mins from ordering it was at my door step! Everything was packed neatly, I had asked for utensils in my order however it did not come with it, but that's okay thankfully I was home so that was no issue. My order was correct. Large portions and had so much flavor!!! HR literally has the most delicious and fresh ingredients. Hands down the best pita chips, fried fresh crunchy, and it's just the most delicious tasting pita chip ever. Along with their pita chip they also serve the most amazing sweet potato fries all to die for! They have so many sauces and hummus to choose from the bowls are packed more than enough for 2 serving and you get the fullness filling without feeling icky since the ingredients pretty healthy. The service is always amazing when I do visit. Chloe, the owner is usually there and she's just the nicest person with the most biggest beautiful smile. They offer a diverse menu with plenty of vegetarian and vegan options, which is great to see. We tried one of their pre-set bowls from the menu as well as a build-your-own bowl, and both were satisfying. The portion sizes were generous, which made it a great value. Exceeded expectations! I honestly wasn't expecting anything earth shattering in terms of the food with it being a chain, but the food was actually very delicious. Everything seemed fresh, good ingredients and well prepared. The employee who prepared our meals was super friendly, very knowledgeable and helpful in supporting us with our dietary accommodations. This is one of my favorite places to go however this was my first time to this new location in downtown Fresno. Although the food was good the restaurant was extremely hot. To be honest the temperature seem to be the same inside as it was outside. I ordered a bowl and wanted to eat at the location however, It was so hot I had to pack my stuff up and get in my car. I went home to finish my salad because I couldn't believe that there was no difference in temperature from being inside the building to when I walked outside. While I would consider the cuisine to be only vaguely Mediterranean, my first time experience here was positive. I was hoping for a hot meal, but the bowl I got contained only some warm chicken and the rest of the ingredients were cold, so my expectations on this visit were not met. However, the food was good and at least one of the staff was friendly and outgoing, so I'd probably go there again when my expectations are in keeping with their menu. Warning! The pita chips are addictive and you will crave them all the time. Such an easy and healthy option when you don't want anything heavy or something you'll regret. The bowls are massive and satisfying, so much flavor. The pita chips are made fresh so they're warm and crunchy but still a bit soft in the middle. I love to mix hummus with tzatziki, it's untouchable. Chloe and Steve are so nice and helpful, they really know how to multitask working on DoorDash orders, in person customers, and working the phones. Definitely recommend a try! read more

Customer service probably needs to be better. I ordered online an hour in advance at 11:20 AM since i was at work and needed to pick it up in time for my 30 minute lunch. When I arrived, my order hadn't even been started. It was a bit busy, and only two employees were handling the line. If you're considering ordering online, be aware that you might end up waiting a long time. My order wasn't ready until around 12:34 PM, after I had already been waiting at the restaurant. The ordering style is the same as Chipotle, or any other fast casual restaurant. You choose your base (couscous, rice, or salad) your protein, (chicken, Shawarma, beef Shawarma, or vegetarian) and then pile it high with a ton of fresh toppings. I got two different types of chicken. The lemon pepper chicken and the chicken Shawarma. This was a little confusing because as I wasn't sure if I would be charged double, but apparently you can add two different proteins at no extra charge. You can also do the same with your base. Double it up! By the time I added my base and my proteins, the bowl was already overflowing and I hadn't even my added toppings. There's at least 15-different vegetable toppings, hard boiled eggs, cheeses, and 6-different sauces. Yummy, I can't wait to enjoy this massive bowl of mush! All jokes aside, this was delicious and everything was incredibly fresh. It was a little tricky at first to order, but I think I got the hang of it. This place has become one of my favorite lunch go to spots. 1.) it's fast, think chipotle style 2.) it's delicious, the possibilities are endless 3.) service is amazing. Seriously, these workers are really friendly and nice. You can choose from pita wrap, sandwich wrap, bowls and/or the earth burger with sweet potato fries. Sometimes, less is more so keep that in mind. Everything is packed with flavor and it's the best bang for your buck. I can't ever finish my meal and always pack it to go. Only con is, downtown is known for being busy for lunch, so it would be great if workers get the meals out faster. You'll have to look for street parking. Beat the rush! If you plan on going for lunch, try to get there a few minutes before noon. I have been lucky to get there about 11:45 a couple of times and the line really starts to back up behind me. The line may move faster as the crew gets used to their roles (there was some bickering that the "pitas need to be rolled! I can't be walking back and forth to get them myself!") and new customers get used to the process. All in all this was a great, light, healthy meal that powered me through the rest of the afternoon. There are a TON of options here. You pick a bowl, wrap or pita. You start with a base of either (or a combo of) warm garbanzo beans, kale salad, couscous, or spring mixes and then load on up to 3 hummus/spreads. I have tried them all and usually opt for traditional, harissa and eggplant hummus. Next, you choose a protein. I love the lemon chicken. Then there are unlimited veggies. You can choose for yourself, but don't sleep on the "street mix" it is a mix of roasted jalapeno, olive, onions, and garlic. I always add a fried jalapeno (I think it is like a buck more) for a little spice. Lastly, a dressing to bring it all together. The portions were tiny , they didn't put any greens, when I normally order in person, the bowl is overflowing, and the lid can barely be closed. This one was very short on protein and they didn't really put everything I ordered as toppings. Very disappointing since I end up paying $24 instead of the $15 I normally pay when I pick it up . This is a build your own type of place which I think is fun The workers greeted me right when I walked it. I went around 11:30 and there was already a little line going. I ordered the Pita with zesty feta, couscous, fake greens, and chicken shawarma (they offer half and half on the protein). I added pickled cabbage, cucumbers, and asked for the traditional sauce on the side. I'm kind of a picky eater so I didn't add much to the all you can add toppings, but let me tell you my little topping made my pita huge! Everything individually is great in flavor. They did forget to give me my side of traditional sauce but they were busy and flustered so I'm not that mad. The pita was extremely messy and everything kept falling out so it kinda turned into a salad at the end. All in all I'll probably give them a little more time to adjust but will be going back again. With all kale and Harissa hummus with the falafel. They make them fresh for you. For the Sauce I got the Grandma green salsa and the Morrocan hot sauce. I also added some chickpeas. You have a choice to get as many toppings as you want. I got cabbage regular and the purple. Also I add some of the Mediterranean salad tastes so good. I love Mediterranean food and was very excited when I saw this restaurant on Instagram. As someone trying to lose weight but still eat delicious food, this was right up my alley. They have lots of different options for carnivores and vegans alike. I got the build your own pita and piled the toppings on high, at no extra cost! I'm sure they charge extra for double meet or something but I was able to get a great amount of meat, sauce, and toppings without being charged extra. The pita was large and delicious and my food was spicy, just how I like it. I did make the mistake of buying directly into the whole jalapeño was on my pita for at least three bites before I realized why it was so spicy .
