I did come in around 1-2 PM. It took several minutes for someone to notice me. That was annoying. My immediate thought was the food would be awful, but I was completely wrong. Chicken Kabob plate was absolutely perfect! Moist chicken excellent flavor and tasted incredibly fresh. The chicken skewer was exactly the same. I had such a great experience here! First, the place was clean and the staff was friendly and accommodating which brings everything to a good start. Now the food, exquisite! My friend ordered the chicken kabobs lunch and that chicken was so tender and flavorful that I still think about it. I got the lolo kabob lunch and, again, juicy and soft and so flavorful! How are they able to get their meats so juicy and tender when other similar restaurants make them so dry? Impressive! The Greek fries had feta and salty Kalamata olives that went perfectly with the sauce that was on the fries. I would like to eat that again as well. And the pita bread must have been home made because they were fluffy inside and toasty on the outside, not flat and delicate like usual pita breads. The woman at the counter was super sweet and helpful with any explanations we needed. I ordered the chicken kebab plate with a side of yellow rice, pita bread, and grilled veggies. I also ordered a side of hummus and their garlic pita bread! The hummus was super creamy and paired so well with the garlicky pita bread. The chicken was just a tad bit dry for me, but dipping in the provided garlic sauce helped out! Their grilled veggies medley was grilled just to my preference, though my mom found them a bit mushy, but they were super flavorful! I just want to start off by saying the staff was absolutely welcoming and sweet. I believe it was the owner who came up to me and my mom. He was so thankful for trying his food. As well, checking in on everyone else if they needed anything. Now to the food, it was 10/10 across the boards. This was my mom and I first time trying this place. We were not disappointed. I ordered the chicken kabob plate with rice & salad. Let me say my go-to orders at other similar restaurants is Spicy chicken. I didn't see they had that option other than the spicy Jerusalem (mixture of beef, lamb, & chicken) so I asked if it was possible if they can make my chicken spicy. They were happy to do so. I am very thankful for that. My chicken was so tender with a perfect amount of spice. The rice itself was fluffy and flavorful. The salad was tangy and light. Every thing worked perfectly well with each other. My mother got the Arabic salad with the same request as me a spicy chicken kabob. She could not stop raving about how delicious it was. She is already planning to bring our other family to try this wonderful food. Lastly, we both loved the hummus and baba ghanoush. I thank everyone at Simply Pita. It's definitely a gem. Superb and exceeded my expectations. The salad was like a Greek salad with tomatoes, olives, feta, lettuce, and more. The lamb kabobs cooked perfectly and very tasty. Healthy portions. FINALLY!!! 7 years in Fresno and finally found an excellent Gyro Shop! Pita is made in store and tastes like it just came out of Heaven. Gyro meat was nicely carmelized and well spiced with no tiny fragments that can be found in cheaper products. Ask for extra or a side Taziki! They have lunch and dinner specials specific to the the time of day that is a real money saver. The food prices on the regular menu are still cheaper than other similar resteraunts. The food was good, but the portions were pretty small. My husband ordered the lamb chop plate, and I got the combo kebab plate to share with our son. We were both disappointed with how small the lamb chops and kebabs were, the portions looked more like kid portions. The meat portions didn't compare to what we usually get at Papaya Fresh, and the prices were noticeably higher. read more

This was completely misleading! I love Mediterranean food, and I convinced my buddy to have a quick lunch here, when he was craving something else. Now I owe lunch again for this place sucking to so bad. We walk in to a completely empty restaurant, with no one at the register. Then while my buddy and I look at the menu, an older woman comes to the register and stares at us, implicitly rushing us to make an order. I mean, "Can I help you? Do you have any questions?" Would have been helpful. Well then we order and she's so quiet and has a look of "I don't want to be here" that my buddy and I were kind of thrown off. Whatever, we sit down hoping the food is good. We both go to use the bathroom (which is filthy, and had NO TOILET PAPER, SOAP OR PAPER TOWEL). Yeah we were getting pretty antsy. Well the food comes out.......wildly disappointing. The pita was tiny, meat was dry and bland, and they ration the ketchup packets for fries!!! Maybe my standards were too high? I've been to this spot three times and each time it was absolutely outstanding. As someone who loves to try new things, this spot brings me the security and satisfaction every time. The service and ambiance is great as well, I could not recommend this spot more. The chicken/beef shawarma, and gyro are standouts but that does not undermine the greatness of everything else.
