I ordered General Tso's Chicken and an order of egg rolls. The egg rolls are just over 1/2" in diameter and are ok. Since they don't have much filling, they taste a bit greasy even though there isn't a lot of grease on them. They seemed to be more an Asian Taquito. The General Tso's Chicken was OK, but the sauce was a little watery. Every place else I've had General Tso's Chicken, the sauce is dark and has a thicker consistency, but the sauce on their General Tso's was way too thin and watery. What really knocks this restaurants down to a 2 for me wasn't so much the food, but it was the cost. One order of 2 egg rolls and an order of General Tso's chicken cost just over $15. The portions are the same as any where else, so I felt that this price is just way too high and the taste of the food did not justify this cost. read more

Used as a second to our usual Chinese delivery, they opened and delivered right after a snowstorm. The portions were large, the food was tasty, not overly greasy (as some can be), and stored well. First off.. I apologize to Jasmine's but I just love, love the new Chinese restaurant in town. Up to last night, Jasmine was our old "place" to go for good Asian food but Hunan Cafe is scrumptious. On so many levels. We ordered the combination fried rice (hubby is timid) and I had the Thai Basil Beef. We also ordered the Crab Ragoons as well. The vegetables on the Thai Basil entree were incredibly fresh (crunchiness of a nice snow pea, anyone?) and the beef slices were nice portioned. The fried rice tasted freshly made and did not skimp on meat as other places normally do. As promised, the rice did not taste greasy. The only disappointment of the evening was the crab ragoon filling (or lack of it). There was maybe a tablespoon of the cream cheese in the wonton and hardly any taste of crab. The yummy crunch of the wonton and light texture more than made up for the filling and we ended the evening with happy bellies. Also, last night's meal made for GREAT leftovers. Food is pretty good. However I keep trying to order in advance for work online, and everytime I do so they bring it right away. They need to remove the option to order in advance if they won't do it. My schedule at work makes it so I am too busy to order 20-30 minutes before I would need it and the way they do it now I have to either eat it cold or microwave it. read more

Like all the others I ordered Sweet & Sour Chicken Egg Roll Egg Drop Soup The chicken wasn't fried enough so the dough wasn't cooked all the way, so it was mushy. This is an odd little place. It is fairly new in a strip mall. It looks very plastic when you walk in. You go up to a little counter and order your food. The pictures above the counter are cliche withe obligatory cooler off to the side with sodas. After ordering, you pick up your silverware and get a steaming styrofoam cup of tea. The sweet/sour and soy are in little packages. The food arrives and it is on a little three section plastic plate. The tables are plastic. Lunch was nearly $10 which was way too much for the daily special. The egg roll was about the size of a small cigar and mostly stuffed with cabbage. I had the cashew chicken and rice. The food wasn't bad but it wasn't that good. The rice was either brown or had soy sauce on it; I couldn't tell. The chicken was breaded or tossed in something before it was turned into cashew chicken. I had to add soy sauce which was actually a relief compared to some places that over sauce stuff. The door said that they didn't used MSG or "cann vegetables." It was billed as a more healthful place to eat. Okay... Service was non-existent. Here's what, the food was okay. Order a few things and take them home and eat it right out of the carton. It's that kind of place. I've been to this little place twice. For the price, I'll probably not go back. read more

First of all the service SUCKS they are VERY RUDEand I can't stand calling the order in because how rude they are on the phone. If you go in person it seems to be even worse because they seem disgusted to see you and are also very very rude. One time I ordered food and the two kids running the counter were fighting about who will take our order I almost left but the food is halfway decent for a decent price. Once on the phone after the order and payment was given the women hung up and didn't say anything else so I recalled to make sure they got my order. The food is decent the actually place to eat looks horrible, but Jasmines is way better but you sacrifice with price. Consistently great food. The Thai and Japanese items on the menu are a nice addition to the standard Chinese fare. The Pad Thai is as good as anywhere else around and the Udon noodles are so tender and well made. The shrimp and veggies that I often get are fresh and perfectly cooked. I just moved to the area recently and decided to try this place out... Service was awful, the lady at the front was on a personal call the whole time, I could barely get her attention and then when I did I couldn't understand her. She had wrote down my cc # when I gave it to her over the phone and I asked if I could have that piece of paper with my information, she said what? And so I picked the paper up and said I would like my credit card information back. She snatched it out of my hand and said "no you can't have!" I was shocked and it was extremely rude. She continued to be loud on her personal call and not even let me know that my food was ready to go. The food quality was a 4/10. For the price, I expected way more quality food. Their carry out is always ready within 30 minutes, with fair pricing. Tried the Hunan Cafe last night for the first time. We decided to have it delivered rather then go back out after the whole family was already home. As others have pointed out it is brand new and located in the new shopping center at the corner of Sycolin and Battlefield Pkwy in Leesburg, by the new Walgreens. The wife and I didn't feel like cooking so a quick call netted us an order of General Tso's Chicken, Chicken Lo Mein, Chicken Pad Thai, Steamed Dumplings (pork) and 2 orders of vegetable spring rolls (there are 2 rolls to an order and they are smallish in size). My wife and I hardly agree on the same Asian restaurants and so far have only both like Jasmine in Leesburg, so that is who we compared everything to. Hunan's prices seemed to be about the same or maybe even a tad less the Jasmine so that is another plus in their favor. The General Tso's was good, the pieces of chicken were small (bite size) but there was a lot of it. It all seemed to be nice cuts of white meat without any gross knobby pieces (hopefully it will stay that way). The sauce was more tangy and citrus then that of Jasmine and didn't really have any hot spice to it (which is fine for us). The Chicken Pad Thai was awesome! We ordered it cause of Jenni S's post and my wife LOVED it. I tried it and agreed with my wife that it had the best flavor of any of the Pad Thai's we have had at all of the restaurants in Leesburg. If you like Pad Thai, I highly recommend you give Hunan Cafe's a try. The Chicken Lo Mein was also quite good. I have found it is hard for restaurants to make the same lo mein each time so only time will tell if it continues to be as good, but this batch was tasty. It needed a bit for salt for me so I just added some soy sauce and was all set. Again, the chicken was nice a juicy and not over cooked and no nasty pieces. I found the vegetable spring rolls to be average. To me they are just like every other Chinese restaurant around and are fine, but nothing super special to write home about. Delivery was fairly quick at about 30 minutes from the time we called but we also live pretty close just of Sycolin as well. The deliver driver was friendly and courteous and smiled the whole time. I guess my only complaint about the entire experience is that they didn't give me the menus I asked for when ordering. We were just sort of blind ordering figuring they had all the regular staples of a Chinese restaurant. I will simply stop in their store one of these days and grab one since we will be ordering from them again. read more

Worst Chinese we have had since moving to leesburg 7 months ago. Ordered sesame chicken and general Tsos chicken. Both tasted identical ( read-mushy chicken caked in a corn starch slurry thick enough to patch a pot hole.) Crab Rangoon-not a bit of that fake crab inside. Just generic gross cream cheese. Egg rolls-tiny but the only thing I would get ever again. Don't just stay away from this place but run away, fast. So far China King is the winner. This place has great lo mein.The shrimp fried rice was good. this place has shrimp that are very soft and tender with great flavor unlike other Chinese restaurants that often use precooked shrimp or the shrimp is a bit rubbery when prepared. It's obvious this place knows how to make a good eggroll , the flavor is definitely there but there is not enough stuffing in them. I'm a big shrimp toast fan, one bite and I discarded the rest , they should definitely rethink that recipe. read more

I went today for take out and had hot and sour soup, Steamed veggies with brown rice and a side of garlic sauce, It was the best brown rice i have gotton at any thai or chinese place in the leesburg area. The entire meal was delicious. There were veggies in the meal that i never get anywhere else when I order this - i was so amazed and happy I called them to tell them how pleased I was and that this is our new place to go for Chinese. We were really happy to see this place open near our new home. We have eaten here multiple times - both dine-in and takeout. We are big fans of the steamed dumplings. We have ordered several meals from this restaurant. Generally, the menu is adequate, very little differentiates their cuisine from the plethora of offerings in the Leesburg area. They are very close to our neighborhood, so we have ordered food to be delivered. Twice we have not received something we ordered. When we call, they first tell us "you didn't order that", then say we weren't charged for it. Looking at the receipt is of no help as everything is written in chinese! We have ordered our last meal from this establishment and really think they need to work on their customer service skills. read more
