The Szechuan bean curd I ordered was amazing and it's nice that they include rice free of charge with the order, however I ordered the vegetable chow mein and just received mixed vegetables with no chow mein noodles and the vegetables weren't exceptional. Best place to get Chinese food in Columbia hands down. Food is reasonably priced for Chinese and their lunch special is smart move for anyone trying to save a few bucks. Mostly a carry out spot but they do have a few tables if you're looking to dine in. read more

This place is good. It is good for take out...not enough room to eat it. The prices are decent for Howard County. My only complaint was that they charged $.25 for a little cup of hot oil...they didn't make my food spicy (like I asked) and wanted to charge me for about 1.5 TBS of hot oil sauce. WTF? I've been getting my Chinese take out here for four years now. Love the beef lo mein and honey sesame chicken. Very large portions.

Been eating here well over 15 years and the food remains some of the best. I will travel across town to pick up my meal because they are that good. I give this place 4 stars! It is soooo much better than anywhere else we have found in the area that serves Chinese food. My family moved back to the area last year and we have tried about a dozen different places with an epic failure at every Chinese restaurant until Hunan Diamond. We have only tried the usual stuff, like egg rolls (they are good, but a little dry), soups, chicken, veggie and beef dishes. Everything is actually edible. Have a tried better? Yes of course which is why it isn't a 5 star, but I could hardly eat some of the other restaurants I tried. This one I can actually sit down and enjoy and have no complaints. I would only recommend this as a carry out place though. The seating area is really tiny and so are the tables. I can't imagine enjoying a meal with my husband, let alone my daughter too with such a small space. I understand you have to work with what you have, but I think the review should prepare people that it is best to just call in the order. By the way, I have ordered from them plenty of times and have never been sick, something you cannot always claim with many Chinese food restaurants. read more

I've really enjoyed the food here at this place. I've been a regular customer since June 2011 (usually order once every two weeks). I only do take-out with them and can call and usually get piping hot take-out food in 10-15 minutes. I've (or my family members) had the Beef with Broccoli, Orange Chicken, Sweet and Sour Chicken, Hunan Chicken, Szechuan Chicken, and Pepper Beef and they are good standards at this place. Although named hunan, it is authentic Cantonese cuisine. I ordered a black pepper shrimp and it is as good as it can get.

As far as fast food chinese goes, Hunan Diamond is pretty good. One of the better places in the area for sure!

On a trip to visit family in Columbia we ordered from Hunan Diamond and picked-up our food. It was ready spot-on time and our large, complex order was perfectly assembled. The egg rolls and spring rolls were delicious, well cooked, and full of flavor. The egg fu yung, General TSO's chicken and beef and broccoli were all delicious. The veggies in the beef and broccoli were not over cooked and had real flavor. YUM overall! read more

This carryout restaurant started to come up with new dishes for their restaurant and they have been delicious. There aren't many places that serve authentic Chinese food around my area. The carryout restaurants near me usually serve Americanized Chinese foods. When I heard they started making beef chow fun, I had to try it as soon as I could. The chow fun was was just like any authentic Chinese restaurant and they came in large portions. I checked the newer items out and saw a couple of Chinese cuisines. I will definitely be coming back to try them all out. read more

I had been going here for over ten years with no problems but then experienced gastrointestinal problems so i stopped ordering out for about a year. I decided to go back and had unfortunately experienced severe stomach pains and diarrhea within an hour of eating. By far my favorite Chinese takeout. I wish they were in my neighborhood! The egg drop soup is very tasty. It's a bit thicker than other places, which gives it more flavor. Sweet and sour shrimp, egg rolls, lo mein, fried rice, all yummy. They do a good job packing items separately so they don't get soggy on the way home. Got take out on the way home from work one night and it was still hot and crispy when I unpacked it about 35-40 mins later. read more

I am a regular, I LOVE their sesame chicken. The only thing I'd say is since I'm a regular, every time I go in I'm not sure how my chicken will taste. Overall it's always good, but I've had times were the flavor is off or there is hardly any chicken and it's just chunks of fried flour. Their egg rolls are good. But always check your food, because the owner can be sneaky in missing your egg roll with your lunch combo! Overall I'd give them a 4 out of 5 because when their sesame chicken is on point it's a 10 out 10! read more
