I was out of town for the night and my wife and son wanted pizza. I ordered from what I thought was hungry howies but really they allow some third party people to screw people over. Anyways I ordered online and realized something didn't seem right so I called the store to verify my order and that I wasn't scammed. The gentleman at the store told me they received the order and it was already in the oven this was at 8:15 I called again at nine and again was told that it was just put in the oven. My wife had given up on it and tried to call the store at ten to tell them to just cancel the order but they were closed and she received a message to callback during business hours. My wife and son were in bed when it showed up at 10:30pm which is ridiculous. This has been the worst series of pizza orders I have had in a long time. I usually love Hungry Howie's but I ordered a week ago a pepperoni mushroom pizza delivered and it came on time, but was sausage bacon. It had already taken an hour to get the pizza which is normal but the manager told me that I needed to SAVE THE PIZZA for his delivery driver to come pick back up and deliver to another location while giving me my correct probably cold pizza. So today I tried again. Takeout this time, pepperoni mushroom. Get back and what a surprise....no mushrooms and literally the worst made pizza I've ever had and I eat gas station pizza frequently. I have been a regular customer of hungry Howie's in Holly Hill Florida for quite a while now. My last order, about a month or so ago maybe, arrived burnt. The pizza was burnt. I called the store and spoke to somebody and informed them and the guy basically just said I'm sorry. Did not offer me anything, did not offer to come out and replace the pizza with a fresh one. Nothing. So somehow thankfully the owner found out about this because I received a voicemail from him a day or two later about it. I believe his name was harold. He is the franchise owner and he was very kind and apologetic in his voicemail. He offered me a free pizza and just told me to be sure to mention my phone number when I placed my order and that I would get a free pizza on my next order. I just spoke to the store because I wanted to get my free pizza tonight and the store had no record not only of them owing me a free pizza but also apparently no record of my complaint about the burnt pizza. Go figure. The guy I spoke to, douglas, was extremely rude and basically said there's nothing I can do about it. I told him that yes there is you can call the owner and talk to him and hopefully he will remember calling and leaving me that voicemail which I'm sure he would. Douglas said no he won't do that. I asked to speak to the store manager and he would not let me speak to her. He told me that she told him that she could not do anything about it either. So basically the manager and Douglas both told me to go screw myself. All I can do now is hope that the owner reads this review and does something corrective so this kind of thing doesn't happen to someone else. Another loyal customer like me. Worst customer service ever, corporate to restaurant. They use bait and switch advertising to get you to call, then won't give you the deal. They advertise a price in the ads they send you, a price that RIGHT NEXT to it has the words "WE DELIVER", no disclaimer anywhere near the deal, and then when you call they won't deliver the deal. They first quote you a cheaper price than the advertised price if you carry-out, then when you say you want the more expensive deal delivered, the person tells you that price is carry-out only too! Person on the phone offered no service on the matter, in fact I heard him hang up on me when I suggested that a deal in the ad that they refuse to deliver shouldn't be next to the words, "we deliver". Don't bother with Hungry Howies. They used to be decent, but they just don't give af anymore and don't care about false advertising. Much better pizza places within a mile of them anyway. At least dominoes is right down the road, and they'll own up if they mess up (there's even commercials about it). I'll stick with them in the future. read more

We are from Cincinnati, Ohio and loved Hungry Howie's. My wife had not had their pizza since college in Toledo. I had never heard of it before. We used an online coupon and got a $10 dollar large meat lovers. Their pizza isn't something to oooh and ahhh over but it wasn't bad. I would say its average to good. If we had Hungry Howie's back home we would probably order it often. We normally order from Marcos or Pizza Hut back home. The rest of our order consisted of a large pepperoni pizza and Howie bread. During our most recent visit, we were disappointed to learn that the special we have always gotten was replaced by a slightly more expensive one, which wouldn't be too bad, but the size of the pizzas seemed smaller than usual as well. The chicken wings were also under-cooked and not very appetizing. Overall, the pizza has never been the best around - not bad, but nothing exceptional. The staff has always been very pleasant and courteous. However, because of the price increases, we spent as much as if we would have dined at a real pizza restaurant, which is what we will we do from now on. For the 5 years I've lived here, Hungry Howies has been my favourite place to get my pizza. It's affordable, close to my house, and the flavoured crust is amazing. Unfortunately I will no longer be a customer. My friend from out of state ordered a meal for me online. When the delivery guy came to the house, he asked to see the credit card that was used to make the purchase. Seeing that my friend lives in Oklahoma, that obviously wasn't an option. So, I watched sadly as they took my pizza and wings which would have been the first real thing I've eaten in weeks. It's sad that I've been getting a pizza from this place almost weekly for such a long time, and when funds are nonexistent and someone tries to help me out, they can't even reward you for your loyalty. This was the worst experience I have had eating out in a long time! Horrible customer service! Today I called in a order after viewing a menu online, when I clearly stated three times what I did and did not want I was reassured that my order had been taken correctly. Upon arriving I immediately noticed unprofessional conduct as soon as I walked through the door the employees were yelling back and forth at each other while talking on the phone with customers, the new guy who apparently didn't know enough was being allowed to take phone orders but was clearly not prepared as he constantly yelled over the phone behind he to ask numerous questions due to his lack of knowledge of the menu. I then continued to hear them berate customers intelligence saying we were the reasons our food orders were messed up. I then asked as I was paying if they provided a military discount because I am active Army and when the young lady yelled to the back to ask the response replied loudly was no how do we know she even in the military. I will never dine here again and we ensure my family and friends are aware to not dine here as well anymore. I am super disgusted in all that I witnessed today. read more

Love their wings. Great salads as well. My kids always ask for their pizza. I ordered the Wing Meal deal and my kids went nuts over it. We got 30 wings, large toss salad with dressing, carrots and celery sticks with dipping sauce. It was amazing! The kids got mild and I got fire. I loved that we could mix it up.
