The food is great along with the waiters/waitresses. I do have a major issue though and this has happened twice. Today 12/30/24 I went in with some people for lunch. Now the cost from 12-4 is a little over $20 for the hot pot, however, when I received the bill it was for the dinner price which is about $12 more per person. I had to address this with staff and the excuse was "it's the holiday". As a business it should have been posted to advise customers that they would charge dinner prices And only give you the lunch menu. This is extremely shady and the only time I've seen places do this is during Valentine's Day that's it.! I noticed some other customers were talking about this as well. I'm not happy at all and it's the last straw. 2 times is enough so I will no longer continue to be a customer there. read more

My fiancé and I visited Hungry Pot to try hot pot and Korean bbq for the first time, and this spot made the experience great! I really liked how organized the menus were, as they were broken down between hot pot and Korean BBQ and clearly listed all of the protein, veggie, and add-ins to choose from. The all you can eat factor was an added bonus! All of the food was delicious that we had. We both loved our hot pot broths (I did the signature Hungry Pot Special, and my fiancé did the Szechuan spicy), and the ribeye really stood out to us. The meats were well-seasoned, and I picked out the brisket sauce from the buffet, which paired really nicely! We found the staff to be super attentive - the moment one of our plates was empty, they were right there to clear it, or if we needed a new plate for BBQ, they would notice and switch it out for us. I'd like to start off staying our server Alfi was amazing! When my husband and I came in, we were reseated 2 times. The front desk girl argued with our waiter saying "why are they here". So we were reseated. We resumed by being excited by the new experience and menu. While sitting down and cooking our food. The busboy was singing in Spanish saying "I can't wait to go home, I want to go home" and would dance in front of our table and waiting for us to drop a dish so he can take it. I felt uncomfortable and rushed. I'm pregnant, I immediately felt sick and as if we were burdening him. This went on for 30 mins, while the other waitresss (not alfi) was laughing with him, in front of our table. I'm Hispanic, my husband is Korean. So I understood everything clearly, the busboy looked at my husband and said "hey chino, thank you for the coronavirus" the racism we experienced was sickening. we immediately confront him and he stood in front of our table where my husband was and laughing at my husband who's visibly upset. We never thought we'd experience this kind of racism in this establishment. One worker came to us with Google translate saying that the busboy was referring to a corona drink. Completely ignoring our concerns. The only good thing I have to say is that the manager and alfi, were the only ones who listened to us and stood next to our side knowing that the busboy was not in the right. It's not great... but it's really good. Endless. Worth the price. Get allllllllllll the short rib.... I was super excited to experience Korean BBQ in our area! The restaurant was set up very nicely but very very smokey. The smoke from the tables was making me cough. Service was great! Food came in quickly and was very fresh! Meats were delicious! The sauce bar was delicious! My cocktail was a little lite on alcohol but presentation was top notch. We were well taken care of. Only suggestion I have is that in order the restaurant to achieve 5 stars, something must be done with the smoke caused by the grills and the heat overall (possibly add some high speed exhausts over the tables?). Sweating while eating was not ideal. Would recommend though, it is definitely something new that our area needed. read more

I tried BBQ from here couple months ago, and that day I had a bad diarrhea. I noticed meats are very cheap and not fresh, also hiding all the flavors with overly marinated. I didn't leave the review or complain at that time because I thought it could be undercooked meat. I gave it a try again yesterday. I had a hot pot instead, since I felt safer by boiling thinly slice meats, and I also made sure I cooked them long enough. Back home, I can't do anything from the bad diarrhea and stomachache again. Interesting experience. We went for lunch. I equate it to hibachi: something you go to for fun not because the food is amazing. Our server was great, took her time explaining everything as it was our first time. The only annoyance was that the butter comes in those little mini wrapped plastic and foil packages, a hunk of butter at the table would have been much easier than opening a dozen mini packets. $6 for a draft beer was great but $10 for a virgin pina colada was a little steep. Hungry pot is super family friendly and a fun dining experience! You do have to choose the same option as your table though, so we agreed on doing the Korean bbq. The service was great and our server were super quick with bringing out our food as well as changing out our grill. Since opening in May we have gone 3 times! Twice for hot pot and Korean bbq and once for the Cajun seafood. Both times for hot pot and Korean bbq were on the weekend or for dinner as the weekend hosts the dinner menu all day. We decided to get both hot pot and Korean bbq bc we realized the vegetables are just better in the hot pot even some we grilled and then added to the pot for even more layered flavoring. $5 extra for hot pot or bbq is totally worth it. We essentially get all our meats ordered on the bbq side and then do the vegetables for the soup. We love mixing our sauces at the sauce bar and even the fried chicken, kimchi, egg rolls and orange slices are a great addition. The Cajun seafood boil was great! Could definitely use extra sausage and shrimp but the snow crab, corn and potatoes were just right. We split the combo that included a lobster tail, snow crab and shrimp. We added pasta to it and that definitely helped fill out the meal along with some edamame to start. Overall it's a great new spot to swing into for a quick seafood lunch or a nice dinner date creating different dishes together on the central table bbq. read more

I am not sure what exactly could have caused this from Hungry Pot, but this was all I had ate so there's nothing else it could be. We were initially told that the wait was about 30 minutes but then we were notified that our table was ready 6 minutes later. We got sat down and knowing how all you can eat hot pot and barbecue places work we didn't need an explanation on how to order. I don't remember the name of our server was he was very attentive to our table and helped us out in our orders for each round. The food you order comes out about 1-2 minutes later, which was phenomenal for how busy it was, and empty plates were constantly being cleared off of tables as we were eating our meal. The soup bases are good, a little less seasoned than we were used to but still had flavor, the meat was clearly fresh and veggies were too. And if I'm being honest, the beef bulgogi is probably the best I've had than any other place I've ordered from, whether in New York or in Connecticut. (However avoid the garlic chicken for the barbecue) I've seen some reviews on here complain about the music sound level, but I didn't have much of an issue with it, and it seemed a reasonable volume to me with how busy it was. Don't think I've had a worse restaurant experience in my life. Was immediately greeted by a rude host that wouldn't sit my group of 3 unless we knew what we wanted. After sitting our waiter immediately came over for our drink order which is normally great but it's not so great when it happens before we even get menus. We decided to build our own seafood boil and split it. We ordered a 1 1/2 pounds of king crab as our main for the boil which is about $120 worth of king crab. After our waiter took our order he returned to our table to ask us if he wanted more food....? I immediately thought it was a strange thing to ask considering I ordered about 120 dollars worth of crab leg. After responding with "no" our waiter then responded with "oh well sometimes they get mad if you share food with others." I was pretty appalled at this statement because who is "they" and why would any management get angry at customers for spending money at their establishment? I wish I left after the waiter said this but we decided to stay and it only got worse. The waiter brought out our boil and there was 1 piece of corn, 1 potato, and 1 pound of king crab after we called him out and he told us it's only 1 pound and not the 1 1/2 pounds we ordered.
