When the place was on Hampden, it was jumping! And we would wait for an hour to eat, because it was worth it, but after they moved to Havana, disappeared, and then now they're back... I don't know. I may have to pop up and try again, but I personally have issues with constant motion and inconsistency. When I've gone, I've had the ribs, beans, Mac n cheese and potato salad. All pretty fire, but I personally am conflicted with going back, getting my hopes up, and then they disappear again. Save yourself the time and stomach ache!!! DO NOT EAT HERE!!! Sometimes I am always wondering why black owned restaurants don't seem to thrive in denver/Aurora. Well I can tell you exactly why this place won't be around long. First I believe this is their 3rd location, this one is currently off of Mississippi and Uvalda. Ok so I actually kinda liked their food at their second location off of Hampden, then out the blue they closed down and I heard it was tax related I'm not sure to be honest but when I heard they re- opened in Aurora I was like oookay let's check them out. Ambiance- 2 of out 10, I'm assuming most of their business is carry out because there aren't many tables or booths as a matter of fact like 3 tables and 2 booths. When you walk in you are karate chopped in the throat with the smell of smoke, not mouth watering BBQ aroma, that smoky smell when you are putting the grill out for the night. Service- 5 of 10, They had 2 people in there the lady was the host and server. I will admit Sis was nice but nothing to write home about. When we ordered our drinks and initially we're disappointed she gladly replaced them. Food- 0 out of 10... come on my black peoples we have got to do better!! I ordered the hot link sandwich with a side of potato salad and collard greens. We (my daughter and I) also ordered the grape kool laid and sweet tea. I'll start with the drinks the kool aid was not grape it was a mixture of grape and tropical punch and it was simply flavoring... no sugar it needed to be diluted with water and have sugar added bad!! The sweet tea simply was not sweet, we had to ask for extra sugar like whyyy. The collard greens were glory greens that they tried to Dr up but epically failed, they added some type of sweetener to the dam greens! Whyyyyyyyyyyyyy, I literally almost threw up!! The potato salad looked very much light skinned and store bought and lacked and seasoning it was giving Safeway deli. The hot link was so shriveled up and dry it was definitely made yesterday. Overall, I will not be returning. I even gave the waitress my feedback she went to share with the owner/chef and he didn't have the decency to come to the table and make it right, apologize or anything. Honestly can't go wrong with this place! I'm not a big bbq fan at all, but I will never turn down a three meat combo from Hungry Wolf! The owner and his employees are all spectacular! I called one day when they were supposed to be closed(we weren't sure of the hours), the owner answered and was more than happy to satisfy our Hungry Wolf cravings that day. I ordered a pan of chitlins for Thanksgiving this year, and let me tell you...these have got to be the WORST chitlins I've ever had. First, I was charged $120 for the smallest pan. It does not feed 3-4 people. Second, when I got home and looked at the chitlins, they were all fat. They were not clean, and they had a sour taste to them. I could not eat the entire pan because all of it was bad. They were chopped up extra small to cram the most into the pan. Do NOT come here and get chitlins at ALL. read more

I went into the restaurant @5:31. I was then told it would be about 10 more minutes. I ask the lady why does my keep getting pushed back? The lady at the counter texting on her phone stated " we just put anything into the machine. If we get busy, it will take longer." I said how does that make sense. I just told them to cancel it. Hungry wolf has been one of our favorite spots to eat since we moved here. I used to take everyone who visited to try it! I l still crave it and have been missing it so much since they temporarily closed. All of the sides are amazing and the rib tips are out of control delicious. Hush puppies, slaw, and Mac are so good. Honestly I don't know what was better the food or the staff, the staff was so friendly and helpful. The two girls in there worked very well together and we're very attentive. They constantly check to see if we needed anything, and when I had explained it was our first time they were super helpful. The food was amazing. My husband and I shared a little bit of different meats the links the coleslaw was absolutely delicious and the sweet potatoes were so good. I tried this place when they were on Hampden. They haven't changed a bit. My brisket sandwich was moist and full of smoke flavor. They give you way more meat than will fit on the bun. They have a sweet and mild sauce, or a spicy sauce. Both are damn good, so I mixed them. I had the potato salad for my side. I usually prefer a mustard potato salad, theirs is more on the sweet side, but I really enjoyed it. My buddy had the pork sandwich, I tried the pork. Same as brisket. Nice smokiness. He got hushpuppies and gave me a couple. Legit! Staff are super nice. They also do soul food on Saturdays, so next time I'll be ordering oxtails and neck bones. I ordered catering for Christmas which was delivered today after them telling me I wasn't going to get my order. Three meats and three sides for $250. This order fell short. A very small amount of Brisket enough for 2 people to make a sandwich which was suppose to be for 10 people. I did not get $250 dollars worth of food. Sausage, ribs and three sides were ok. Small group of 4 ordered food for delivery from Hungry Wolf BBQ in Aurora CO. We received the order, the food was refrigerator cold and wasn't what we ordered. Hungry Wolf employee did call and asked if they could replace a side item due to being out. We said yes. The problem; they also replaced an entire meal. We call the restaurant and the woman that we talked with tried to gaslight us and said she tried to call about the meal. (she did call and we talked with her about a side item) They changed the charge of the meal we wanted to the meal we received that we didn't want/order only after discussing this for a long long time. I ordered through Grubhub for a curbside pick up. I drove 25 minutes to pick up my order. I called several times when I arrived and the number listed keeps going to a busy tone so I walked into the restaurant and waited for the staff to finish talking to the customers in front of me. As soon as he saw me he didn't greet me but looked annoyed and said we're closed and waved me off! I tried to explain to him I did a mobile order, he then proceeded to tell me they've ran out of everything and don't take mobile orders. It turns out all three customers that were in front of me were going through the same issue. I can understand if our order didn't show up on his side but he could've handled it better than treating his customers like inconveniences. They sell chitterlings, 1st time I ordered, they gave me chitterlings. 2nd time I ordered chitterlings, they gave me hog maws, and only 3 little chitterlings. Hubs and I were famished and new to the area, and happened upon this place. Hungry Wolf's humble atmosphere only adds to the authenticity of the experience; the food is the focus. Great menu and when our orders arrived, O. M. G. I was in Southern heaven. This place is an oasis of BBQ done RIGHT: succulent meats, indulgent sides, generous portions with a smile. The moist, sweet cornbread was just like Mom's. The hush puppies were (sorry Mom) better than Mom's (hard not to dry those out)! We got everything we could sample; we always order different things and try each other's entrees, sides and desserts. Everything was perfection. Gosh were we full, and took some home. I recommend anything and everything on the menu and it's no exaggeration; hubby felt the same. I felt like a kid again savoring each item. Nothing was dry; everything was flavorful, perfect texture; I literally teared up from how much it was like from back home in that chapter of my life (moved around a bit). If that weren't enough, the people were sweet, good-hearted hospitable folks that love their jobs and their customers. I wanted to hug everybody there.
