I ask to just brighten up the top half of my hair to match the bottom and it's gorgeous. She is very sweet, kind and talented. I will definitely be going back to her again. Justine Martin is an absolute gem! She has been my hairstylist since 2015. I wanted a stylist that was familiar and comfortable with color because I wanted to color my hair blue, and so I was referred to her by a friend. I checked out her insta page & saw all her awesome work and booked an appointment. Since then, she's been my go-to gal while in Southern California. She's super sweet, extremely talented, and very accommodating. She colored my hair blue (beautifully, by the way), then when I moved to New York she removed the blue & gave me nice highlights, that would grow out nicely and low maintence keep up because I was moving there with no go-to stylist. Once I moved back to California and was in desperate need a new cut and color session, I went straight back to Justine! She just gave me an adorable cut & a nice darker shade. All of her different colors and cuts with me can been seen in the photos of this post. The salon as a whole has very nice and friendly staff! Before I go and review this salon, I have to give mad props to the D'Aversa across the street for recommending me to this one because all their stylists were fully booked....woot! And double woot to Kristina for fixing the mess atop my head. It was a total massive reconstruction effort that she expertly assessed and tackled with confidence and skill. I had walked in yesterday with a look of desperation, I let down the mane, and she had begun calculating the formula to nurse my wounded hair back on the road to recovery. I was very happy with my color correction and haircut and especially happy that she didn't express any over-zealosness with the scissors. She performed a miracle on this head of thick, textured, and wavy hair! I have finally found a keeper in a stylist in Long Beach, a city whose salons rival the number of Starbucks. I waited 11 long weeks between appointments, and my highlights (dark blonde/brown/chestnut.. against dark dark brown base) still looked good. She does some kind of magic highlight placement that grows out beautifully. It was so good in fact that I actually forgot that I was due for an appointment. I went in for my most recent appointment being fairly clueless on what I wanted to do with my hair. We figured it out together while she was doing my color. I found a picture and everything. I left the salon thinking "well, it doesn't look like the picture, but I still love it"! Some of the talent working at this location is FABULOUS!!! My hairdresser is absolutely incredible!!! Craig is brilliant (in many ways), understands the nature of the chemicals with which they work in the industry, and thus knows exactly how to get the result he wants, while at the same time ensuring the highest degree of health to one's hair. And this is key given that we double-process my hair. I'm not kidding ... people stop me on the street to tell me they love my hair and ask what I do to keep it in such great condition. This is all Craig's doing. While I'm well past the stage, given the corporate environment in which I work, of doing any crazy thing to my hair that pops into our head, I can say from years of experience with Craig that his creativity and style sense is just top notch. There were many years when I changed looks --- sometimes radically --- every six weeks, and we had more fun than you can imagine with style and color. I used to tell Craig the "mood" I wanted to project and feel and he'd always come up with something perfect. Beyond the fact that he's wonderful and I adore him as a person, I also travel a considerable distance to see Craig because he is so talented.
