Fehrenbacher Hoff is the coffee shop next door to Goose Hollow Inn and is owned by the same folks. Pretty sure you can order most of the same food there (at least the Reuben). Great coffee and pastries but the winner is probably the vegetarian breakfast sandwich. It's so incredibly tasty. Unfortunately it's not vegan (I asked) IIRC the bread and cheese both have dairy. Great service and cute spot.

This was a lovely place to stop for coffee on a cool fall day! The counter area is pretty small, but there are tons of decorations everywhere and it feels very quaint and cozy. Towards the back, there is additional seating, including the room we sat in with big couches, plush chairs, and little goose statues. There was some Halloween decor up as well for a seasonal touch. Our coffee was very good, came quickly, and because we ordered in, served in two large mugs. It wasn't too sweet, and my partner liked his mocha best. I really enjoyed my latte, but I wouldn't have minded a little sweeter. That's a personal preference though, and I am on the abnormal end of coffee sweetness, I've found. Both drinks were very creamy and very hot-- perfect for sipping while you chat. I also saw that if you order drip coffee, you can choose a mug to take home with you-- how fun! The person working the counter was the owner (I believe) and he was super friendly to us and everyone else who came through. It's clear this place has regulars and he makes an effort to learn their names. I would love to come back again, and next time I will make a point to try one of their breakfast sandwiches. They looked and smelled great, and they can be made vegetarian!

Referred to as "the Hof," this café inside an old house is certainly unique. It was owned by former mayor of Portland Bud Clark and is now run by his family. It was named for his wife Sigrid. I can see the vision... A gathering place for students and poets, somewhere to hide out upstairs, somewhere for coffee but also somewhere to meet people. The place is decorated with Sigrid's antique toasters, egg beaters, violins, and various other items. It's like an antique store tidied up for guests. Ultimately, it didn't quite work for me, as it felt more dirty and chaotic than charming and quaint. The seating areas had both uncomfortable chairs and minimal pathways to walk by. I got a specialty drink (caramel turtle). The barista had to find me to confirm which one I asked for. It was alright, mostly just tasted like an iced coffee. It came in a to-go cup, so after wandering through the house, I took it to my difficult-to-find parking spot in the area and headed out. It might not be my first choice but I'd give this place another try if I were in the area and in need of caffeine. From other reviews, it looks like folks really enjoy their food as well.

Okay. Hard to describe this place and the experience it provides... maybe start with 'welcomed oddity' or 'unapologetically quirky' as options? Either way, yes. This is a cozy, unique, distinct and beautiful place. Great options for seating outdoors and indoors... the upstairs space was definitely inviting. I'm going to hang out there next time. They serve Coava coffee and Jasmine Pearl tea, so they know what they're doing. I had a latte and a Marionberry muffin. Both were outstanding. Parking is moderately difficult and only available on the street. This place isn't fancy or polished or even modern. It's a mixture of uniqueness with a smattering of unabashed quirks. It's very Portland, and it's definitely something to talk about with your friends

I've had this place bookmarked ever since I saw their corned beef breakfast sandwiches! I'm rarely in this area so I came to explore this past weekend and it did not disappoint. It's near the Goose Hollow Inn and is a cute shop tucked away in a building that looks like a home. As you enter, you're greeted with their pastry case (looked great as well). However, I knew what I was coming for and while you can add bacon or sausage I had to get the corned beef for $1.50. It took around 5 mins or so to get the sandwich. The place is fairly small so I was lucky to grab a spot outside and even saw a pig! As for the sandwich, it was perfectly gooey with melted cheese and a crisp english muffin. The slice of tomato adds a nice contrast to the other ingredients and the corned beef was thin so you could get it with each bite. For $8 I was not disappointed and would come back to get it again. Didn't try the coffee this time but the reviews look pretty good so need to check that out as well.

Got off the max and while waiting for my ride realized it's a beautiful sunny day for a hot latte went for the latte and heard someone getting a lavender latte and I was like oh noooo that sounds so good. She was super nice and gave me a lavender shot in my latte. So delicious.

The BEST breakfast sandwich's in Portland. Homemade food vibes and taste like home made, filling, quick and inexpensive. 10/10

Place is so cute. Small but very cozy has a real good vibe. Coffee is tasty and always served with a smile. I also had the breakfast burrito which was nicely filled - not too big but still filling. The pastries are yummy as well. So if you like me and have a dentist appointment this is a good place to reward yourself :)

Dependent on your order, he pulls out the cream for the top. I can see the black sesame cream top being very thick and full. A lot of patrons were ordering their tiramisu latte, and I don't blame them! It's what is very popular here. Personally, I enjoyed the black sesame latte very much. It was the perfect amount of cream and sweetness. The taste didn't overpower the coffee, which is nice. Their mochi donuts were good, too, with the consistency of mochi dough. I tried the tiramisu latte and the black sesame latte. The tiramisu latte was easily my favorite. The cream top is rich and delicious, and when mixed into the coffee it really tastes like a classic tiramisu dessert. It's sweet, smooth, and feels like a treat without being overwhelming. The black sesame latte was also great, especially if you like nutty flavors. It has a natural sweetness with a deep roasted sesame taste that almost reminds me of peanut butter, making it both comforting and unique. I've also had their regular latte before and really appreciate the quality of their espresso. The coffee itself has a smooth, balanced flavor that stands out even without added syrups or toppings. A great spot to visit if you enjoy creative specialty drinks but still want genuinely good coffee underneath it all.

It manages to be effortlessly cool without being intimidating, and the quality of the coffee is consistently top-tier. Here is why it's my favorite corner of the Pearl District: The Coffee Curation: What sets Barista apart is that they are a multi-roaster cafe. They feature a rotating selection of the best beans from across the country (and locally!). Whether you're drinking a pour-over or a traditional macchiato, the flavor profiles are always distinct and expertly pulled. Masterful Latte Art: The baristas here are true artists. Every drink looks like a masterpiece, but more importantly, the milk texture is always silky and perfectly steamed. The Aesthetic: The space is stunning. With its dark wood accents, industrial-chic lighting, and those massive windows looking out onto the cobblestone streets of the Pearl, it's the perfect spot to people-watch or get lost in a book. It feels like a cozy, sophisticated library for coffee lovers. The Staff: Despite being one of the busiest spots in the neighborhood, the staff is incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. They are always happy to nerd out about tasting notes or help you pick a bag of beans to take home. The Vibe: It's a great balance of "neighborhood regular" and "must-visit destination." It captures that classic Portland energy perfectly. Pro Tip: Pair your drink with one of their fresh pastries--their selections are always fresh and complement a bold espresso perfectly. Love how amazing the staff is. And the coffee is chef's kiss. Thank you!

The single origin had some promise, with some pleasant acidity in the background, but it couldn't break through the bitter.
