1045 am, Friday, September 5, 2025, I went to Lifeguard HQ to apply for a HB Parking pass. Plenty of parking at this time of day. There was a table set up outside with blank applications and pens. There was a sign that also said 1 occupant in the lobby at a time, something to that effect. Interesting... We're no longer in COVID protocol but it's posted on the entry. Good thing, I was the only one there at the time. Okay, I completed the application outside and had my required documents to receive my complimentary pass courtesy of Norm Reeves Honda Huntington Beach. Easy peasy, the documents were photocopied. I was handed the parking sticker and told a summary of what to do. Everything is explained in the paperwork included with the pass. The city clerk/lifeguard was very friendly. I was done in about ten minutes and out of there. read more

One of the beaches closest to home is a very special place for me, so I thought I would take a moment to write about it. I love this beach, especially during summer, when the sunsets are absolutely stunning. It's a great spot for letting the kids run free while I take a moment to center myself. However, it's always important to keep a close eye on the kids. The water can be shallow, and the waves can pull you in unexpectedly. We had a great time. read more

Huntington beach is well known as surf city, but it has a very nice collection of restaurants, shops, eateries, rental places along Main Street, which extends through the small town and then to the pier. My review is mostly of Main Street and the shops. The layout of the town is very nice, elegant, and has a charm to it. They have a few really well known places to visit like Duke's seafood restaurant, Jack's Surfboards (which is huge), the Sugar Shack cafe, Bruno's, and a very modern and cool looking Starbucks! They have surf rental and bicycle rentals shops, a badkin robbins, and even a rocky mountain chocolate shop. There are a lot of places to eat and shop at, and they have a nice beach as well. I recommend a day trip here, and some sunshine. read more

I wish I lived closer! I tend to frequent Newport Beach due to proximity. But we decided to try out Huntington Beach because we had a photoshoot scheduled by the pier. It was on a weekend morning. Parking was a nightmare. Just the traffic to enter the lot was backed up. And then walking over took a while too. But once we got that out of the way, we did the photoshoot and then walked along the beach. The kids played in the water. There are attentive lifeguards on duty. One came running over to us to tell us not to hang out in the water by the pier pillars as there are underwater riptides. Something we would never have known. There are lots of restaurants along the way to stop and grab a bite. One thing that bothered me was the loud cars driving on that strip. They seemed to just be going in circles and staying on the strip looking for attention. read more

Beautiful beach town with lots of things to do. This beach is relatively big on comparison to other beach towns in Orange County. There's lots of events that happen here from competitions to festivals. My biggest positive remark is how proactive the lifeguards are here. This is a long over due thank you to the lifeguards here. Long story short 2 family members of mine were swimming deeper into the ocean. What seemed like a casual swim turned out to be more serious than expected. To the untrained eye, it seemed like these 2 folks were having a playful swim together however there was an underwater whirlwind that was making them sink deeper. The bodyguard then immediately and effectively pulled them out of the water to safety. Thank you so much. Don't remember his name but he was so proactive and professional. As many times as we been here we have never actually spent a day on the beach. Im always hesitant to go to a Cali beach -being from Hawaii, unfortunately I cant help to compare lol. This was our first time laying out and enjoying the beach. It was 4th of July and IT WAS BUSY! What made it extra busy and packed was the main street they closed down and they had a 4th of July parade. There is parking located right in front of beach along with street parking but because of the parade we had to park in one of the neighborhoods. Across the beach there are many shops and food spots to check out and walk around. There is also beach equipment rentals also. Considering how busy it was, we found a perfect spot not too far from shore and enjoyed the perfect weather. The pier wasn't too far from where we were. My boys enjoyed playing in the sand and running around in the water. It was cold but once you're in it isnt too bad. It aint the beach Im used to being from Hawaii but it was doable. We all enjoyed our day. Anyways definitely worth visiting when you need to cool off or just hang out on the beach. Would definitely come back and preferably not on a holiday. read more

Have been to Disneyland and this part of California but never been to this beach. This time got recommendation from my office colleague to decided to go and we were surprised with this place. Great vibe, clean beaches, plenty of shower and restroom areas, parking was nearby and was not expensive. Has plenty of restaurants as well nearby. This beach checks all the expectations from a beach needs. I would highly recommend this spot. read more

A beautiful hot day to spend the day at the beach with our family friends. It was hot out so we needed something to do with the kids so we decided to meet here and do a bonfire. We road around a little, I used my electric scooter. We walked around a little on Main Street because they had a little surf fair thing going on with lots of vendors and food and snacks and music and bands. The kids got shaved ice, which was delicious baby girl got cotton candy and her friend got bubblegum and cotton candy. We watch the bands play a little bit. Got some chips and salsa somewhere. Road back to our car and then we set up a little bonfire. Brought blankets and food and snacks and lots of laughter and smiles. It was an amazing day at the beach with friends. It was nice to just sit out on our chairs and just watch the fire and make hot dogs and s'mores. It was such a beautiful night cool breeze and watch the beautiful sunset by the beach was the best it's been so long. There is a lot of other people doing bonfires too. We've been going to Corgi Beach Day for a few years now, but this is the first year it was moved from the actual dog beach down closer to the pier where parking is more accessible and greatly appreciated. Actual bathrooms instead of porta potties are also an improvement, although the stalls are tight and the sinks outside don't have soap. The vendor stalls have a lot of cute merchandise, there's a few food trucks to choose from, and the main stage events are fun to watch, especially Fetch Fanatic and the costume contests. It's a great excuse to enjoy a beautiful sunny day on the beach. read more

Wish there was more parking and more patrol on the homelessness around the area and drunkenness from other patrons but it's pretty safe. My last review was during the pandemic, well thanks for nothing Newsom, he ran Ca to the ground n now fancies himself 2028 POTUS. HB has not completely recovered to its former glory but it's getting there, my favorite restaurant w its iconic huge mechanical bull sort of a replica from John Travolta "urbancowboy"went under, the replacement "begood" also went under just 2 weeks ago. Longboard has recovered 100% but lost some business to Sandbar taco n cantina right next door. The ramen restaurant was really lame n went out of business n now replaced by a PHO Restaurant!! It's about time a pho resto came to the beach, I hope they will do well but it's hard as the surfer boys n girls are not into pho, they are into tacos n booze! lol but we will see its a novelty n there are a lot of hotels around here, I'll tell my sister who owns a beachfront house but she spends all her time in Palm spring in her condo, she loves pho, I'll try to convince my beach bum buddies to support the resto too. I was shocked Avila went out of business, again they lost business to Sandbar. I love HB, surf city, it's the all American quaint town, the last Reagan country city, it's where the action is, perhaps Newport City or Laguna beach might be more beautiful but only in HB we have the air show I love the blue Angels, every year the USOPEN of surfing w the best surfers fr around the world came to compete. Every other week end there are luxury car show, classic car show, low riders you name it, Ducati competition, my nephew Ducati was stolen so he's not racing here n of course there's a farmers market every Tuesday, I think I have covered in full all the change/update to this beautiful surf city, for all the above excitement HB is 5 stars baby! . read more

What can I say, Huntington Beach is a SoCal classic. The views at sunset are unparalleled, and it is so nice just to take a walk along the beach (which is very pedestrian friendly), or you can have a picnic/little bonfire right there on the shore. It's very close to tons of shops and restaurants too, so you have all the choices to eat. Last time I came with friends we were also able to play volleyball at a court on the beach - the vibes are just overall great. Only trouble I would mention is parking; it's available, it's just not centralized. Nevertheless, if you're eating somewhere or shopping nearby, you can always park in those places. I come to this beach pretty much every time I'm in SoCal - I think it's one of the most quintessential to the area. Would def rec :) read more

Huntington beach/ HBC, surf city are the names we called it in OC. Eventhough OC is filled with most gorgeous beaches in the world but Huntington is have a huge big place in my heart.Its very busy during weekend and i prefer to explore it in weekdays but even when weekend coming and the weather is lovable I drive to HBC. The Downtown is like there... It's full of great restaurants, stores and hotels...It's fun to see all the surfers in beach! It has exciting high vibes! You can bike or surf or just be there chill. Today we were there for all most 7-8 hours and as always i didnt feel it while time doesnt mean anything in this beach. We drove bike and walk all way long! We enjoyed bar/ restaurant hoping and ended up to add sweet to our memories. There is also many parking lot in this area some of them you should pay online and the rest in person. read more

Pacific coast high way / 9th st. Between tower 8 &10 has restrooms , kids playground, bike parking and accessible ramp to the beach . Streets parking available, coins or Cc accepted . Huntington Beach can be a little crowded at times, but I love coming here when I am Orange County. I love the beach culture and the vibes here. I don't surf, but I like to ride my longboard on the boardwalk and float on my boogie board. Huntington Breach is a 10 mile long stretch of sandy beaches and is nicknamed "Surf City". Newport Beach is just south of this area. One of the world's largest surf competition called The US Open of Surfing takes place here in the summer. The waves can be a little stronge at times, but I love it. I love the workout fighting the waves and have caught some good ones on my boogie board. I like to walk on the pier and watch all of the other surfers on their boards and the sunset. Downtown Huntington Beach is pretty cool. There are lots of places to shop and eat at. I will usually pick up a few items at a surf shop and then grab some Wahoo's after a long day at the beach. They have an Artisan Fair on Fridays and occasional weekends where you can pick up some local artwork. Parking isn't too bad on the weekdays if you get here early enough. Weekends can be more challenging. Huntington Beach is home to the Huntington Beach International Surfing Museum. There is lots of memorabilia here if you enjoy surf history. read more

Oh baby, Huntington Beach. Believe it or not, it is still my favorite beach of all of California beaches. No matter what good or bad reputation this beach may get. If you live in Fountain Valley like I do, the beach is just seconds or minutes away. I love the people and the food here. They have great surf boards and boogy boards to rent out. Life guards are awesome here. They have life guard training here during the summer for men and women. We have Summer US Open Of Surfing. Me and my girlfriend were at the Jet Planes festival which has been held for 3 years this past weekend. I said it wrong, I apologize. I drove the 1-A not knowing exactly where I was heading but looking for a view and a beach. I stumbled upon Huntington simply by driving by it. I noticed it was a long public beach area, no cost to enter and had a pier and it ended up being my favorite beach I visited the week I was the area. This beach has a long public area and pier in the middle. Volleyball nets, public restrooms, showers, steps with a view and a small area with a gift shop and restaurant. The sand here was beautiful and clean. The walking areas were well taken care of wide enough for people to walk both ways. The pier was nice to walk down and see out further. I enjoyed sitting on the pier and watching the surfers catch waves and just watching the ocean view. It was chilly here with the wind - not many people in the water and those that were had wet suits on - bring long sleeves. There is a true oceanside/beachside restaurant here right under the start of the pier. It looked good and had a nice crowd when I was by there. I would love to try it but had already eaten upon arriving here. There is street parking with a meter or a couple of lots near the pier where you pay on your phone. Both had open spaces and were affordable to park close. If you are anywhere close to here and looking for a beach, I recommend this one. read more

i went to americas tire and they replaced my tires they did a front end allignment. it worked fantasticly no squeaks tight turns even though; i had it done two years ago from american tire depot when before i bumped it. it squeaked and i told them; smericsn tire depot After the sllingment it still squeaked snd they smericsn tire depot said they think a rock got into the bsck rotor and it needed more work what a bunch of bull i drove for two years with the stearing comprimized until i went to americas tire company on springdale in hb and they did a fantastic job! read more

We've been coming here for years and always have a great experience! We like to arrive early and park near the pier (it's a paid lot with an automated booth) but getting there early guarantees us a good spot within walking distance of the beach. Just a heads-up: if you try to find parking after 8 AM, it gets tough! The beach is clean, and the area near the pier is super convenient, close to shops and restaurants. We usually stay for a few hours and head out around noon, just as the crowds start rolling in. It's become our tradition to grab lunch and coffee for the drive home. Always a fun and relaxing summertime outing! read more

This beach has the most fire pits of any other OC beach. It's also the longest stretch beach with lots of fee parking, and restaurants right at the sand. No dogs allowed at the main beach though, but at Goldenwest and PCH there is the official HB dog beach, and it is a very nice sized one too. Huntington really has everything. read more

Very clean beach from the areas that I saw. Parking was $15 so that is fine. The beach was decently free of litter and you did not see many homeless around like some other beaches. Felt pretty safe though did not see many police or beach security as it was surprising or unsettling as it would be great to see more patrols just in case. Beach bathrooms are complete shit so I would not go in there. read more
