Nothing fancy; just clean and check the unit for the summer. That's when they came to my house and told me that my unit had over five problems, including leaking refrigerant, bad capacitors, electrical work, etc. Funny enough, their first quote was for 8k, which was to "fix these terrible problems." However, they gave me another crazier solution, to get a brand new unit, which was only 2 tons for a small house for 11k. Kid, you not. I went and got a second opinion, and as I suspected, my HVAC connections weren't the prettiest, but had no problems. The other HVAC professional also found out that they only cleaned a portion of the unit, so he installed a new disconnect, re-did my drain line, sealed my flashing, and rewashed my unit for $600 bucks. Do it at your own risk. I have never seen something like this, not even when I used to live in NY they tried to upcharge me like that.

If he wasn't going to show, he could have at least had the decency to tell me. At least then I could have contacted a different company and not had to go 5 days with no AC.

He promised he'd stay involved and keep communication flowing. That held up briefly, then he completely disappeared... and so did his father, Robert Senior, who had "taken over" operations. I would hardly call his lack of communication and strong lack of customer service "taking over." My tenant dealt with ongoing AC issues for over a month, sometimes with no working air during hot summer days. Every time I was told the issue was resolved--whether it was the thermostat, the board, the float switch, or then a mysterious plumbing issue--something else would go wrong. I asked repeatedly for a clear breakdown of what was fixed, when, and by whom. I was told it would be emailed. I gave my email address, correctly spelled, six different times. Still never received the paperwork and it has now been almost THREE MONTHS. To make matters worse, when I tried to get clarity, Robert Senior called me and snapped. I remained calm and professional throughout, but the lack of accountability and the dismissiveness were inexcusable. At the end of the day, I had to micromanage every step just to keep things from falling apart. This company may be family-run, but the communication and professionalism were anything but warm or reliable. And this is putting all of the above lightly. I could post screen shots of all our text messages but that would take me a long time and I've already wasted more than enough on waiting around on these two. Would not recommend. I had a 3 ton AC unit installed. They replaced my old unit with a new one in…read morea different location that was convenient for them. This meant not putting the unit further back in the crawl space but right in the way of my crawl space entrance. This also meant installing a new pad that sits beside my already large and accommodating pad for the units, which also blocks a sprinkler head. The pump/drain installed was put right next to the house so water would drain between the foundation of my house and the pad. That also created a lot of algae buildup. I fixed this myself. Does the unit blow cold air, yes. Is this quality work? Not in the slightest. Despite this experience I called this company out to have my air ducts looked at for potential cleaning. A recommendation was made to have my air ducts cleaned. The quote received referenced systems being cleaned. It was NOT clear when they first came out they would only be doing 1 of 2 systems. I learned this while the work was being done. I reached out to express my frustration that a $1200 duct cleaning was only for 1 of the 2 systems. I received a call back with the technician citing he only looked at one system. The technicians explanation and the quote did not make it clear that only 1 system would be cleaned. Strange too that the odor that triggered this duct cleaning was on the system they installed. I had no issues with the original system that was there for 13 years. I will not only NOT recommend this company, I'll go out of my way to warn others. There are plenty of companies looking to earn peoples business, and I'm glad to give it to them.

Trip charge was $109 to basically tell us to turn it off and they would be back the next day. Said he couldn't charge the gas because it would just run out. Night of heavy sweating. As they said, they came out the next day and analyzed the issue. $300 for leak detection. Once they found it we were told, even under warranty, it would be $2100. I do not like to get one opinion so I called our normal company. They came right out, found the leak without $300 leak detection and said it would be $800 out the door. In addition he charged it and said it would last us a week and call if we needed him before then. I do give credit to Covenant for coming out but charging us 3 times as much was ridiculous.
