Love this place! It took maybe 15mins to get seated, order taken, and our food freshly delivered to us. I got the #33 mini and a grilled pork banh mi. Everything was great! The pho soup was hot when it came out and we got all the toppings such as the Thai basil, the bean sprouts, and lemon! The banh mi was delicious and it was perfectly crisped! And also their Thai tea? I frequently stop by this location regular times for a quick pick up of my bahn ki and thai tea. It was one of my favorite lunch spots because it was close to where i work, making it fast and convenient to grab a meal during a busy day. Parking was also easy , which was a huge plus. My wife and I just got back from a long trip and decided to stop by Huong Lan since it's her favorite place for pho. Unfortunately, this isn't the first time we've had an issue like this. We ordered a large Pho #31, and when the food came out we found about three pieces of hair on the tendon meat. It honestly looked like nose hair, which completely grossed us out. The frustrating part is that the food itself actually tastes great, which is why we keep coming back. The staff are nice people too, but the food handling doesn't seem great. Finding hair in the food multiple times really makes you question the kitchen's hygiene and whether proper hand washing and food safety practices are being followed. I hope the restaurant takes this seriously and improves their cleanliness, because the pho itself is good -- but experiences like this completely ruin the meal. read more

I work down the street but never tried this place. Called in to place my order, when I got there the cashier told me one of my order was from an old menu. We had gotten the order for pickup so can't really speak to the inside. Food took a bit longer than suggested but still not very long for the pickup. I had gotten the vegetarian, compatriot had gotten the chicken. Good amount of ingredients for both and the broth worked well. I definitely liked that they had chili oil. Parking: Small open private lot. Atmosphere/Service: Casual; polite, friendly service. COVID-19 Protocol: Mask required for unvaccinated staff & guests, hand sanitizer by register, indoor dining (a bit too close for my comfort). I stopped by my aunt's for dinner before heading home, & tired of eating Chinese for the holiday weekend & not wanting to trouble them to cook dinner, my cousin suggested Vietnamese takeout at Huong Lan 11. Huong Lan 11 is sister to Huong Lan Sandwiches [refer to Review #180], which I did enjoy the Bún Thịt Nướng Chả Giò (Vermicelli Noodle with Grilled Pork & Egg Rolls) except for the overtly artificial & overly sweet Honeydew with Pearl (boba). I can still remember it after 3 years. :-X I called in & ordered RICE PORK CHOP (Cơm Sườn Nướng) for my aunt, SPECIAL COMBO NOODLE SOUP (Phở Đặc Biệt) with EGG NOODLES for my cousin, & a couple of SPECIAL #1 & #2 (Bánh Mì Đặc Biệt) for me & my hubby. It was a quick 10-min. ETA, & I arrived just a couple of minutes before my order was ready. The server/cashier was friendly & organized... everything was neatly packed with utensils & napkins. =) I ran into a traveler coming from Yosemite, inquiring if they were serving phở, & I tipped them off that Huong Lan 11 serves one of the best in the area before leaving. The noodles & rice were quite hefty, & the sandwiches also had weight to them. I love my phở & bánh mì, but the prices here... not so much. It's on par with the area, however living in S. CA, I can get them wayyy cheaper. My aunt & cousin were hangry since it's past their usual dinner time so I wasn't able to snap pics before they dug in... they don't believe in the "camera eats first" since it's always been first come first serve in their house. If you snooze, you lose... LOL ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ The pork chop was almost the size of the takeout container so it's pretty chunk of meat. There was a decent amount of noodles & protein for the Special Combo; I liked that they separated the noodles from the soup to prevent sogginess & you get more broth. My Bánh Mì Đặc Biệt was pretty filled with the cured meats & pickled veggies; it was a proportionate 1:1 bread:filling ratio, though it had a tad too much Mayo for my liking & could use a few more jalapeños. The toasted bread was crispy & fluffy, & you could tell it was fresh! =) This location makes a better bánh mì than its sis over by Fwy 41, which gave me a skimpier sandwich. These sandwiches are normally ranged in high $2s - mid-$3s in SGV are now in the low $4s with occasional deals that can drop down to the $3s (it's distant sister in San Jose runs in the $5s) hence my slight dissatisfaction. :-( Still it was a satisfying sandwich, though I was still stuffed from a lunch. Oh, 1 more thing... if you dine in with a bành mì, there's a 50¢ surcharge. :-X The dining room was mostly empty near 7 PM, but it might be due to the Independence Day holiday weekend & folks rather have BBQ than Vietnamese food, or patrons are ordering takeout. What to say about this Vietnamese place! It is empty! While traveling to Fresno, I stumbled across this hidden jewel on the side of Shaw Avenue. It didn't stick out and almost missed the turn to come thru. The parking lot is pretty big considering the fact this place is in the middle of a grassland surrounded by farmland. The food comes out slowly but that's because I received appetizers. Let's say about 30 minutes to get our food. A little absurd since no other customers were in the restaurant and there were three cooks in the back laughing in Vietnamese. The prices were moderate. Each vermicelli bowl ordered here was about $18 which is high but the amount of food was decent. The food tasted good, the highlight was the meat, shrimp and egg rolls. The downfall was the spring rolls. Although they were huge, they had too much rice noodle and just looked sloppy. The interior had phone charging stations without any form of WiFi. The people here are friendly and that's all there is to it. It tasted better than some of the other Vietnamese places I have been too. read more

First time at this location came in for dinner around 7pm. Friendly staff was greeted as we entered. Was told to take a menu and to take a seat anywhere we wanted. Mask was optional. We ordered our usual; large special combo noodle soup, spring rolls, combo fried rice and Thai tea with boba. The food came out hot and fast less than 10mins after we ordered. The food was good and large portioned. The boba on the Thai tea was okay it wasn't as soft as it should have been it if was fresh. They got alittle busy as crowds started to come in and they never refilled our waters. The restrooms were clean. Overall we had a fairly good experience I like how all of the huong lan locations stay really consistent to the flavors in their dishes. read more

They give you water, Pho was amazing great flavor, the bbq pork meat was very thin and I loved that. The large #28 my husband order was HUGE he didn't even finish it all. Egg rolls were great. Finally getting to my long overdue review of Huong Lan. This is their newest location (the other location I've been to is on Shaw and Fresno near Fashion Fair Mall) and closer to me. The inside is pretty clean and you usually pick where you would like to sit when you walk in unless you're getting takeout or have a large party. Unlike the other location they have to go containers out and a condiment bar you can help yourself too (bean sprouts, jalapenos, cilantro, peanuts, etc) for your pho/ food. The workers are nice and friendly. This place can and does get busy with the combination of sit down and take out orders. Often times they're short handed which can lead to added wait times for service. I've had occasions where it took a long time to get water refills. All of the tables are numbered on the napkin holders so when you get up to go pay at the front you give them your table number. If you put more than one table together that somehow seems to confuse them because on one occasion we had two table numbers, but they charged us for a different order. If we're taking up two table numbers there shouldn't be a reason someone else has that number. Despite the little hiccups here and there I genuinely enjoy this place. The parking lot is small and kind of cramped. My go to's are the #69 Vermicelli Bowl (with chicken) and the Seafood noodle soup. Their spring rolls and shrimp friend rice are pretty good as well. My boyfriend always orders the beef stew noodle soup. It looks good, but I don't eat red meat. They also have a bunch of iced or blended drinks you can order with boba or jellies. read more

This place is new and I appreciate that it is kept clean especially compared to the location on N. Fresno Street. Minus 1 star for the server who couldn't get the kids orders correct the first, second, or third time. The kids in our party all ordered Boba drinks, but the lady kept misunderstanding the flavors. My mother called and ordered the #39 chicken won ton soup and their shrimp spring rolls. The worker was very kind and said it would be a short wait for the chicken broth to be made. That wasnt a problem. We preferred the chicken broth over the beef broth. We were already waiting outside of the restaurant. She said she would let us know as soon as it's ready. First time here and a solid 4/5. This used to be keothip which was pretty average. So I was excited to give this place a go. I was here with my gf and we got the small order of egg rolls which were amazing! Great crisp and great flavor in every bite. A definite to get if you want an appetizer. I order rare beef pho for my main entree and my gf ordered the wanton soup. The pho was good, not great but good. To me it was in the flavor of the broth...could have had a bit more flavor notes that I'm used to with pho. Nevertheless, a good bowl. This is why I gave a 4 instead of a 5 for my review. That being said my gf said her wanton soup was the "best" she has ever had. I should mention it looked great too. Lastly, I want to say the layout of the restaurant was nice, bright, and open. Spacious! This new location is a bit far, but I am glad they are expanding their business to that side of the town because there isn't any pho shop around. This location used to be a Thai restaurant and now that Huong Lan has taken over and renovated, it is absolutely so much better. The restaurant looks up to par with the selections of table color, chairs, walls etc. just looks more bright and there's plenty of seatings. Food taste great as the same with the other locations, however the only complaint was the soup wasn't hot enough. We went around 2 ish so they weren't so busy, we waited a few mins til we were seated and ordered our food, it came out pretty quick to our table. Decent food but service could improve. The pho was decent. The meat was tender. The noodles were good. The broth was good. Very little onion and green onion in the pho. The shreddded chicken banh mi was fairly tasty but dry. It could have used a bit more sauce. The spring rolls were decent, too, but the sauce was a little "watery;" that is, not as strong as i am used to eating. The service started out wel, but after receiving the food, we never saw a server again. In fact, as soon as the cashier swiped my credit card, he walked away before i put in a tip and signed. I recently had the pleasure of dining at Hương Lan 11 in Fresno, and I can't recommend their broken rice dish enough! The special with pork skin and crispy tofu curd is a must-try, perfectly complemented by a tender and flavorful grilled pork chop. Additionally, their bánh bao and bánh mì are baked in-house, and you can literally smell the fresh bread aroma as soon as you walk in--truly a delightful sensory experience. Knocked off two stars for conduct. Came in at 8 pm. They close at 9 pm per posted hours. By 835 pm the server was rushing me and my party of one other person out. "You can go ahead and pay now, we'll be closing soon". That is so damn rude. This also happened once at the Fresno and Shaw location in Mission Village. I had just finished whispering to my guest that they had done this (rudely rush people out) once before at that location on Fresno street, and lo and behold not a moment too soon. I really want to like this place because the food is pretty good and it looks far better than the previous business in terms of aesthetics inside. But, I find that to be unacceptable and certainly a BAD habit and practice in terms of operating a restaurant business. Don't rush my meal, especially since there was still 25 minutes to closing. We needed a quick meal which it was. My wife requested a low sodium meal. She had a combination rice and vegetables; skimpy vegetables. No taste except for the pork fried pieces. Were served a sweet n sour watery dressing which helped. My pork chop was so hard, was like it had been precooked for the lunchtime and then reheated. My vegetables were fresh sliced okay: Most of the 30 tables were still full of dishes from lunch time an hour before. They had a big screen tv showing a basketball game. I hadn't been to a huong lan location in years but remember really liking their bahn mi. With this weird weather I had a huge craving for pho and didn't want to drive very far so I decided to try it again. It was a little dirty with dishes on every table when I went in, but whoever was bussing literally got it sparkling clean in 10 minutes. I can't remember which pho I ordered, but it had the flank steak and tendons, which I'll order again without the tendons. I kept mistaking the tendons for pho noodles and almost choked. Ha ha. Flavor was fantastic and all the condiments were brought ahead of time. Also ordered spring rolls which were good, I'd have preferred spicy sauce to the peanut sauce but I'm sure they have both. Knocking off 1 star because the service was poor, we had to get up and ask for water refills twice and the people near us were told to go to the front to order even though our order was taken at our table?
