Great family friendly restaurant with a fun theme. Came here with a large group of 13 people and without a reservation. Even still, they did a great job of accommodating us and we're very attentive to the needs of such a large unexpected group. The place was clean and not particularly busy given a Saturday evening. While visiting Long Island NY, my buddy wanted to go to a place that served fried pickles , that's what brought us to Hurricane grill ! The fried pickles were good and were paired with a zesty / tangy sauce. Unfortunately I didn't get a picture of those. But I did order the chicken fajita bowl. It's simple and brings everything a fajita would have. A few suggestions ; the rice was a bit bland , some salt or seasoning would make it just right ! Luckily there was yummy gooey cheese over it. The salsa that came with it was very "tomatoey" it needed some spice and a kick. The bowl was missing something , it would be great paired with chips, luckily my fiancés plate came with some so I was able to pick off from some of hers. Overall our visit was good. Went for burgers and wings. We've been here before but have no memories of it? (Always question why you don't remember). First let me say, our waitress was excellent. Food took way too long to get to the table even though other people that came later got theirs and were done before us. Burgers were ok. The wings had this hot sauce on them that was yellow and looked like some sort of melted cheese, however I thought that they were ok. My wife would t touch them, and that's why we came there..... for the wings. The cocktails were very good. The waitress took the wings off of the price. To be quite honest, the hurricane grill is a beautiful place with a great funky "on the water" vibe, but really , that's it. We came here for an event and decided to wait at the bar since we were a half hour early. Glad we did. The bartender was super friendly. They had pumpkin shipyard beer which was cold. The sugar rim was made perfectly and didn't drip all over the glass. They had a happy hour app special . $5 for fried pickles. They were crispy and had dipping sauce. My family and I have been going to this Hurricane location for over 4 years, but this Tuesday December 29, will be our last. This is a review on the female manager that was there on Tues night at 6:30pm. The server we had was nice, we asked to be moved when a party of 6 was seated very close to us and we were a party of 3 including my child, now given the times we are in you would think the manager would have reacted differently to my request. We asked the server if we can be moved to another table where other's aren't so close, the whole back area was empty, (again a slow Tuesday night), so the waitress said she will ask her manager, she came back and said that the manager said no, she didn't want to place anyone in that area, I asked if we can be moved to another table atleast, she said I totally understand as you guys are still wearing your mask and clearly feel uncomfortable, she goes and asks her manager again, (my husband was observing the managers body language while the waitress was asking and she was very annoyed). The manager comes to us now with an attitude and says I don't want to sit anyone in that area there's two tables there but one is dirty, (no Hi how are you, I do apologize etc.) so I said can you seat us at another table, this isn't 6 feet, there were two booths available one that needed to be cleaned but was a bit farther away so we chose that one, her annoyed reply was "fine and now I have to clean this table because you guys sat here", now we haven't even had our drinks served and our table had grains of rice, which I showed our waitress right before we decided to leave and eat somewhere else. The manager rudely walked away from our table while I was trying to tell her that our table hasn't even been cleaned properly, since she rudely said that just because we sat here she has to clean them again. I am surprised that during these times especiallyduring Covid, you shouldn't seat people so close and don't be so rude, we the customers trying to find some normalcy and helping to keep restaurants up by eating out, once in a while. This is very disappointing to us, as this is the same person we congratulated her on her engagement a month or so ago, now I guess the Hauppauge location will be where we will be heading to IF we decide to go back to any Hurricane location after this experience. Came to this location with family and friends for dinner. The wings are out of this world! The sauces they make for the wings are amazing and they provide an abundant selection. Our waitress was very friendly and did an outstanding job considering changes to the order and keeping our drinks from going dry! I highly recommend this location for its wings alone. This place is more like high end bar food and is an ideal place to watch the game on one of their large screen TVs while enjoying a meal. May not be ideal for all but from what I have experienced , the food quality was higher then anticipated, the atmosphere is casual . Check it out if you get the chance. read more

Why!! when part of your check is based on customer service can service not be delivered. Twice we have been into this place and have waited over 15 the first time and now 10 min to even be acknowledge. NO not busy. So we walked out and nobody even noticed us leaving. Maybe being black is a problem, maybe people just suck at their jobs. Walking in the place the noticeable spelling error on the front door would have me asking for a refund from the graphic designer. It's PREFERRED not Perferred. My parents really like this place and took my girlfriend and I there last night. The food was good. I got Mahi tacos and also ate some jumbo buffalo wings, firecracker shrimp and lettuce wraps with everyone. The prices were decent and service was OK. The waitress had forgotten our straws and my guacamole. The person who does the bill then forgot to remove the guacamole I never got from the bill. It just seemed a little hard to get the staff's attention. But they weren't bad by any means. It had a Florida/beach type atmosphere. However, I prefer Duffy's on Hoffman for my wings. Best part of the meal were the Angry Orchard, and the parmesan fries. The portion of the beachside chicken was on the small side, potato chips seemed a bit dry. I had the boneless sampler with Jamaican jerk, boss, garlic parmesan, and cajun. Everything was fairly dry, couldn't tell one from the next. Overall not impressed, Couple steps below your average applebees.
