We were seated quickly & promptly served despite it starting to get very busy in the restaurant. They got us water without ice as requested-- most restaurants of this price range always forget about not putting in ice/do not bother following the request. We ordered the triple dipper to try both the Nashville hot and barbecue fried mozzarella. I thought the Nashville one would be too hot, but actually it was just a perfect amount of tang and spice. There's a creamy component to the fried mozzarella that I assume helps it melt and stretch to get that signature cheese pull. Barbecue sauce was a little too sweet in contrast. The Southwest egg rolls were ok but I would not order again. I also got the chicken and bacon nacho, which didn't originally come with salsa but I was able to ask our waiter to get salsa. Good chunks of chicken in there. Overall, I would probably return to this Chili's again. Decor is a bit outdated, but no one is coming here for the ambiance (right?). So we found ourselves in Farmingdale and decided the best thing to do was eat at Chili's. We never had Chili's before so why not. We ordered a new menu item, the chicken bacon ranch nachos. The chicken felt like it was bagged chicken reheated and chopped to serve. Throw it on some nachos, sprinkle only a few bacon bits, add some sauce and various toppings and voila. This app was okay. The mushroom burger was okay. Patty was overcooked. Mushrooms were okay, cheese unmelted. A generic and average burger. The smokehouse combo was good! Everything was hot. This is a very intimate Chilis that has an open feel to it. Today it was hopping at the bar and the tables were filled. Despite this, there seemed to be very little wait for seating. I sat at the bar and we ordered beers, whiskey, margaritas, frozen sangria'Ritas, mozz bars and chips. The bartender was amazing and despite how crowded it became we felt well taken care of. We go to this particular Chili's in Farmingdale because of the consistently good food and service. Big box food places have their place in the restaurant world because of the consistency and reasonable prices one expects when you go there. Chilis in Farmingdale never disappoints. The food is served within a reasonable time and at the proper temperature. The managers, Greg and Jen, are always visibly present to make sure that everything works smoothly. It's not that things don't go wrong; it's how it is handled when they do, and these managers are quick to fix any issue and make sure the customers are happy. They always find time to stop at our table just to say "hi" and make sure that we are happy, no matter how busy they are. However, the real bonus is the wait staff; kudos to the hiring manager. Everyone is always nice and professional, making our dining experience a pleasant one. Nevertheless, we are willing to wait to get our favorite waitress, the Asian girl, Melanie. We frequent this Chili's in Farmingdale because of her (we are equally as close distance-wise to the Bethpage Chili's). She is the best! Melanie is always kind and considerate, and knows her regulars well (there are many of us who will wait for a table in her section, because she is that good). She is the ultimate professional with the perfect friendly attitude, always looking to please her customers. Furthermore, she anticipates our needs. She remembers small details like which dressing I like (after having tried a few different ones) and that I like my meat pink, even when I forget to order it that way, she remembers to ask me if I want it pink. A second glass of watermelon iced tea is there before I have to look for her to ask, because she is observant and attentive. She is a remarkably efficient and proficient waitress, and a kind and intelligent person, which is a winning combination for any waitress or any person in general. The food was good. We had fajitas. However, we were very disappointed with the service, given by the same waitress on every visit, , a Chinese girl. She argued that a salted margarita would only have half the rim covered with salt and not complete, as I get everywhere else. The bartender later confirmed that an option is given either half or full, but she never gave us that. She also again brought us this time small boxes to fill with our leftover food. It happened the last time and since the food would not fit, we had to get larger boxes. This time again, she insisted that small boxes were sufficient. I always loved going to Chili's, it was my go-to chain restaurant. I ordered what I normally get - the Cajun pasta. This time I got shrimp instead of chicken. The flavor was great, just as how I remembered but the pasta was over-cooked and the bread was dry and also smaller. I noticed that the pasta was also overcooked in the different locations I've been to (NJ, MA, & NY). It's a shame because I really enjoyed their Cajun pasta. read more

I'm one of those folks who loves a juicy burger that's nice and messy! Guess what? You can GET that at Chili's! I asked the bartender about the note on the menu that warned hamburgers were cooked to med/well, but could be prepared to your liking. We were greeted by the hostess and were shown to a nice, large booth. Our server arrived quickly and told us about the 2 for 1 tap beer special that included Stella. Sold. I had the Old Timers burger and my friend had a quesadilla. The food was delivered quickly. My only issue with the food was partially my fault. I wasn't asked how I wanted my burger cooked and I didn't tell the server. It came well done. No juices flowing. That's not how I like my meat cooked. Again, partially my fault. The classic ribeye were so good the mash potatoes were amazing and the steak was phenomenal!! The fries were good as well. The queen burger was so juicy and delicious with the queen it brought out a lot if flavor too. And the chicken fajita came out on a hot plate still sizzling but it comes with a tortilla and a plate with topping so you would put the chicken, cheese, and etc on the tortilla. I went here today with a girlfriend lunch. The televisions were on for Football Sunday. The restaurant was busy but not overly. We waited a few minutes to be seated. After a few additional minutes our server came over, never told us her name. I had to ask her name which seemed to annoy her that I asked. Jessica was beyond inattentive like we were bothering her asking questions. I asked if the bacon could be left off the soup because I am a vegetarian and don't eat meat. She said it could. I really wished this Chili's restaurant a lot to be desired. After spending our sunday afternoon shopping at Walmart Supercenter (across the street) me and my family worked up an appetite. My mom and sister were getting cranky and irritable. So, after going to 3 different places, due to the fact that the waiting time for a dining table, was beyond ridiculous, we decided to go to Chili's. It's my first time coming to this particular franchise restaurant. As soon as we get there, we see a customer talking to the host. By the tone of her voice, I could tell there was something dissatisfying about her wait time. Finally, after 20 minutes we were called. A table was available. I must say, the staff was very polite at all times, despite the fact of some patrons complaining about the wait time. We ordered steak with vegetables, mashed potatoes, pasta, shrimp and a combo meal, that I ordered. It consisted of two meats and four sides. I ordered chicken fajitas, also with a jalapeno-cheese stuffed sausage, that came with a side order of fries, a street-style Mexican grilled corn, a piece of garlic butter toast and a side order of briny pickles. We all had lemonades and iced tea. My mom had a sirloin steak with grilled avocado slices, pico de gallo and steamed asparagus. She mentioned that the steak was tough, and the asparagus were salty, undercooked, and almost raw. My sister didn't like her chili bowl. At least she had most of the pasta she ordered. The only thing I liked from what I ordered were the fries and chicken fajitas. The rest of the food on the plate, was not on point. But I will say, that the highlight of the dinner, was the chocolate cake and vanilla ice cream dessert that we shared. Very tasty. Otherwise, the servers are nice and the restroom is clean. I feel like chain restaurants always get a bad rep, but I had such a pleasant experience at this Chili's location! My boyfriend and I wanted a quick and inexpensive meal on a Saturday night around 7:30pm, and Chili's did just that. We immediately were able to sit at the bar and were greeted by the friendly bartenders. We decided to do the 2 for $25 combo (one appetizer, two entrees, one dessert), and each ordered a $5 margarita as a special addition to the combo. Our margaritas and appetizer (chips and guac) were served immediately. The salsa was delicious, but the chips were so frail and breakable, it was difficult to scoop the salsa and guac. Our entrees were quickly served after that (I had the mango chicken with rice - YUM! My boyfriend had the ribs, and he really liked them). We ordered the dessert (the cookie with ice cream) to go since we were so full from our meal. The variety of items we were able to pick with the combo deal was unbeatable! It's also easy to pay and split the bill - Chili's has this device where you select which items you want to put on a particular credit card, and it easily calculates tip. This place is conveniently located right across the street from the Farmingdale UA theater. One of the reasons why my friends and I decided to have a snack and drink here after watching a movie. The service was so-so. The waiter did not seem familiar with the menu when I tried to order a basic quesadilla dish. I had to point him to where it was on the menu. To be fair, he was a young kid so maybe he was new. My friend ordered a side of guacamole and had to ask for chips. We then ordered a pour of Jameson, and our server brought 4 pours of it to the table. We clearly looked puzzled, so our server explained it was two-for-one drinks during this time. Had we have known when ordering, we would have just ordered one round. They did not offer to take the extra round off our bill. The food was good, I have no complaints on my chicken quesadilla.
