Maybe more like 2.5 stars. Apparently this is a chain, so the food experience is distinctly in the Chili's/Applebee's/et al vein. Deep fried wings coated in your choice of roughly a gazillion different sauces. On the pro side, the wings are big and meaty. On the con side, they are decidedly forgettable flavor-wise. Also, they get you for about $1/wing. We also had some fried pickles that weren't the worst I've ever had, but pretty unexciting. The 2-for-1 drink deals are reasonably decent, although they (obviously) jack up the prices to make it work. Order two beers of the same stripe and you'll do just fine -- $8 for two microbrews is pretty competitively priced. Service is super friendly and quick, if you like that kind of thing. Maybe a little too "Tchotchky"-like, but that's just how it goes to one of these places where the servers are your new best friend the minute you walk in the door. At least he didn't sit down at the table with us! The location is just weird. sitting outside on Raymond Ave in a brand-new restaurant like this feels positively strange. 2.5 stars I came here for a friend's birthday. I've only been here once before, two years ago, so this is just based on this experience. We came on a Tuesday night so that's why it could've been off, but there was definite weirdness here-- mostly at the hands of our server. We weren't sure if she was new or not, but some things she did: - took a long time for our drinks (one cocktail, two waters) - brought the cocktail out first, forgot the straw; took five more minutes for the water (its's water!) - food came out lukewarm (my friend said her tacos were cold) - when we asked for hot sauce, said we might be charged for it (!!!???) and then given a tiny, almost empty bottle of Tabasco (though not charged) - the most weird: the birthday girl asked for chocolate lava cake for dessert with a candle in it. The server even came back to ask if she wanted raspberry sauce and whipped cream on the LAVA CAKE. She then brought out the sea salt caramel cheesecake with a candle, no mention of the lava cake. My friend was charged for the lava cake. We said we'd come here again because the cocktails look good and the food was decent, but this made us weary. The decor, however, is really cute. read more

Absolute worst. The food was as expected, your standard bar food. Being a server myself, I understand what it means to be weeded and overwhelmed. Therefore I am almost always understanding. But our server was MIA the whole time. Received my food and had to wait 5 minutes for silverware. He also forgot to ring in something I ordered so that was another 10 minutes. This place used to be good but not anymore. Its clear they don't want return business. Maybe the owners have made their investment back and aren't worried about quality. Smaller wings, less flavor & no carrot sticks which is standard practice. They also used to have great promotions which seemed to have disappeared. I am giving this place a 2 star rating because of their lack of customer service. I have had about as many good meals there as I have had bad ones, so it's a hit or miss with that as well, but my experience with them tonight sealed the deal as far as I'm concerned. I ordered an appetizer and a sandwich and was told 45-55 min for the delivery time, which I was ok with, but my food didn't arrive until an hour and a half later, the delivery driver barely spoke English and got lost in the complex and had to call because he couldn't remember the address, and it was almost impossible to communicate with him. I placed an order to go. We entry to pick up the food only to find we were missing 2 orders of French fries. We ordered the beer battered fish and chips, and when we opened the box the only thing in it was a large piece of fish and nothing else. We were also missing a side of garlic parm fries. $45 worth of food and NO sides. When I called to inform them we were missing food, the said they can get it ready for me to come pick up, smh. Ok let's start with our server Ryan. Super sweet knowledgeable attentive. We started with drinks the blueberry lemonade was ok the pineapple mojito was better. We had firecracker shrimp it should have been called crack shrimp it was so good you want more more more. Chili was a little bland but ingredients seemed high quality. This is a great place to come if you want to watch the game and drink with the guys while you stuff your face with $2 tacos; unfortunately for me, I don't want sports and I came here with my family for a nice meal. The $2 tacos are fantastic and they have a great selection to choose from; The Asian inspired tacos were my favorite! Badm communication! We went on for Sunday funday and it become terrible. They had $5 margherita and we wanted an upgrade in the tequila. . Well the $5 dollar drink turned into $ 15 and never did they say that lol, and how would I assume it won't be 3 times the amount?? I'm fact says it is what it is, I explained to her that the waiter never spoke about a $10 upcharge, and she'd said he should have said something. Been here twice in 2 weeks. The first time was great. My chicken sandwich was good & my husband had the wings. The grilled avocado was just warm avocado, nothing special. We saw that Monday's was all you can eat wings so we went back the following Monday. We sat in an area that only had one other table. The waiter was friendly. My husband ordered the all you can eat wings & I ordered a burger. Our food came out & my husband ate his 10 wings in 2 minutes. He flagged down the waiter to order 10 more. At this point, the waiter informed us that the way it works is the first order you get 10 wings then 5 at a time after that. My husband is 6'3 285. 5 wings will be gone in seconds. So he said ok, I guess. The waiter said he'll put in another order right after the 5 came up. We waited about 10-15 mins for 5 wings. I finished my burger before he got his other wings. The waiter said ok your other wings should be out soon. At this point my husband was upset & wanted to leave right away. Staff is always friendly, and always there for you without being overbearing. This place reminds me of eating near the docks & canal in my hometown! Ordered a grey goose on the rocks, I got a glass full of ice to the top and half filled with vodka, then the bill came and there was an extra charge of 75 cents for the ICE ! The loaded chili nachos were cold and the chili had no taste. When I asked the manager about the extra ICE charge he said that it was because they gave me more vodka cause it was on the rocks. I ate these wings via pickup, so I can't rate the restaurant experience since there was none. I ordered Honey BBQ. The flavor was decent, but the sauce was lacking. There was a little sauce at the bottom of the container; nevertheless it was watery. Within 20 minutes of finishing, I was sick in the bathroom. It was absolutely from the food here (rather than food from a different source) because I hadn't eaten in hours. I have a fast metabolism. Not sure what it was that made me sick, but I would guess that it was improper handling of the food by the cooks (i.e. inadequate hand washing, cross contamination b/n cooked and raw, etc.). The takeout box was open inside of the plastic bag and somehow the wings are soaking wet?! the wax paper thats inside of the wings box is so soggy that its falling apart. Went to Hurrican 4 times. The first two times at the bar was pretty positive. The bar staff was friendly, had decent drinks and the food came out fast/was good quality. A couple years after opening I went here with a family member for new years as well as a random trip. The quality is lower in recent times versus when it was new. The menu didn't seem like it knew what it wanted to be (its a grill/wing place, but has chili/beach bowls/seafood etc). The seats were also uncomfortable, they were like crates and felt "creeky." so I didn't want to move while eating. When I went to this location the first couple times with friends, we thought it would have a "college bar feel" but were surprised that it was more family oriented. This is a matter of preference (we wanted more of a college fun feel when we went the first couple of times). Wish Hurrican would go back to the original food, it was tasty. read more
