Never left a review before, but this visit was disappointing. My wife and I had recently become regulars on Wednesday nights for the wing special -- $0.79 wings with the purchase of a drink. My wife usually drinks water, while I typically order multiple beers. I understand the purpose of the policy and why it exists. Discounted specials can be abused, and that makes sense. However, during our previous visits, my drink purchases had always counted toward qualifying us for the special. This time, we were told that the drink requirement applies specifically to the person ordering the wings, regardless of how much was spent on drinks at the table. The server explained that the manager was firm on enforcing that rule. The frustrating part is the inconsistency. If this had always been the policy, that would be one thing--but allowing it previously and then suddenly enforcing it differently made for a frustrating experience. In the end, it felt like unnecessary rigidity and money left on the table. Because of the experience, we chose not to order anything extra beyond our initial order. Unfortunately, this visit left a bad impression, and we'll most likely be taking our business elsewhere, which is disappointing because we had genuinely been enjoying coming here. read more

We've had takeout more than dine in. Dine in service is good but we live down the street, 2 minutes away. Consistent errors in takeout orders. I can accept food not being as hot and fresh, but chimichurri steak that doesn't come with chimichurri dressing and Mexican street corn that's just a side of corn is something that should be too easy to get right. Unfortunate that we can't rely on takeout to be accurate being 2 minutes away. read more

Cool, comfortable vibe. Plenty of seating inside and out. The bar was spacious with plenty of seats itself. We always sit at the bar when dining and that was the case this evening on our first visit to Hurricane Grill & Wings. The bartender was friendly and attentive. We had the Smothered Burgerito, potstickers and side salad and all three were nicely presented and delicious. The portion sizes were generous and reasonably priced. In particular the burgerito was exactly as the name would lead you to believe. It was a burger tasting burrito . . unique and tasty. We will definitely come back and try other menu items. read more

My husband and I were there at 3:00 PM today. Sat for 20 minutes without being recognized by several employees. The bartender had gone outside to look at her phone. Got up to leave and an employee we hadn't seen before asked us if we'd been served. I said we hadn't even been acknowledged and we were leaving. This is not the first time this has happened at this location. We went around the corner to Don Ruben's Mexican restaurant and had excellent service and delicious food! We will NEVER attempt to stop at Hurricane ever again! Such a shame. When they originally opened, they had better service (not great!) and good food. The last time we went the calamari was so bad we couldn't eat it and had to send it back. They don't even have calamari on the menu anymore. It's so sad that service is not available in the service industry anymore. Having been a server in the past, I have very little tolerance for jackwad "servers" who couldn't care less about the success of the organization they are supposed to represent. We've been here around 4-5 times so I'm not sure how I missed a review, but we came this Sunday afternoon a year away to give them another try after a horrible last visit where service was zero and food mediocre at best. First time here was great, but each time after has just gotten worse. Sunday we came without our kids and decided to sit at the bar and see if service was better. We opted for just chips and salsa and some beer. Bartender was nowhere close in sight for a few, but we quickly realized he was running to the kitchen etc at times to help out. They seemed understaffed. Once he saw us he was good and we had everything fairly fast. Beer options weren't great for me, but I like sours which they don't offer so closest was bottles Angry Orchard. Prices were fair, but I think we've just established this spot isn't for us. More of an elderly crowd and service slow. Two stars for today's visit. It's went downhill so much. read more

It was VERY busy on a Monday morning at OPENING!! People were pouring into the building upon the door opening!! Yet, as always, service was top notch!! They often change things up on the menu. They currently have a HUGE lunch burger that was dripping with juicy flavor for $9.99, plus $1.00 to add cheese. It includes a side choice. They have quite a few great options on their lunch menu, such as a fajita bowl with cilantro rice that was delicious!! It even includes sour cream, guacamole and a tasty salsa for $9.99 (or maybe $10.99 - I can't remember). They have a special gluten free menu!! You can even change out the burger bun for a gluten free bun for only 99 cents!! BUT my VERY favorite thing to order is the Yeungling fish!!!! I have NEVER had a better fried fish anywhere!! It is a HUGE, thick, flakey, super white fish fried to perfection in a beer batter!! The tartar sauce has a nice zing to it. The French fries are thin with skin on and tasty too! We went in for an early dinner. We had never been before. I got a very Florida vibe from the Devore. It was fun. Reminded me a little of margaritaville. Just a little!!! We were a little worried seeing only two tables we taken. We decided to say and try it anyway and I happy we don't did. Our waitress was super sweet and attentive. We have been going to Hurricane for years. The last time we ate there, we noticed the food was not up to the quality we are used to. Today we tried again. We ordered take out. Tuesday at 1 pm. It was not busy, so the food should be fresh. I noticed the bag was leaking. It wasn't until I got it home did I realize It was the grease from the sweet potato fries. They were soggy and not done. I ordered my hamburger well done. It came medium, still red inside. I don't know what is going on in the kitchen but, this is the last time we have anything to do with Hurricane. read more

Ordered fish tacos garlic fries for takeout. Both were terrible. The fish for the tacos were dry and hard. It was like they were freezer burnt or had been prepared several hours before and reheated. Good, fun atmosphere at Hurricane Grill & Wings. A nice "island / nautical" theme with better-than-average food that's a step up from ordinary bar fare. The menu offers a nice variety, from burgers, salads, tacos, wings ( Both traditional and boneless with a wide selection of flavors ), etc along with a nice choice of appetizers. I'm fond of the pretzel bites. There is also a fairly decent selection of draft beers and ales on tap for enjoyment. Happy hour prices are good as well. We usually go about once a week for trivia night, so that's always fun. The service is always good, even when it's busy. Staff is really friendly and accommodating, ready with a smile and great attitude. The prices are about what you might expect, maybe a notch above - but really in general the food makes it worth it. They gained a star! After my 5 year absence I finally returned and enjoyed the Happy Hour atmosphere and fun decorations including the beer cap art by the bar. Very friendly but way overworked bartender and some tasty appetizers like the loaded fries and popcorn chicken at Happy Hour prices, but alas, no wings so had to pay full price for them and yeah they were good, but like all places now they just aren't worth the $. The draft beer selection was good but when trying to enjoy the aroma, all I got was detergent scent! What a disservice to Oak Creek's Nut Brown Ale. I'm glad to know they have clean glasses, but they need to look into improving that rinse cycle. I thought it was just my glass, but my partner had the same experience and had the bar been less busy and we didn't have a time deadline to get to the play next door we would've requested fresh pours. Very disappointing to have the beer experience ruined, but heck, at least it was at Happy Hour pricing so we were somewhat consoled. read more

My expectations were really low, based on some of the janky photos on Yelp for this place... but that turned out to be a good thing. The wings were fairly sizable and crispy. The medium sauce they use was kinda weird, very wet and bright orange, which ended up soaking the crispy skin. The garlic parm ones, tho... :) And I have to agree with L L... the fried haddock filet was one of the best I've ever had. It was large and in charge, with crispy batter that clung to the moist and meaty fish. I highly recommend that I get this again. Service was A-OK too. read more

Stingin Hot Honey Wings were the perfect balance of sweet and spicy. And they were juicy while still being crispy. The Grilled Steak and AvocadoTacos were to die for. Meat was tender and it was just enough spice with the creaminess of the avocado. The Monterey Chicken quesadilla was packed full of chicken and was nice and crispy on the outside. This place has good vibes and great service I would absolutely recommend. Wanted to get away and have a couple beers and a late afternoon meal. This place was perfect to relax with the island theme that they have going on. There's plenty of seating so we didn't have to wait at all to get seated in a booth. Went with the pimento cheese burger and chicken tenders. The burger was cooked to perfection and I was raving about the fried jalapeño they added on. The chicken tenders were also really good with a crunchy breading and juicy tender. The Kona brew I was drinking was only $5, which was nice to see. If you're looking for a fun, casual bar with good quality bar food, this place is your jam! They have a restaurant area, big bar, and also a lot of patio seating. They play fun trivia games on some nights, too. The food and drink menu is pretty big and the quality of the food is surprisingly good!! I'm not a seafood fan and I devoured the firecracker shrimp. The mahi sandwich was killer! It had a very thick filet and was cooked perfectly. Very moist and not fishy at all. My family and friends have been going to Hurricane for at least eight years since we moved to Arizona. It's always been reliable and good. That's why this review is disappointing. A friend and I went on Saturday happy hour time 4 o'clock, so it wasn't crowded at all. First, we ordered appetizers . The first was the Parmesan fries. Which someone in our party every time because there's always more than enough to share. Well, I guess they're cutting down the size of portions this definitely didn't seem like a appetizer portion. It was more of an individual serving and they were really greasy. We had to blot them they were dripping on the plate. They were still good, but leaving some thing wanting. Our other appetizer was the Elote corn. It is served in a bowl and it's usually a nice heaping bowl of corn. This bowl came looking like it was something that had been sent back or was already served. Like Somebody had eaten part of it and sent it back. Definitely not an appetizer size portion and it really just looked like someone had shoved their hand into it. Our burgers were delicious and our drinks were fine. The waitress was fine. And overall, the atmosphere was fun. But it's a shame when you see signs of a restaurant declining because who knows what's next read more
