I really wish that Hurricane Harbor could've rated higher but at this point the corporation is slowly awaiting for the total deterioration of this historical place. My family enjoy the thrill of the slides, but that is all! If it wasn't for us living so close, our season passes and coming in at least twice per season then we are getting our monies worth but if I lived further I wouldn't make the drive. The food is mediocre, nothing special of their burgers, pizza, and chicken strips so opt out of the meal deal for the entire season and just visit the nearest restaurants right outside the park. The park is pretty spacious and we reside at one of the quieter areas as the kids roam around sine there is plenty of seating. Some slides need upgrades and perhaps have a better system of entrances and exits since small children can't read and a thin rope won't do much to stop anyone from entering/exiting. We are still going to come here every season until we see the park fall apart completely. It is fun to come for a couple hours and then head on home after a hot summer day. read more

oh no. this park just gets worse every time i come. when i started coming a good while ago it was really fun. the food was your avrage theme park / water park food, crowds werent the craziest, it was safe, all the good things. sadly, the more i came, the quality... took a nosedive lets just say. food prices began to spike, crowds were crazy awful, staff cared less, and the vortex slide was always a 30 minute wait for a 30 second slide. ( dont ask how i found out.) but the final nail in the coffin was when i came this year. we went on a weekend and, well, how do i put this nicely? it was hell. crowds were the largest they have been, i went down a slide and crashed into somone even though the lifeguard said i was good, and they closed the wave pool and activity pool for semingly no reason. the tornado slide and big kahuna had to use one staircase but instead of people using the brains they were supposedly born with, they murged into one messy line. because of the crowds and the closure of the two massive pools, a person was in every square inch of the park. honestly they were over capacity and that can be a huge safety concern. what if someone had a weapon? what is somone was hurt and they cant get to safety. and now, because of the new demographic being able to get jobs at the waterpark, they dont care about you. there were miltiple times i saw people making exuses to get to the top of the slide but really it was just their friend letting them cut in line. this place has just deteriated so much that its a shell of its former sel. if can even be that. read more

Very unclear chaperone policy and very rude security folks, obviously on a power trip. Apparently they have an "enhanced security" policy in effect. Our grandson, who is 15, already driving on a permitted basis and very responsible went there on MAy16. His money was taken and two hours into his day he was approached and kicked out of the park. He had no issues gaining entry where they should have explained the policy and kept him out. He wasn't creating any type of issue and had to leave with no refund. My daughter (his mom) went to get him was intimidated and surrounded by five security personnel who refused to listen to her, or adequately explain the policy. They claimed there are "signs everywhere" but wouldn't show her where they are. Unreasonable people all around. read more

Hurricane Harbor gets more disappointing with every passing year. *The staff (minus the lifeguards) are all rude bums who don't give even the smallest damn about doing their job right or nicely. (Like if you don't want to work there then maybe don't?) *the drinking water situation is crap, they make you dump out your water before entering. *more than half the rides are always closed, I repeat: MORE THAN HALF. For seemingly no reason! I literally went yesterday and they had maybe 3-4 adult rides open, and idk about you but if I'm gonna pay as much money as you end up doing for a ticket, parking, or a season pass, a $20-$40 locker, and god forbid the horrid food, I want all the damn rides open 90% of the time. *don't even bother with the food. Overpriced fried freezer food. Overall, it's not worth it. And oh did I mention that they have a refund policy that you have to pay $25 extra for in order to get it? 2026 - $20 for a filthy locker the size of a shoe box (our stuff was stained yellow afterward) and no alternative. Bring a waterproof phone case for your car keys and phone, and as little as possible otherwise. They wait to let you know about this until you are at the very back of the park. - Over half of adult rides were closed, including some of the best, such as the iconic Tornado and the Texas Free Fall and its companion trapdoor slide, as well as half of the slides on the Stingray Racer. - Your own drinking water is NOT permitted and will be dumped out at the entrance. We also came during COVID and they were still doing this, but also had all water fountains turned off, and the line for tiny cups at the bar stretched longer than the rides. My brother's girlfriend collapsed from heatstroke, and in the EMS building, the paramedics were in a frenzy, one of them calling for help saying, "I've got people dropping like flies out here." If you come here, seriously temper your expectations, prepare to spend extra money, and if, god forbid, there is ever an issue with the water fountains, I recommend having your last will and testament prepared just in case. :) read more

My teen and his friends got kicked out for violating the chaperone policy. The group was 4 boys, 15 and 16 yo, and somehow they were all allowed in without a chaperone. 90 minutes in, they ate lunch and were walking to get dessert when a lady and an armed security officer stopped them and escorted them to a back alley, employee-only area, and they were held there until a parent came to get them. They were told that if a parent didn't come, they would be handed over to the police and held until parent arrived. Luckily my wife was able to get there fast, and after understanding that the kids did nothing wrong other than have no chaperone, something they were not aware of, she asked if it was possible to get a refund or a pass for another day, and they firmly stated it was not possible. Kids also got banned from park and all other Six Flag parks for 12 months. This was not only a waste of money, but also a disturbing experience, and probably unsafe considering these armed officers and their attitude. Keep your kids safe. read more

My fiancée brought me here for my birthday weekend. It was AWFUL. Besides the kiddy slides only 5 were operational. The wave pool was cut short, the lazy river has crazy drops with no signage, and the employees were unfriendly. The wave pool also had crazy waves that throwing people around like crazy. Blah! Went here for the first time this past July and tbh, it was worth it! I was a little concerned due to other reviews I read but pleasantly surprised after actually going. Took myself, 2-y.o., 6-y.o., and 2 other adults. 4 single day tickets, purchased day of ran us about $150 but could have been cheaper had we purchased a couple days earlier + online. Areas were generally very clean and easy to access. The kiddie areas were great and perfect for exhausting little folks. Drinks and snacks were pricey but you can leave out and comeback - I saw many families do this and they just kept snacks in their car. You can bring in your own reusable water bottle for water which is good. Don't know how fun this would be for a teenage child but it was great for the littles. Highly recommend! read more

Hurricane Harbor had good deals on season passes, renewing season passes & general admission for the month of May. Food is extremely high and the taste of food is horrible. Need better variety when it comes to the food.For one slice of pepperoni pizza was $17 dollars Waited a Hour with 17 people in front of me for food. Only 4 registers was open and the registers kept rebooting. No lids or straws for cups. Wendy's food is better then eating at Hurricane harbor.Hurricane Harbor fries are alright. The taste of the food needs to match the prices. The workers was helpful and kind. I buy season passes every year with food passes,this year we only paying for admission. There are some really great slides, and we had a blast. The lifeguards are great but really quick to admonish. Stopped to admire one of the slides in the lazy river and got a whistle to keep moving, even though no one else was near us. The concession staff were slow, but it was opening weekend. They have an I don't care attitude for the most part, but there were a few who were very friendly. Too many computer issues as well. I was 3rd in line and it took 15 minutes before I got to order. They had to scan my card 8 times. They don't seem to know the concept of hot food.of our 4 meals, not a single one was hot. Fries, chicken strips, tacos, pizza... all room temperature. Was sick on Monday. Street tacos were on corn tortillas that were not at all warmed, they were right out of the package and were dry and rubbery. Pizza, burgers, fries, and chicken strips left sitting out for over 15 minutes before being given to guests. Horrible. Prices were unbelievable. $17 for a hot dog?? Or a slice of pepperoni pizza? No wonder everyone leaves and walks to the Wendy's near the entrance. read more

Customer service. As I once worked for a Water Park as a teen but the staff were all rude. The rides were closed stating a weather advisory but we never saw lightning and it was thunder for a short period. The park hours shows close is at 7 we were told to get out the water an hour before . This was a birthday gathering for my son and it was a horrible time. read more

Because it could use some serious updating, but still made for a day of fun. --- --- --- When we first arrived, the day started off a little rough because the parking attendant started rattling off a list of attractions that were closed. And that list was long. It included one of few things that was geared toward younger kids and that's the whole reason we came. It wasn't feasible for us to just leave and come back another day because our son would have gone into defcon 5 mode, considering how excited he was to go to the water park. The reasons they have for these things being closed was "staffing issues." I realize that has been a problem for a lot of places recently, but I guess I just assumed Six Flags would have their stuff together and not have to shut down half the park. We went in anyway and headed for the one thing our son could do. At first, he didn't seem impressed, but as the afternoon went along, he seemingly became more and more into it. From my perspective, the slides were really slow and everything was a bit run down, but he enjoyed himself. After a couple of hours, we were starving and planned to be done for the day so we could go eat. But when we found out that the other attraction for smaller kids had opened and that you could re-enter for free (and park for free), we decided to come back after lunch and our sons nap in the car. In total, we were at the park a bit more than 4 hours, with about a 90 minute intermission in the middle. Our son really enjoyed himself, even though the park could use a massive face lift. Almost everything looks and feels like it was installed in 1994 and hasn't been touched since. But, it's the closest amusement park to our house and our son seems to love it, so maybe we will come about once a year. But next time, we will probably try one of the other water parks in the Houston area. read more

On 6/29 my daughter and I took a trip to splash town and we brought her friend. While my daughter was sitting on one of the lounge chairs eating, she looked down to find an open and used condom sitting right below her and her food. We told one of the park members and she laughed and said "ewe". We decided to leave the park and the next morning I attempted to try and contact customer service. I went to the splash town website and tried to email someone and chat with someone. I kept getting put in contact with robot after robot. I called the customer service number 10 or so times. I went to Facebook and found their business page and left comments all over their business page which finally triggered someone to message me via messenger. I told them about our experience and told them that I wanted our season passes refunded. It's the start of the season so I figured I'd given the situation They would be more than accommodating. Not only was I denied my refund, but when I told them that I was going to be contacting corporate as well as the health department, I got a response back saying that the "customer service" department I was speaking to via email was actually corporate themselves. So I am deciding to post on every public platform to let everyone know that hurricane Harbor splash town is absolutely a disgusting and vile place to take your children. I will be contacting the health department as well as OSHA. And when that is done, I will be contacting attourney and filing a civil suit to get my money back. Yall messed with the wrong one. My request for a refund was reasonable, feasible and deserved. Now it's gonna be a big mess. read more

This is the second year that we've had season passes for Splashtown, so we've had an opportunity to visit the park several times. The kids enjoy the water slides, wave pool, and lazy River. As other reviewers have mentioned, some of the slides are always closed. The bathrooms are clean and lockers are available to rent. The lines for food or drink can be long, and the prices are high, as you might expect. The people who work in the parking area, and those who work at the entry have always been helpful and pleasant. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for the employees who work inside the park, who are mostly surly teenagers who don't want to be there. To be fair, a few of them are nice, but keep your expectations low. I think Splashway in Sheridan, Texas is infinitely nicer, but it's a longer drive from Houston and significantly more expensive. If distance and price aren't a concern, I would recommend Splashway. Otherwise, Hurricane Harbor is good enough. read more

I'm a big fan of water parks and I'll say this place is definitely a great place to take kids. They have a small pool for toddlers which is a big bonus in my book. Food and drink places are evenly spread out and accessible, get ready to pay theme park prices, and their seating options that are at a first come first serve basis are spread out through the park, but there are some pool chairs that aren't going to be covered by chairs. A thing to note, the staff this year are very "whatever" attitude. A little more than usual. So if amazing customer service is something that's really important to you then you'll be disappointed. read more

Service is always friendly and never had an issue with restrooms being dirty. I just don't like that towards the end of the summer the bees and flies gather by the trash cans. The day I bought me and my sons season pass was the day they shut down due to a chemical leak. We got to the park late and couldn't get in because of it. I waited to request the refund because I received emails saying it would reopen in 2 days, so I thought we could still use the passes before the end of summer. After 2 days, they sent another 2 days of closure. Then it turned into weeks. I finally requested my refund and had guest relations contact me back right away saying it's not an issue they would refund the full amount due to the circumstances. I immediately got the notification of the refund, and followed with another email saying that the refund had been CANCELLED. I reached out to guest relations- no reply. I reached out to the support team through the PayPal app, and I was told to give it 5-10 business days to process. (Also, they refunded to my paypal cash plus account that I didn't even have or use). Over a month later and I still don't have the funds, just checked the status of my refund and it showed canceled. I'm annoyed. read more

Lot's of family summer water fun. There's a wide variety of rides and pools for your preferred level of thrill. The annual pass is a good deal, even if you only plan to go a couple of times. You can either get the annual pass cheaper earlier in the year or in the middle of the summer so you can go early next summer as well. While Splashtown is typically only open from late April to early September, you can go to Six Flags in San Antonino as well, even with the cheapest annual pass. However, you only get free parking at your "home" park. We try not to bring too much into the park as you can go back to your car and reenter the park throughout the day. read more

I would give this place a zero but not sure it would let me write a review of less than one star. Not a safe place to go at all. My son was attacked by some people there and he was detained by the park security against his will even though the Houston police had said he was free to go. Park security treated him like he was the attacker when he was the one attacked. Keep yourself safe and avoid this place. read more

Great spot for the summer! I grew up going here and returned this year as a 23 year old and had just as much fun as I did as a kid!! Some of the rides were closed, but the ones that were open were so fun!! I didn't feel grossed out at all. It feels very clean (for a public water park)! I've been coming to this park for ages! I have seen it through all its changes. I believe this is the best change yet and the best is yet to come. They are still going through the process of rebranding it and changing their operating procedures. Imagine having to retrain all the employees?!? Anyway, It's still the same park that we all cherish and love & have fun at! I always have fun and my kids love it! They are teenagers now and have been coming since they were 3! Honestly, the slides are fun and this could have been an awesome place. Pulling up, the people working the parking area were all very nice and we were excited. The people working inside the park were probably the most unhappy people I've ever seen working. It's hot and they have to deal with guests all day, but holy guacamole they hated every single one of us. I asked a girl at one of the concession stands for one bag of chips and 3 bottles of water and I felt like I was on a Saturday night live skit because of how awkwardly unhelpful she was. It was beyond weird. If you are going to Splashtown, you will enjoy the slides but the lines are long and be prepared with your own cooler with snacks and food unless you want to be death stared for even considering purchasing food or water. Drove and hour and ten to arrive to 1/2 the park closed for maintenance. We purchased our ticket right before walking out the door and no information was posted to their website. The park refused to offer any sort of rain check or refund even after chatting online & calling customer service. We were told to "plan ahead" but we can't plan ahead on their failure to maintain their park to ensure it's in full working order. The only one expected to pay that price is the customer; not the company that failed to begin with. The bars need to be improved. Most of the bartenders they have are incompetent. They will have 3 bartenders at a time and still it will take 20-30 mins to get a drink. And there is also a "policy" (only some will enforce) that you can only order one drink at a time (including shots), and then you have to wait another 30-45 mins to order your next drink. I miss when it was just WetN Wild Splashtown but I so enjoyed myself on last week. Since covid the tickets are half off which is the appropriate price instead of paying $64 you'll pay $30. I hate now we have to pay $20 for parking. The lines weren't crazy but it was a nice crowd for a Wednesday. The funnel cakes didn't taste the same at all and was overpriced. 2 funnel cakes for $30 wasn't worth it AT ALL. My favorite rides were the Big Kuhunna and the yellow and blue wave bowl that you see off the freeway. It was a great experience and I'm already ready to return. read more
