    Shrimp boil

Absolutely love it here. We always have excellent service and food. They remember us and what we typically order. It's our go to place.

If you're a seafood and/or signature cocktail connoisseur, make your way over to this unique place! We have been here many times over the years, and we've never been disappointed with the quality, freshness, or taste of my meals! We love sitting outside at the tiki hut (yes, even when it's blazingly hot)! Our bartender at the tiki hut was very friendly! She learned our names quickly, was attentive to the extras we needed for our meals, and provided service with a smile! We adore that it is located next to a Marina, so we can check out all of the phenomenal boats and yachts! The locals hang out here on the regular, and we know why! Consistency!

The shrimp appetizer was buttery and light. Great for two

Looking for the cliche Florida coastal crab boil restaurant. Hurrican Patty's filled the need - as if it came out of a movie. It's off the road, on the marina docking bay = picture perfect. They're open later than other places, which was mainly what we were looking for. Shop owners eat later than the tourists. #facts We walked around the venue before entering and loved the entire water "bay vibe". The restaurant has a wrap around walking dock / deck with an outside bar, table seating, and live music all on the backside. On the front side of the venue is the entrance, and an outdoor table seating patio. Upon entering, you have to wait to be seated by the hostess. This has a very Joe's Crab Shack meets pirates ambiance without the "restaurant chain" feel. Our service was quick, semi friendly, and to the point. Our server gal took care of us, had a smile, but was not hovering - and that's what we expected. A total cliche server experience. The "Painkiller" drink I ordered was stiff and DARN yummy! The price was right, not over priced. I would have preferred a top shelf rum and no ice. Next time I'll ask. They have the crab boil special on Saturdays. I didn't know about the social when I chose this venue for our food adventure Night. The price was great as we happened to go on a Saturday. I also pre-gamed signed up for their email list on their website and got a coupon for a shrimp appetizer emailed to me. Woop! I've never had anything "oyster" before. (Being from Vegas, it's not something you order when there... I would recommend it.) We ordered the oyster sampler. We also ordered the shrimp and grits for next day breakfast / lunch. Sunday chill day pre-gaming.! The shrimp appetizer was buttery and light. It's a perfect starter for two. I recommend it. The oysters were steamed well, but I wasn't a fan of ALL the flavors on platter. The oyster and lobster was so F-ing good. I'd order just that next time. The crab bucket was on point. YES! I would prefer more seasoning, but I'm not mad at it. This is large enough to share. Great for 2 people if you have an appetizer. The shrimp and grits were darn good. I felt the grits were a little undercooked, but I didn't mind because the next day I heated them up in a pot with some milk and butter and they were bomb AF!!!!!! I can imagine, though, people WOULD complain "the grits are undercooked". I took home the sausage from my crab boil. Sliced them up and cook them the next day - adding them to my grits for a PERFECT no cook Sunday meal. Nom nom. I would highly recommend h Hurricane Patty's as a venue to take people to, especially on a Friday or Saturday evening when there is live music outside. The prices were very reasonable. Don't expect five star service. Expect your meal served to you - you might get a smile. I'm okay with that because, it's a Marina restaurant... Up in the cut. The food IS surprisingly good. The atmosphere is awesome! I would imagine dinner at sunset would be very chill and romantic. REASONS TO VISIT: 1. Location 2. Plenty of Parking 3. Ambiance 4. Overall Venue 5. Reasonable Prices 6. Decent Food 7. Decent Drinks

Tucked away in a quiet corner on the waterfront. Outside dining is a nice option. Outside tiki bar or indoor bar options available. The tacos was literally a tall order but every bite was delicious. The Down South Shrimp n Grits was good, small compared to other but delicious . I want to try the Shrimp Boil next time, looked very juicy. The only issue I had at the time I went (5 p.m.) was the bugs. I was able to switch to indoor seating with no problem. Maybe a bug light or dining friendly bug deteriorate would be nice. Overall, I enjoyed the dining experience, bugs or not, I'll go back for sure. The waitress was good.

We were greeted by the friendliest waitstaff and they made sure our two pups were welcomed too, on the covered outdoor deck. I had the grilled shrimp and grits and it was delicious. A little work to find it, but sure was worth it!!!

Great drinks, very strong! I definitely recommend if you are in need of libations! Dogs are welcome and the outside seating is very pleasant. The service was excellent.

It has been a year since we have been here- soup is good - menu has changed we just tried shrimp platters and first time better not sticking and second try they sent out the shrimp were like rubber. We had 4 people with shrimp and it was just not right not a one off. I recommend the soups the service was friendly but the fried shrimp is a no go. Hope this feedback they fix it we used to love going here once a month. Just got the bill - they charged full price after we stated issue and we did not even eat more than 3 shrimp. Disappointing do not recommend anymore.

We stopped here for dinner on a Sunday evening. It was pretty empty when we arrived, but filled up a bit before we left. The parking is a little confusing, as there is a marina next to the restaurant. I am not sure if we parked for the marina, as there seems to be a small lot for the restaurant, but it all worked out. There is ample parking toward the marina. Since you are next to a marina, there are lots of boats to watch and a beautiful water view of the San Sebastian River. Very nice. Lots of outdoor seating as well if you enjoy that. Overall, we enjoyed everything we ordered and the service was really great. My wife loved the Seafood Salad Stuffed Avocado and I thought the Shrimp and Grits were insanely good. The fried shrimp platter was another winner. If you enjoy a casual atmosphere with awesome views, this a great place to eat!

We were looking for a restaurant overlooking the ocean. We found it here. The food was mediocre, nothing to be ecstatic about. Our waitress ( I can't remember her name and I'm sorry) was wonderful and kind. Gator bites were fantastic. The smoked fish dip, couldn't taste the fish. It was overpowered by peppers. Tuna poke bowl had no flavor whatsoever. Too much stuff in the bowl that didn't quite blend well together. The rest of the food was ok.

Awesome fresh seafood. A great menu and good service. We've never had to wait either. Highly recommend.

Stopped by on our jet skis. It's a little bit of a ride through the "minimum wake" area before you arrive so it got hot, but we enjoyed checking out something new as we hadn't been down that way before! No dock-master (doesn't matter for us on skis but in case boaters are interested). But no dock fees either. We were greeted as soon as we walked in and our server was fantastic and attentive! We opted to split some apps and tacos. Food isn't "out of this world", but it isn't bad either! Everything we ordered had really good size portions! We love stopping at restaurants while out on the water so it's good to know this is an option! We'll also keep it in mind when we're visiting St Augustine by car!

I had mentioned two guests had a birthday in my reservation and they put two birthday notecards on the table, this was a lovely touch. The ambiance outside was perfect, wasn't loud at all and lighting was moody. I had a Ruby Fizz Mocktail and it was one of the best mocktails I have ever had. The others drinks were strong and good! The food was incredible. I highly recommend the scallop toast (we ordered it a second time because it was so good!) and bread service for starter. The table really liked the empanadas, I was not a huge fan (but, I am from Miami so my empanada taste buds are different LOL). The Rockefeller Snapper was incredible. Huge piece of yellowtail and just an overall unique dish. The Scallop Cavatelli had to have been one of the best seafood dishes I have ever had. It was rich and decadent. I am not sure if they hand roll the pasta in house, but the pasta tasted so fresh. The table had some espresso martinis to end the night and I had a decaf French press coffee (I think he said French press). It was all delicious. Highly highly recommend.

I ordered a sangria but our drinks took a very long time to come out, after our appetizer (crab, an heirloom tomato bruschetta which was yummy and more filling than regular bruschetta!) Overall, the food was really good and waitress was nice, but water was never refilled and everything took a really long time to come out. Exceptional Service, Fresh Seafood, and a Perfect Waterfront Atmosphere…read more My wife and I had one of the best dining experiences we've ever had at The Boathouse in St Augustine. We sat outside on the deck overlooking the water, and the atmosphere alone was worth the visit. To make it even better, a sweet, friendly kitty joined us and rested at our feet while we ate. She was gentle, lovable, and happy to let us pet her, a perfect little addition to an already beautiful afternoon. From the moment we arrived, the staff was outstanding. The hostess seated us immediately, and our server, Tom, was exceptional. He kept our drinks full, checked in just enough without ever interrupting, and always kept an eye on our table as he walked by. His attention to detail was impressive. I ordered the stuffed grouper, and it was phenomenal! Clearly fresh, perfectly seasoned, white and flaky, with a decadent crab stuffing that set the dish apart. My wife had the shrimp skewer salad and loved every bite. The shrimp were fresh, tender, and prepared perfectly. During our meal, I mentioned to Tom that shrimp and grits is my traditional go‑to dish. Even though I didn't order it, Tom surprised us with a complimentary serving of shrimp and grits from Chef Mike! Let me tell you, it was easily the most unique and delicious shrimp and grits I've ever had. The dish included onions and a layer of perfectly seasoned collard greens beneath creamy, balanced grits and fresh, succulent shrimp. We added it to our meal and finished every bite. Just when we thought we couldn't eat another thing, Tom asked if we saved room for dessert. We hadn't; but when he told us about their locally made key lime pie, we had to try it. It was incredible: perfectly tart, perfectly sweet, the crust was amazing and the ideal size for two people to share. We left full, happy, and already planning our next visit. I strongly recommend The Boathouse; try the stuffed grouper, the shrimp and grits, or the shrimp skewer salad if you want something lighter. And whatever you do, save room for the best key lime pie you'll find anywhere in Florida.

The combination of imaginative cocktails, exceptional food, and a unique atmosphere makes every visit memorable. The cocktail program is outstanding. We enjoy trying a variety of their exotic and inventive drinks, and they never disappoint. The flavors are bold, creative, and unlike anything you'll find at a typical restaurant bar. The Yellow Submarine cocktail is quite possibly the best drink I have ever consumed. Made with curry-infused Bermuda black rum, lime, ginger, and Asian five-spice brown sugar syrup, it sounded unusual on paper but came together beautifully. I enjoyed it so much that I ordered four of them that evening, something I rarely do. That was three years ago, and despite returning several times since then, I have never seen it on the menu again. The food is equally impressive. Two years ago, I ordered the Skillet Roasted New York Strip served with Yukon Gold potato-anna, roasted asparagus and spring onions, watercress, and black truffle hollandaise. To this day, it remains one of the top five restaurant meals I have ever eaten. Every component on the plate was exceptional. The steak was perfectly prepared, the crispy potato galette was irresistible, and the black truffle hollandaise elevated the entire dish to another level. It was the kind of meal that stays with you long after the plate is cleared. I would gladly drive 300 miles just to eat it again. Most recently, I had the wild mushroom bisque, and it was the best soup I have ever consumed. Rich, creamy, buttery, intensely mushroomy, and perfectly balanced, it was everything a mushroom soup should be. The addition of crispy pickled onions and crème fraîche added texture and contrast that made an already outstanding soup even better. My wife and I enjoyed it so much that we returned the very next day hoping to order it again, only to discover it had already rotated off the menu. My only complaint about The Ice Plant is that some of their greatest creations seem to disappear as quickly as they arrive. While I appreciate the constantly evolving menu and understand that seasonal changes are part of what makes the restaurant special, there are certain items that deserve a permanent home. The Yellow Submarine cocktail, the wild mushroom bisque, and the Skillet Roasted New York Strip with black truffle hollandaise are three of the finest things I have experienced there. The fact that I can vividly remember one of these items from three years ago and another from two years ago says everything. Great restaurants serve good food. Truly special restaurants create dishes and drinks that stay with you for years. The Ice Plant has done that for me more than once, and that is why we continue to return whenever we visit St. Augustine.

The Bloody Mary is where it lost me. $15 is a serious price for a cocktail, and mine arrived as a tall glass of ice with what was left over poured around it.
