This was my first time getting a spray tan and I overall had a really good experience. It was super quick and the person doing my tan helped me pick out what level to go with in order to cover some tan lines. We ended up going with a medium. I left it on for about 9 hours before rinsing and I'm pleased with how it looks. I have got a lot of compliments and I think it looks really natural- no orangey Oompa Loompa looks at all! I did have some patchiness on parts of my legs and back- but I think that was user error for not giving the tan enough time to dry/ wearing too tight clothes. I am by no means a tanner so, even though it's right after summer, I am white as a ghost! I have a formal event to go to this weekend and I needed a quick, non-oompaloopa looking, tan. I read all the great reviews on here and decided to spend the $40 on their services. The reviews hardly even do these ladies justice. Very nice, professional, use great organic products, and have the cutest little house for their office. My tan looks natural and it's a good 10 shades darker than I was, which is exactly what I needed. Oh, as a side note, they offer a $99/mo package that gives you 4 spray tans. I have very fair skin and have never had a tan in my life. Well, after a few days in and out of the sun, I had uneven skin and decided that I needed an airbrush tan to fix my problem. I'm glad that I chose Hush Hush for my first airbrush experience. It was fast and easy. I chose "Medium" for my color ( I thought that it would be more customized...but I guess it's only light, medium, or dark to choose from). I was pleased that I could be fully nude and not required to wear panties. My tan looked fantastic the next day after a light shower! Very natural and even! After spending my college days getting spray tanned by friends who owned their own machines (college, amiright?) and inevitably ending up with the subtle splotchiness of a giraffe, this place changed mah life. But they moved and I felt unsafe at the new location. You are so vulnerable in a tanning salon already and the environment is industrial with lots of people walking around. Just do your research. After hearing coworkers talk about this place, I went ahead and gave it a go. In high school, I had one of the worst spray tanning experiences one can have. I was about 10 shades darker than my normal fair skin tone and when it began to come off...it came off BAD. It was splotchy, coming off weirdly everywhere. Needless to say it scarred me for life when it came to spray tans. Then you hear that most celebrities get spray tans and they always look great (right?). After 7 years, I gave spray tanning a second chance and I am so glad I did. Scheduling an appointment was so easy. I was worried they would not have an opening on the day I wanted the spray tan but luckily their appointments are plentiful! Their online scheduling is extremely easy. You choose the service, the date then it shows you available times. Once you make the reservation they send you a confirmation email with all of the "know before you go" information regarding shaving, exfoliating, sweating etc. They really want you to leave with a beautiful glow and to have it last! I had the custom glow and just simply stated "I am very fair toned. I want to look like I have a tan but it's not like "oh WOW what happened to her". If I remember correctly, my technician's name was Keri. She did an awesome job. Professional, efficient and did exactly what I went there for! The best part? I didn't even realize the tan fading. Awesome! And I'm a super skeptic...on everything. I have a trip to Mexico coming up and decided to test out the airbrush tan. Have done Mystic, then later Versa, with mixed results depending on if I applied the barrier cream correctly or not - always "ok" results (feet never came out right without weird blotches), but did the job. Have done airbrush once in the past to disastrous results (looked like an oompa loompa) so was hesitant about trying it again. Tested it out a week before my trip in case it went badly, but it didn't! Totally doing this before my trip! Was fan.tas.tic. Brown, not orange (at all). Blended perfectly. Super professional atmosphere and clean (think hardwood floors and private rooms), zen-like salon. This isn't some cheesy hoist-a-tent-up-and-spray-you-down kind of place. I'm SUPER pale - auburn hair, blue eyes, freckles, pink toned skin and pale, pale legs that could act as reflectors to flag in planes in their natural state. I'm did this for a one time trip, but this may be a permanent addition to my beauty routine. Love, love, love that I can look like this without sun damage - and not look orange and scary. Some may call this expensive, but I'm fairly certain that future negative skin conditions (the big c word) are much more costly. HIGHLY recommended. read more

Such a quaint, wonderful little place! Not only is the airbrushing fantastic but they sell amazing products, too! I had Ariana today, and my sister and I are more than pleased with the outcome of our tan. It began raining as soon as we were done and Ariana offered to walk us out individually to my car with the umbrella they have on hand to ensure we didn't end up looking like leopards! I am as white as a ghost and I go here now and then to have my skin transformed into a natural and radiant looking glow. I discovered Hush Hush from overhearing a girl next to me ranting and raving to her stylist where she got her "spray tan". She had a beautiful natural looking glow and fair features (like me, anglo-saxon blonde). There was no way you could tell that this girl had anything unnatural done to her skin. I had been sprayed before at Organic Glow which came out a bit too dark and orange for me so I ruled out sprays altogether for awhile. The people working at Hush Hush are quite nice and make you feel comfortable. I am always able to get an appointment at a convenient time. Parking is easy. They did an incredibly detailed job with coverage and the color was natural (I am from the east coast so pretty pale and needed to look naturally tanned for a dress I was wearing to a wedding). After my first time going to Hush Hush after other spray tan salons in Austin, I can say that I will not be going back. I decided to try this place because many of my friends go here but unfortunately I am not pleased with my results. The lady who tanned me forgot to do my feet (sadly I realized this after I had left the salon or I would have said something) and left me with a huge dark spot on the underneath of my arm. She didn't wipe off my nails or afterwards (which I feel is pretty common to do) but left quickly without really any instructions. The first thing that made me skeptical was she only did one coat. All the other spray tans I've gotten have done 2 coats but since I had never been to Hush Hush, I wasn't sure if that was normal. After waiting 8 hours, I took a quick shower with no soap until the water ran clear and my tan faded drastically. I told her I wanted a pretty dark color and she said she was doing a "medium rich" shade, but after showering the tan does not look how I wanted at all. I really wish I liked Hush Hush as the facility was nice and it is reasonably priced, but I am very disappointed. I'm now left with a stained spot on the underneath of my arm, white feet, and a tan that nearly faded. read more

Got my first ever spray tan here last week. I freaked out right after they did it because i thought the machine had left dots, but they assured me it would rinse evenly in the morning, and it did. My tan looked AMAZING. I spent 4 days and nights partying in Las Vegas (even in the pool!) and it was 100% worth the money to get a good tan. The pictures look great - a natural glow, not fake at all. I am going back tonight and getting a monthly membership because I am officially addicted. Oh, and Isabelle is awesome! My first spray tan - scary/weird/cold?! The Hush ladies were so professional and did an outstanding job! I was referred there by many friends and even other Yelpers! I made sure to exfoliate/shave before hand. It's optional if you'd like to keep a top/bottoms on. They do have free paper thongs you can wear which is what I suggest! During the spray, which was really quick, the spray tan lady instructs you for each pose so you get the best coverage. Once it was over, I took a few seconds to dry in front of a fan. Done! I did have some streaking initially, but once I showered I looked like a bronze goddess. It was awesome. Came here a few months ago to get sprayed for ACL. I had an appointment and was taken back right away, despite it being really busy. The rooms are really cute and feel more like a little house than your typical mechanical spray tan places, which was really nice. The woman who sprayed me was clearly an expert and did an amazing job. I even accidentally sweated a bit right after (forgot that Texas in October is still blistering) and it didn't mess up my tan. ...I guess as far as spray tans go, it's better than most. But keep in mind: It's still a spray tan! While it didn't turn me orange, there were areas that looked bad (front of armpit) and within a couple days I looked splotchy and very unnatural. My fiance and I did this before a trip to Vegas and were almost embarrassed while out at the pool. I would have rather sported my natural pale skin. I went for my first tan and made a post-tan mistake (all my fault) and they instructed me to wash it off then come back in and fix it. Wonderfully nice young ladies working here. I would definitely give them my business, but next time I'm going to be more careful. I did the "oh let's do the very darkest you have" and ended up looking like a sweaty coal-miner when I came out!!! My colleagues found great humor in this, they said I should tell people I just had my teeth whitened. It was THAT DARK. After a day or so, it faded out to a nice color. My skin may be different as while I think it was good, it wasn't that much better on me than any other spray place, and when it started fading out, it faded where I had little patches of color here and there that looked like a dark rash. Again, everyone is different, it may just be me or how I treated the tan afterwards. If I had to go to a spray tan place again, I'd probably go here. read more
