I've had my dryer for 10 years & have never had the vent cleaned. Not a good idea. My dryer had a fishy smell & was heating up but not drying anything. I called Sears, cause it's their dryer, & they charge by the foot, seriously. I contacted my association & they recommended Harris Vent. Brian came out & diagnosed the problem as the vent being severely clogged & some kind of animal, rodent or bird, that had gotten in there. My dryer had been running really hot and it was taking forever to dry a load. First I called an appliance repair company who told me my entire vent needed to be cleaned and recommended I didn't use the dryer until it was cleaned because it was a fire hazard. I called my HOA and was referred to Harris Vent & Duct Cleaning. Brian came out and in addition to throughly cleaning the vent he replaced the outside vent cover which wasn't to code. By the way, the vent outside wasn't located where the HOA told me it was, but Brian found it and completed the job. I've only been in my home for 9 months and for all I know the vent has never been cleaned. Brian is knowledgable, professional, and a really nice guy. I had a new washer and dryer installed recently and the dryer now has an air flow sensor. I have never had my dryer vent cleaned in the past so I wasn't sure who to call. I found Harris Vent and Duct cleaning on Yelp and thought that I would give it a try since they are nearby. I called on a Tuesday and was able to get an appointment on a Thursday. I like that there is also just a one hour arrival window. The dryer vent cleaning process was less than an hour and my home was left in great condition and very clean. Next time I would consist using them for my AC duct cleaning as well. Nice friendly staff on the phone and in-person. I didn't feel pushed into purchasing anything else. Hadn't had our dryer vent cleaned in several years... that is until we had to turn off our dryer to stop it from smoking. Called Harris and Jenny there was able to get a technician out the next morning. The technician arrived on time, was polite and very knowledgeable, as I asked him numerous questions about the job. We have an older house with a vent that has winds up and around and has several corners which clearly had trapped a ton of lint and one birds nest. The technician was able to completely clear our vent and even cleaned out the filter in the dryer itself. All of it took no more than about an hour and unlike other service providers we've had, he didn't try to upsell us on any other services. I have no qualms about recommending this company. read more

We have been using HVDC for the past ten years to maintain the air vent for our dryer. Their work has been consistently good, efficient and friendly. The technician came on time, got right to work, and explained the process. It had been nearly 3 years since my last servicing and it was long overdue, as the quality of clothes drying was noticeably degraded. The technician said they could put us on an automatic recall and I appreciated that service. Aside from extending the life of the dryer and allowing the machine to work more efficiently, this service is necessary to clear out the buildup of lint, which is a real fire hazard. The technician came to my home today and cleaned out the dryer vent for us. He possibly saved us from having a home fire with all that had built up in the vent. He were prompt, curious, happy, answered all my questions and I felt very comfortable with him in my home. When he left there was no mess left behind. I was having a major problem with my clothes dryer vent--it was completely clogged! I called Harris Vent & Duct Cleaning and was able to get an appointment within a few days. Brian was here even before my scheduled appointment time and was able to clear the clogged vent, remove lint from the dryer itself, and replace the hose from the dryer to the vent. I am so relieved to have a fully functioning dryer again, and I am going to do a better job of having it maintained in the future! HVDC did an outstanding job cleaning my dyer duct. The technician was professional, considerate, engaging and efficient. I've had this done several times before I knew about HVDC. Unlike my previous experiences, the technician not only cleaned the ducts, but also cleaned lint from the inside of the dryer. An even more pleasant surprise is that there was no lint all over the area outside as a result of the cleaning. My dryer is running more efficiently than ever now, and the price was reasonable. The HVAC tech was very helpful and went above and beyond just cleaning my dryer vent! He moved cabinets and created access for my vent. He spent a great deal of time getting the vent clean, along with the dryer itself. I had used another company earlier in the year that did not actually do the work I had thought I was paying for and the tech confirmed the vent had not been cleaned correctly. My dryer was shutting off before the load was dry. I'd restart the machine but would have to repeat several times before it eventually completed the cycle. We recently used HVDC for our Dryer vent cleaning. I found them very reasonable to work with. They did a thorough job. I will definitely use them for yearly service. I contacted other companies through yelp - one wanted to charge almost double what HVDC did, one told us the vent under the house was broken and we needed a new line for $800, one told us that they would do the dryer vent cleaning only if we got all the other ducts/vent cleaned. Put off getting our dryer vent cleaned because I didn't think it necessary-but the wife insisted and she was right! The technician arrived on time and was friendly and professional. He started by removing a large birds nest with 5 eggs. He relocated it to a nearby tree. He then thoroughly cleaned our dryer vent from outside and inside the house. This family owned business has top rated service. The dryer duct cleaner actually educates his customers, and tells us what is needed and what he is doing. He is beyond thorough and checks all safety concerns. All other duct cleaners are like an assembly line, and don't use the vacuum or make sure it done property.
