Pros: Easy check in via Hyatt app. Skipped the front desk. Uses NFC tap for your room key. Premium breakfast included in my rate. Friendly staff. Clean rooms. Crispy linens. Bright white towels. Excellent Location. Fridge, coffee maker and iron in room. Cons: Ice machine broken on the 2nd floor. Some minor cosmetic issues on walls in bathroom and in hallway. $10 parking. First time at this location and I was impressed! I came for a networking event (shoutout to AMP ) and was surprised I hadn't noticed this spot before, having driven by it so many times. The space has a sleek, modern interior with clean lines & natural light. The setup was perfect for professional connections -- both indoor and outdoor spaces gave it a polished-yet-casual feel. Light appetizers were on point: simple, but well-curated for the event. Didn't stay overnight, but if the rooms match the vibe of the lounge area, this would make a great staycation pick -- especially with shopping, food, and entertainment just minutes away. The hotel is conveniently located in a shopping mall which includes a Trader Joe's and is a big plus for travelers. The hotel has minor issues like scuffed walls and detritus in the public areas. The hotel is only a little over a year old so I thought it would still be new looking and better kept. Our room was nice but the bathroom sink was dirty when we checked in. The front desk offered to clean it when notified but it should've been clean. The front desk person asked my husband the same question three times so he wasn't listening to the answer. It seemed like he was just going through the motions. Our room was next to the highway and you could hear the traffic so ask for a room that faces the mall. We were coming directly from the spotless and friendly Hyatt Meridian so it was difficult not to compare the two hotels. read more

Recent Saturday night stay with the Mrs and youngest. The hotel is new and modern and the room is the current Hyatt Place layout. They use vinyl plank for the flooring which I think is smart from a housekeeping standpoint. Downside is it does not do a very good job in blocking sounds from any room upstairs so be prepared to hear footsteps. Room was comfortable and clean. Downside? Breakfast was not included which was a surprise. They noted that they are one of hotels testing charging for breakfast. At $8 per person, it is not expensive but one of the reasons to stay at a Hyatt Place is the easy and decent included breakfast. Four stars for the hotel and room. Did not have a pleasant stay. Issue after issue, multiple items in the room broken and not working. Time clock was off by an hour still. The constant fan noise is very annoying and you can't turn it off. If air circulation was made mandatory, then they should have invested in QUIET fans!! The only good thing about this hotel is that it's new and updated, plus breakfast was good too. That's it. Won't be staying here again, I'll opt for an older hotel where I can actually turn the fan off. read more

Arrived late but the room was comfty. Almost stayed in but had to go back out for dinner. Check in was smooth. Room was fine. Only issues were them giving only 2 towels in there. Kinda odd knowing how many was in the room. We had to ask for more. The shower head was weak at this place too. The sheets were scratchy but many Hyatt place sheets are like that. Loud and scratchy. We stayed in many Hyatt Places this trip to compare and earn points. Some were better than others. This one was nice. We even had to do laundry here too but it took awhile because there was only a set and someone kept doing theirs so we had to wait for awhile. Oh must note that sun rise was beautiful here. The view was almost magical in the morning during breakfast time. And the breakfast bar was worthy of mention. They had great fresh items out. Super nice breakfast lady working there. Super kind and courteous. The seating area was ample and you can even sit outside. It was a nice set up. All in all it was a good stay. Not sure we love Reno enough to come back. But it was a nice cost especially after Tahoe. Not far at all. Lots of late night places around here. But glad we tried this place out this time around! read more

Very new property, reasonably priced, and was a great alternative to staying an extra night in Tahoe to save a little money since we arrived late in Reno. The rooms are very spacious with hardwood floors. The gym had many more cardio machines than the typical Hyatt place, also very spacious. My only complaint is that the one pelaton didn't have foot straps and apparently the staff had known about it for some time. There is beautiful artwork and nice furniture pieces scattered thoughout the property. The breakfast setup was pretty typical for a Hyatt place, but the food quality was above average. There is a ton of seating inside and outside, making it a comfortable place to grab some food at one of the many restaurants within walking distance and chill out. read more

I am very disappointed with my recent stay at Hyatt Place South Reno. The first night, the AC in my room wasn't working properly. I reported it the next morning and was told it would be fixed, but it never was. I mentioned it again that evening, and then again the following morning, and still nothing was done. To make matters worse, the phone in the room didn't work either, so communication was a hassle. Also not fixed. The front desk girl working in the mornings, was not helpful or understanding. Same girl both mornings and she seemed annoyed I asked for resolution. I asked to have a manager today, let's see if that happens. When I communicated to the lady working at last night she was very helpful but knew the maintenance person was already gone so wasn't much she could do. She was happy to change my room. I was just too tired at that point. It's my take they need to look at potential issues with their morning receptionist customer service skills along with maintenance personnel that actually fixes things. I noticed several broken light covers in the hallways. It's a great property with probably some staffing challenges. For the price this hotel charges, it's unacceptable to have to sleep in a room that won't cool properly and deal with poor customer service. On top of that, they now charge $10 a night just for parking. This place is definitely not what it used to be, and sadly, I will not be staying here again if things don't improve. It's gone down hill since I started staying in the begging of the year. Plus, I recommended this place to all my colleagues. So I was bringing them business. Update!!! Third night of my stay. Never got a call from a manager as requested by the way. The AC totally dies as I'm getting ready for bed. Have to go downstairs because phone still isn't working and I have to move all my stuff to another room. Pack and unpack. Super disappointed with this place. The new room. The locks broken. Ha! So we picked this place for a few reasons. Indoor pool, breakfast included, price and the beauty of the place. Pros: 1) The room was beautiful. With plenty of amenities. The windows shades keeps the room DARK! So dark that you need a flashlight to walk to the bathroom. 2) breakfast was good to include hot foods and juices and coffee. 3) location is surrounded by plenty of shopping and eating options. 4) heated pool. 5) great price. Cons: 1) I found two ibuprofen pills next to the refrigerator. Thank god I didn't have little ones who could have placed these in their mouth. This is a health and safety issue. Shame on you Hyatt. 2) the room was HOT! Luckily we were able to cool the room down. 3) the bed was not so comfortable. My lower back was killing me in the morning. 4) what we thought was an indoor pool was NOT an indoor pool. It's more of an open patio area. The pool is heated to 88 degrees but when it's cold outside, good luck getting out of the pool. In the end this was a decent stay. This place is far from any of the main attractions but worth the drive. I would come back. My biggest gripe was finding the ibuprofen. This was definitely a huge No No! read more

We stayed here on our way through town in late May 2025. It is a newer property but is up against a busy street. It sits inside of a mall parking lot meaning there is a lot of parking nearby, as well as restaurants to try. The rooms were comfy and clean and staff was nice. It also included a basic breakfast which was nice. We didn't get a chance to try the pool or fitness center. read more

To start my family and I came here the day before Thanksgiving and stayed until Friday morning. The price came to about $200 a night, and for what we got wasn't worth it. Here are just a few of the issues we had. First, the phone in are room didn't work at all. I attempted to call down to the front desk to ask when the gym closed (gyms open 24/7) and I discovered it didn't work. I attempted to fix it myself but had no luck. I had to call the front desk from my cell phone and they sent someone up to fix it. Second, the room was a little dirty and dusty. When I moved the bed over to try to fix the phone I saw the floor was covered in dust. Again, not what I expected out of a $200 a night hotel. Third, no house keeping at all. They never touched are room. Not sure if I needed to ask for it, but they never came to bring fresh towels or to clean. Fourth, they charge for parking, $10 a night. That really bothered me. I expect that when I'm staying on the strip in Vegas, but not a Hyatt in Reno. The few pros: staff were all very friendly, I just believe they're greatly understaffed. My parents who stayed In the room next to mine requested new towels multiple times and never got them. Morning breakfast is very nice, just make sure you don't sleep in, because it ends at 9am. Food was pretty good and lots to choose from (my kids loved it). The gym is pretty nice for a hotel gym. It's not a 24 Fitness, but it has the basics and it has what you need to get a workout in. I didn't check out the pool, but everyone I ran into said it was nice and water was warm. read more

Great new Hyatt Place. Excellent location...20 minutes from the airport. Excellent setting...walkable to food, shopping and entertainment options. Location is perfect. Staff were warm and attentive, a very nice breakfast offered every morning. Property is well maintained and felt very clean & safe. Stayed here 2 nights leaving July 20th. The atmosphere is pleasant, great location with access to restaurants and many things to do. We found the traffic to be noisy especially with loud motorcycles both nights. They did not have regular coffee for rooms because their supplier was out and really idn't seem to care. Our restroom was not clean at check in. Staff were nice. I would try another hotel before I came back. Just nothing special for the high price. Does not give locals a discount and you have to pay for breakfast. Not enough perks for me. read more

The rooms are SO HOT. I could barely sleep. There is no way to turn the heat down or off. I heard numerous other guests complaining about how hot their rooms were too. This is a brand new hotel and they clearly opened before they were ready for business. Friendly staff but it hardly matters when you book a hotel and you can't sleep because you're sweating in a 75 degree room. read more

The hotel was very clean and very modern. We were on the third floor and had a hissing/wind noise the minute we closed the door to our room. It was like our room was sucking air from the hallway. Went in with my partner Nov 12 and stayed the night there. Everything was great except I had lost a valuable item and have called several times to claim it. Each call person told me they would call back and didn't. I gave a third follow up call today, telling me they don't have it when I know I left it on the bed. The place needs to follow up with their staff on providing quick responses to lost and found calls, and also address stealing because I know for a fact I left it on the bed. read more

This place needs help. It's a brand new hotel, but they weren't ready to open. There were tons of workers running around my entire 3 day stay. The hotel reeked of sewage for the first two days. They decided to put VERY bright smoke detectors directly over the bed, literally lighting the bed up every 2 seconds. I got no sleep the three nights I had here. On my last night, the fire alarms in the entire hotel went off from 11pm intermittently until 2 am. No email or correspondence saying sorry or anything. The showers barely got hot, even the sink was a better heat to the water. The staff was either great or needed a lot of help. The front desk lady needed to finish her story to her coworker (who was looking at me saying hello sir) before choosing to ask what I needed. This place needs to take a break until they're ready to open, because it was one of the worst hotel experiences I've ever had. Will NOT be coming back any time soon! read more

Hyatt Place is new, clean, is near many restaurants/shops, has friendly staff BUT...I am giving a low rating because there is no way to turn the heating/cooling/fan off in the room. So that fekking blower is running all night and is LOUD. This is our second stay (gave it a second chance) as we are purchasing a house in the area but this room has same problem. I asked the host about it and was told the fan cannot be turned off. :( read more

Daniel and Krysslyn are the best! They made it feel like home and were so welcoming the second I had walked in. One of the cleanest and most helpful hotels I have ever been to! I highly recommend this place if you are staying in Reno. It also has lots of restaurant options around the parking lot that are walkable. read more
