My boyfriend and I booked a room here back in April 2015 and we had a wonderful stay. The hotel's decor is sleek and modern, and our comfortable living quarters on the 30th floor oversaw the serene river and beautiful skyline. It was just as we imagined our Hyatt experience to be. In addition, this hotel is conveniently located within walking distance to Magnificent Mile (think Rodeo Drive) and about a 10-15 minute bus ride to other prominent Chicago attractions (ie. "The Bean," Art Institute of Chicago,Natural History Museum). As 1st time Chicago visitors picking a hotel in a safe neighborhood was a top priority and the Hyatt Regency Chicago could not have been in a more central tourist destination. Overall this hotel is just not worth the money for what you get. It's one of those hotels where the closer you examine really anything you can see something wrong. Desk service was average, calling from the room was often unanswered. We had mold on the ceiling in the bathroom, live tv was not functioning properly, maids came 2 out of 4 days, the room itself was damp and dingy. Clothes would be damp from just laying out in the room. We came for a conference and the Wi-Fi in both the room and during presentations was very spotty, kicking you off about every ten minutes. The only thing this place has going is the location and ease of access to surrounding river walk. Plenty of restaurants close by, easy 10 min walk to the bean, 20 to art institute. Just can't justify the cost/value on this place. read more

My experience at the Hyatt Regency started off great, but as the days progressed I was severely disappointed. With the price tag attached to this place, you would expect the service to be quite amazing. I arrived early and had a room prepared for me. I chatted with the supervisor and throughout my discussion, I remember talking about the wonderful view of the Chicago waterfront. I got to my room - smack dab opposed to a view of a building. Disappointing, but to be fair, I didn't have the thought to request a room overlooking the water. But you'd think he would have. The rooms are great - large, clean and well equipped. The washroom was also spacious. I had everything I needed and room service brought things up quite fast for things that you may not have on hand or need to borrow (i.e. umbrella, iron). It was quite cozy. The real kicker was on my last day. Our conference had arranged shuttle buses to the airport. I asked people from our party and they said it would meet out front. The instructions we got were to check with the hotel staff at the front of the lobby closer to the time. I spoke to valet and they said the shuttles were at the west tower where the rideshare apps were picked up. I asked for confirmation multiple times. The shuttle was supposed to arrive at 3 pm, but I didn't see anything. I walked back and inquired on when it would be arriving. They told me that the shuttle had to be pre-booked. I told them they were mistaken as it was arranged and then they had told me that I had missed it. I was stranded. I had about 3 hours before my flight and it was rush hour. They told me to go to the concierge but when I explained what had happened, they said there wasn't anything they could do. Thanks a lot. read more

For the past several years my sorority has hosted our annual luncheon at the hotel. They have offered us a reasonable room block rate in addition to accommodating our unique requests. The catering and wait staff did a great job working with a staff of our size. The food came out hot and they met many of the requests of the guests. The monarch suites are also a nice suite area of the hotel. It is very spacious and meets the needs of our group. I also appreciate the discounted parking deal for guests and those coming in just for the event. In the future I hope to book a room and stay for the event and the weekend. read more

I forgot how convenient it is to a lot of downtown Chicago. it is a very large hotel not easy m and fuzzy like a boutique. It does have a convenient dinning area and bars. I stayed in a decent room with a king bed and river view. It's getting a bit dated but it was clean. The staff were excellent and the location is amazing. Valet was so convenient, of course it's pricey, that's showbiz baby. My issue is that I am a very deep sleeper yet I had the most fitful sleep here. It was terrible. I blame it on the uncomfortable bed (I'm used to Marriott, this bed really hurt my back) and the walls were paper thin which I think is what kept waking me. I seriously woke up every hour on the hour. I could hear the person in the room next to me clear as day. For the price it's fine and again the location is everything but I prefer Marriott. read more

I stayed at this hotel after booking on Hotwire as a special. I stayed on Thursday night April 11 as I had an 8 am presentation at a conference a few blocks away. First of a this is a gorgeous property. I arrived by taxi and enjoyed great service by the bell stand immediately. They encouraged me to go to the front desk for early check-in though I was expecting to drop off my luggage and return. I was greeted by Alex (from Cuba) after a short wait, and indeed he was able to get me assigned. He was also very knowledgeable about the property making suggestions to ease my anxiety. A few minutes later I realized my cell phone was missing. He signaled for another staff member to assist me. A young woman (I think a supervisor) then began asking me several pertinent question to contain and problem solve. Ultimately, we notified security and used an app to lock the phone and contact the driver. A few hours later the taxi driver brought the phone back to the bell stand where he left me, and the Security manager brought my phone up to the room. In closing, the room was great, nice view and of course a great set of amenities. I used the business center to print my presentation and the handouts... so convenient too, and Wendy who was welcoming and helpful even at 15 min to closing. Due to the phone drama my schedule was totally thrown off. In all, it has been SUCH a long time since I was this impressed with the quality of hotel service. This is one amazing hotel. Its location is perfectly situated a couple blocks from the Navy Pier, Magnificent Mile, and Millennium Park (where "the bean" is). It's got tons of amenities too! I stay here almost every time I come to Chicago. At first the main attraction was that the hotel is connected to my office through the underground mall. If you are in Chicago during the cold/snowy winter, this is a huge plus all by itself. Over time, I have grown fond of this hotel. The rooms are always clean and comfortable. The views can be very nice if you get a room facing the lake. Their big bar is a lot of fun. Stetson is a great experience. They also have a market (higher end 7-11) and a gift shop. They are located very well with easy access to the magnificent mile, the loop, millennial park and all the great attractions. If you are in town for business or pleasure, this a great place to use as the base. read more

Fitness Center: clean, state of the art fitness center with a nice view of the river. Friendly staff: staffs were friendly and helpful Con: no refrigerator. No microwave. Lack of insulation. Can hear next door neighbors' conversations. Carpet is old. We stayed in Hyatt Regency Chicago for three nights.!Took Uber from ORD for about $35. We stayed in the west tower. I highly recommend Amazon Go. To get there take the elevator down to 1sr floor then go down one level using the escalator. Walk through the connecting passage to 111 E Wacker. You'll also find Potbelly Sandwich Shop, Subway, florist, even a dental office. We toured the city by Chicago Hop-on HBig Bus. The first stop is conveniently located a couple of blocks away. Metra train Millennium station is also walking distance and can be reached through the under ground passageway. read more

Staff were professional, room was clean BUT as noisy as an airplane hangar. On 29th floor, not next to elevator, but some combination of elevator noise and building configuration gave me the worst sleep I've had in years. I stayed at the Hyatt Regency for two nights while I was in town for a conference. I had pre-booked with the conference rate and was able to link it to my Hyatt account. Tip: Check in online once you get the email because it takes a room out of their inventory and holds it until you check in physically. This meant that I was able to go up to my room when I arrived at the hotel around 10am. It was really helpful to drop my stuff off before heading to the conference area. The hotel is really big and can feel very crowded at times when the conference just lets out. But if you're out and about in the early am or later at night, it gets quieter. My room was very big and very clean. Beds were very comfortable. I slept like a rock. The location is also really close to a lot of attractions - Mag Mile, the Bean, and a ton of restaurants in the area. I only dined in the restaurant twice - once for lunch and once for breakfast. This review is as an event space. I spent four days here at the American College of Healthcare Executives 2018 Congress. Wish I had stayed in rooms there. The place is huge. Get a map or you will probably get lost for sure. The conference rooms are nice. Lots of places to peel off for a business call or an ad-hoc mtg. Everything is very clean and the staff there are great. American Craft Kitchen & Bar in the hotel. Had breakfast there twice. Food is good. Prices are hotel high however. This property is very large (2 buildings connected by a walkway). The lobby is massive and very modern. The rooms and the elevators are a little dated but they added some nice décor to spruce it up and make it up as modern as possible without doing a major renovation. Service is very good and the bars and restaurants very customer focused. On our last night here we had to call security because there was a hysterical girl in the hallway arguing (although there are signs in the hall specifically saying to lower your voice after 9 pm) with her boyfriend, Daniel. Poor Daniel. Apparently they were at a bar with their friends that evening and Daniel was talking to another girl throughout the night and "following her around like a lost puppy dog." Apparently he was talking to her 4 times throughout the evening (apparently someone was counting) and it didn't sit well with this frantic girl. She couldn't see how Daniel could "choose her over the relationship [they] had" even though she "didn't give a f*ck about her". Obviously. How could you Daniel!?!? All this and you ruined my nights sleep too! read more

The Hyatt Regency is where it's at if you are looking for a centralized hotel that's smack right in the middle of where the action is! From here you can walk to the Navy Pier, Millenium Park, the Purple Pig, the Magnificient Mile, and basically right across the street from the Architecture Tour. If you want to venture out farther there are always cabs, Uber, and Lyft are always waiting by the hotel eager to pick you up just outside. When you check into the hotel, they give you one voucher for every night you stay for a liter of water you redeem in the market downstairs. Like all hotels, there are a few things you need to be aware of. One of things I didn't like about this hotel was the thin walls. You can almost hear the other people swallowing. Ok maybe not that bad but even just a normal conversation is transmitted thru the paper walls. Speaking of, is this hotel popular with connecting rooms? I thought this was more common among motels? Our room had TWO walls with doors that joins the neighboring rooms. Remember the free water that you are able to redeem downstairs? Well this hotel is one of those that has the lame refrigerators that are slotted with stuff where you aren't allowed to remove the contents or you get charged. So much for cold water in the room. If you are a girl, chances are you won't have enough counter space in the bathroom. Just saying. And if you're spending the week here you should plan on living out of your suitcase bc this hotel doesn't have a dresser or racks to store your clothes! There was only about 8-10 hangers and once that's used up you end up throwing your clothes on the couch, bed, chair, etc... The shower doesn't have a whole lot of water pressure either which is important if you don't like trickle showers from a rain showerhead. Our toilet in our room was leaking and we had to close the door in order to sleep at night and even after the guy came twice it was still leaking! Guess they aren't that good at fixing leaks :( What we really did like was our view of the Chicago waterway from our room. The layout was kinda weird with the desk behind the bed but at least you have workspace huh? Well--I hope I pretty much disclosed all the good with the bad. You get what you get and I guess if you want location location location, you'll have to put up with some of the abnormalities even from a Hyatt Regency. read more

They Hyatt is a large property. There are 2 towers, each across the street from each other. From the outside it looks nice. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I found my room to be a bit dated, compared to the other hotel I stayed at earlier. The decor of the room needed to be updated. I found the bathroom to be small. The tub/shower had a shower curtain and the sink area small. Free wifi during my stay was great. The fitness center is large, comprised mostly of cardio machines. I would say 3/4 of it was cardio machines and the 1/4 area was for free weights and weight machines. They did have spin bikes, which I ended up using to burn off all the food I ate the following evening. The public area of the hotel is more updated than the room. Majority is in the east wing. The restaurants on the ground floor, bar on the 2nd level, and other restaurant on the 2nd level west wing looked more modern than the room. Overall I enjoyed my stay here. read more

I stayed here Easter weekend and wanted a place to crash after a show that wasn't with friends or family and it was awesome! There was a kid's volleyball conference going on and the place was swamped with kids, but they were well managed and I enjoyed myself despite the grounds looking like all of Nickelodeon raided the entire place. The rooms are modern, comfortable, and just as any other Hyatt, the staff are very attentive to your needs. The room I had was overlooking the Chicago River, the Wrigley Building, Apple Store, Dusable Bridge, Michigan Avenue, and the Chicago Tribune building. The location right where Ft. Dearborn once stood and is across the street from the Riverwalk, blocks from Millennium Park, and catching a cab or Uber is incredibly easy. Late check out was no problem and it was a different experience to play "tourist" in my own city. read more

The Hyatt Regency is a mega hotel in Chicago with 2 high rise towers consisting of over 2,000 rooms. Reservations were made months in advance. We drove here from Kansas City, and were a little behind our schedule. My wife was worried with our lateness and was concerned that we would not get a "premium" room that we had booked. We called the hotel while we were still about 4 hours away and spoke to the front desk. The front desk was great. The gentleman working the front desk heard my wife's concerns and reassured her that she would get a room with a great view. We arrived at the hotel in the late afternoon. The lobby of the hotel was massive. It was located on the second floor. The front desk clerk was friendly. She told us that we had a nice room on the West Tower on the 20th floor. When we went up to check out the room, it was exactly what we wanted. They gave us a room on an upper floor with a great view of both the Chicago River and Navy Pier. We had a fireworks show on a Saturday night. The beds were comfortable. They had a large screen tv in the room. It also had a small office area. They also had plenty of USB ports for recharging your phone or other electronics. Parking was expensive at $70 a night. There were other lots available close by, but, they did not have in and out privileges. We ended up booking a package that included our parking. But, we soon realized that it was cheaper to take a cab from hotel to nearby sites including restaurants than to pay the parking rates at the restaurants. The hotel had an area specifically for cabs with the bell man flagging the cabs for guests that wanted them directly in front of the lobby. They also had a few spots near the west tower designated for both Uber and Lyft. Housekeeping was wonderful! They did a great job cleaning our room and even gave me a couple of suggestions on where to eat. There were a few "pricey" restaurants/shops that you could get breakfast in the hotel that I was not impressed with. Go find the underground tunnel in the west tower. There you will find McDonald's, Dunkin Donuts, Portabelly's and other chain restaurants with cheaper food. Three nights was enough to empty my wallet, but, not enough to see Chicago. The staff treated us great. The hotel was in a great location. If only we had stayed a little bit longer. read more

Honestly, such a great stay. A much needed get-away and was looking for something different for New Years, I traveled to Chicago. Definitely glad I i chose to stay here. Everything about the stay was fantastic! From the lady checking me in, wish I recalled her name, to the New Years Eve setup. I do believe the mini mart could have been a bit better, providing more options of food, but manageable. The room itself was fantastic and cozy. I got a view of the city with a partial view of the river. With the snow falling, it was a great site to see upon waking up. Opening the blinds to a magnificent view. Wish it did snow more though. Right in the middle of everything, despite being cold, I walked everywhere. Sight seeing, food options, or just to walk; everything about this hotel seemed to be the ideal spot to stay. All staff were truly amazing, even got me an IPhone charger as mine had been misplaced. Highly recommend this hotel and I will be my place of choice to stay again!!! read more

After staying here, I've decided this is going to be my go to hotel whenever I'm in the Chicago area! From the moment we arrived, the hotel staff here were all so nice. They upgraded our room and even though we were early, had it all ready for us within the hour. Not that we would have minded the wait because there are so many beautiful sitting areas. In the little time wait, we ordered ourselves some delivery dim sum from nearby and were able to enjoy it in their comfy lounge chairs. More on these sitting spaces later! The room itself was nice and clean. Loved the showers--there was never a shortage of hot water and the pressure was excellent. Beds were comfy, tv was huge, and AC was strong if you needed it. The view of the river was also gorgeous. Speaking of the river and surroundings, it's close by to everything! I'd run the river walk every morning. Then I'd walk all along Michigan avenue to window shop. River walk was just across the street, 5 minutes away if anything. Michigan avenue with all its shops was about a 10 min walk away. As for the hotel facilities, I LOVE all the sitting areas. There's so many: the wide open atrium with natural lighting by the check in desk, the cozy space beneath the escalators, a darker moodier area by a fireplace, several other couches workspaces by and along the sky bridge. All of them were so well thought out as well with plenty of outlets in each individual area. I think the spaces were so plentiful that they rarely got crowded. Perfect for studying/working. As for the gym area, it has plenty of machines! My only gripe is that the open mat area can get a bit crowded as it's the only space for people to watch their form when they lift and for others to stretch and do other floor exercises. Overall I'd come back to stay here in a heartbeat though! read more

I can tell you for sure it's not these gross uncomfortable chairs...please get a designer who cares more about comfort and less about ugly. Because that's what you have. I have stayed here in the past, but, not recently. The Hyatt is a huge hotel complex of two large towers (East and West) located on East Wacker overlooking the Chicago River. The hotel is only a one block walk to the start of the Magnificent Mile. The location and views of the river are great. I checked into the hotel via my mobile app before hand, but, my specific room was not identified by the app. It seems to be a limitation of the app. When I arrived to the hotel and checked in early I requested a king bedroom overlooking the river, but, none were available so I was given room 2619 in the less desirable west tower across the street. When I entered my room I found it to be darker than most other hotel rooms. I opened the window drapes only to find the standard hotel windows are not that large. Also the adjacent tall building blocked the sun's rays into my room. I had the conference room rate of $281 inclusive of all taxes and fees. I was here for a conference over five days. The hotel has many services to offer. The conference services here were excellent although the underground maze initially is somewhat confusing until you learn your route. The underground connects both towers so it is quite large. A coffee shop is located in both towers. I received a 10% discount due to my conference attendance. I love their Big Bar and their Stetsons sushi and steak house. My daily maid service was spectacular. My maid always left a daily note in my room. read more

The Hyatt is a gorgeous hotel in the middle of downtown Chicago. It is right on the river which makes it a popular hotel. Unfortunately I was just at this location for a conference so I didn't get to see their rooms. But if they were anything like the rest of the hotel, they were probably very clean and modern. My only complaint about this hotel was that it was a little difficult to navigate around the different conference rooms. They seemed very spread out and it was easy to get turned around. The staff members of the hotel were VERY nice and never seemed bothered with helping the conference navigate where to go. read more

The hotel is nice and big but they have no valet parking available or their own parking garage. We have to park in a public parking garage which was way too far and confusing. My fiance has foot injury and he has to walk a really long distance to be able to get to the hotel. It was midnight so we couldn't find any better solution rather than walking around to find our way to the hotel. Dont ever choose this hotel if you get in late at night or dont want the parking hassles. Called them for help but this is the response " oh but the parking garage is only a block away!" Great location near Michigan ave and many hotspot downtown. We got a premium room looking into the navy pier, the river, and the bridges for new year's fireworks. The hotel is two buildings, one for the reception, bar, food, and entertainment, and the other is where the rooms are across a bridge. The area felt safe at daylight and during night time. I recommend using spot hero app for your parking. We paid more than %50 percent what the parking would cost if we haven't used the app. Our king room was fairly nice, not what we expected for such high level hotel, but the view is where it was for us. read more
