My family and I do a lot of travel. We have top tier status in many of the hotel chains. Because of this, we've been treated very well at many hotels and resorts. However, our experience with the Hyatt Regency Long Beach, specifically with Lesha (Guest Experience Manager) set the bar for the best service we've ever experienced. We were very fortunate to have Lesha assist my family in checking in for a weekend stay with my young children and parents. Lesha went out of her way to get us the best room available even though there was limited availability. Additionally, she went out of her way to decorate the room for my daughters' birthday as well as hand write birthday cards for them. This truly made our short stay at the Hyatt Regency Long Beach forever memorable. Could the rooms have been a bit brighter and more updated? Sure. But what Lesha and the rest of the crew at this hotel provided for my family and I, we will forever be grateful and appreciative for the quality of service at this beautiful oceanview hotel. The last time I stayed here was on a 4th of July. We had a prime location to view the fireworks. The staff ensured the view would be great when I booked the reservation. As nightfall came the staff began setting up chairs to view the show. 9:30, 9:45, 10...no show. We were infuriated. I specifically booked this location to enjoy the fireworks display from a class A venue and it didn't happen. I was ensured when I made the booking that the poolside view of the show would be amazing. Sadly I was misinformed. This was and remains the only year my family did not see fireworks on the 4th of July. Hyatt, this was a major let down for us and we have not returned to your location since that sad day. My first night I had an issue and a manager from house keeping made my concern disappear and took care of me. My room was upgraded and I had a great view. In addition to getting a better room, I got to go to the regency club and I enjoy free appetizers. I am very happy they took care of my concern and they made my stay comfortable and pleasant. The hotel is closed to the beach and different restaurants. I do not come to Long Beach often but I highly recommend this place because of the location and service. I am now a permanent fan of the Hyatt hotel chain! I got married at Hyatt Regency La Jolla three months ago, spent part of my honeymoon at the Hyatt Regency Waikiki, and used some remaining points at the Hyatt Regency Long Beach. It was literally 100 degrees outside and they gave each guest a water bottle, popsicle, and a two-for-one coupon for a future visit. Then, they gave my wife and I an upgrade to the 16th floor where the Regency Lounge is. To really make my wife and I feel welcome, they sent a wine and cheese plate up to the room. And the room. Where do I begin? When my wife and I walked in, we were blown away by the ocean view as well as the view of the Queen Mary. We noticed a nice "Welcome" sign with our names on the TV. Not just that, we were amazed how nice the room was decorated and how modern everything was. An audio/video/HDMI panel on the wall next to the TV with four outlets? Super cool! Never seen that before in any hotel room. Next time my wife and I come up to Long Beach, we are definitely staying here. They treat you like royalty! read more

In need of room upgrades: ours was somewhat run down and décor is dated. Though several eateries surround the property, there was no restaurant on the premises. Customer service is important, but the bartender was super rude. Maybe the same one others complain about? We were acknowledged with a head nod but no service. Came here for a wedding across the street at the Aquarium and had to stay overnight due to time. Upon arrival, immediately the sign said $40 for overnight self parking, $45 for valet. At the counter, the price for a room was $50 extra if you ordered a room there vs on your Hyatt account on your phone. When we proceeded to our rooms, I noticed the King room was tiny as can be and was a lot smaller than expected. Nevertheless, decided to use the restroom and realized that there's no vent (stank up to the heavens after going #2). After showering, the bath tub water leaked out onto the bathroom floor and we had to use towels to dry it. Next morning, every 30 minutes you would hear doors opening and closing due to neighbors checking out. If felt as if the walls were paper thin. Breakfast was not included, wifi worked ok. Even though the furniture is worn and noticeably old, the location and the view is unbeatable. From my room on the eleventh floor, the panoramic view of the Long Beach harbor, including the Queen Mary and the lighthouse is simply breathtaking. The Tides served up one of the best sea bass I've ever had, but it is not open for dinner on some nights. The staff is helpful and courteous. Parking is convenient but expensive. For me, the best part is that the neighborhood around the hotel is choke full of Pokemon and Pokestops. A walk along the harbor toward the Aquarium and Pierpoint Landing always ensures a bountiful reward of catches. I almost caught a Gyarados near the Yard House restaurant, but it ran away after only two Ultra Balls. read more

We visited Hyatt Regency Long Beach for a mini local getaway shortly after Christmas. The hotel is located conveniently in the city as my party could walk to a shopping mall, brunch restaurant, and cafes within 10 minutes. A mini lake surrounds the hotel with swan boats which offers a beautiful view from the rooms. The hospitality was amazing. Specifically, we checked in with Walter and he was very kind and helpful. He went above and beyond during our check-in and started our trip off with an amazing encounter. In addition, the parking at this hotel is great; accessible, and spacious. A beautiful hotel overlooking the harbor and the Queen Mary, with an absolutly breath taking view from my room. I stayed in the harbor suite which was huge with a beautiful sitting area and a couch that turned into a bed. Hands down, one of the best experiences at a hotel. Only a couple of critiques. So conveniently located next door to the convention center. Checking in was a breeze. Very kind and helpful staff. They took care of our parking which was a wonderful treat. Pricing is on the higher end, but worth the location convenience. The rooms are clean. Love the keurig in the room. The microfridge never seemed to be as cold as it should be. There is no microwave which doesn't help with leftovers. Did not experience the pool or fitness rooms. Food selection is ok. In the lobby there is both a small quick service and a market. The food down at the lobby is ok, but pricey. The avocado toast was delicious but didn't really fill us up. Bathrooms in lobby were kept very clean even with everyone from the convention using them all morning long. They had a Nintendo switch in the lobby which those who stay there can use. They also show a movie on Saturday nights for families. Overall, a very nice place to stay. We will be back next year. read more

Hotel rooms are still nice and the staff were lovely and helpful as they possibly could. However I can't say the same about the higher up's and management of this business. Poor decisions are being made to save money by taking away complementary items like mini fridges and microwaves. And you're still paying a lot for this hotel!!!!! I was here for a conference and this place knocked it out of the ball park! My room was a nice size, comfortable bed but I didn't like the pillows so much. I had a harbor view which was exquisite , especially in the morning. The staff was excellent at every touch point. The food was very well prepared , fresh, mostly healthy. The bar on the lobby floor is comfortable and friendly. It was too cold during my visit to hang at the pool, but it looked very pleasant and there is a bonfire there in the evening. This hotel is conveniently located near restaurants, an outlet mall, shops and there are lovely pedestrian and cycle paths that will move you around the harbor and take you to the beach. I loved the stay, everything was PERFECT! read more

This is at best a 3 star property and maybe not even that. Good location if you need to be in the area but the property is very dated and the rooms are very tiny (and they don't feel very clean). The in hotel food is practically non existent and not very good at that. I'm surprised this has the Hyatt Regency brand name attached to it. read more

We came here on a Friday, had a late lunch in their Food Mart area. I ordered their Turkey Club Sandwich and my wife ordered the Chicken Finger plate. Food was good and when we checked in our room was ready also. Great views from our room and w e have easy access to the eating areas We were told that they have a great Breakfast BUFFET. Awesome hotel with amazing views of the Port of Long Beach. The hotel has a large bright and airy lobby area with a kids play area that for some reason my kids were addicted to which was a nice touch. Lobby bar and restaurants along with multiple sitting areas and easy access to the pool. Our room was large, clean and modern with a sweeping view of the Port and the flurry of cruise ship activity which was fun to see. The staff was friendly prompt and helpful. We checked in after a 7 hour drive and we couldn't get into the room due to a malfunctioned door lock, we had to change to a different room. Then my digital key stopped working after one day... Due to my World of Hyatt status, I got upgraded to the harbor view room which was nice of them. However, the window screen broke on the third day so we were unable to see the view. The internet went down the same day.... This hotel is located in a great location, minutes walk to everything you need to see in Long Beach. But it definitely need some TLC to fix some of these facility issues. Good thing is the staff there were super helpful, especially Bret, the Director of Security went above and beyond to make sure we are happy. Stayed at the Hyatt Regency in Long Beach over the weekend after going to Taste of Brews. Check in was super easy (I used hotel tonight to book a couple days before) and parking was a cinch! Be advised that self parking is $29/night and valet is $35/night. An option for a place to keep your car if you're going on a cruise that docks in the nearby harbor. We were greeted by a friendly concierge by the name of Travis who proceeded to tell us how much he loved the city (We Do too!), and he speedily checked us in! He gave us a room on the 11th floor with a beautiful sweeping view of the Rainbow Harbor and Shoreline Village... we could even make out some of the Pike with its light up Ferris wheel and neon bridge! The Queen Mary. Travis also hooked us up with a complimentary breakfast buffet in their in house restaurant Tides for the next morning. The hotel room was pristine, amenities were great. The TV... wow. It was nearly as big as the wall it occupied. Lol! I would definitely stay here again, I felt very much at home at the Hyatt.. or perhaps because it was Long Beach read more

HYATT REGENCY LONG BEACH was a quick staycation. Our room was spacious with minimal furnishing. They have a ground floor pool which is on the side facing Shoreline Drive. We enjoyed their IPA and burgers during happy hour and hearty breakfast the next morning. The burger was most delicious! The hotel is also within walking distance of The Pike shopping center, Shoreline Village, and downtown area on Pine. I didn't give this hotel a full 5 stars as there were huge stains on the underside of the comforter. Housekeeping needs to do a better job of checking before remaking a bed. I guess we know what went down in this room! Valet parking more than three hours and overnight parking are both $27. Entrance to the hotel is off of Pine (eastern side) right before you reach Shoreline Drive. Continue past valet to continue onto self parking. read more

My family and I normally haunt the Holiday Inns or Comfort Inns. But, being that we were taking a special Christmas trip- we decided to go big and stay at The Hyatt. Honestly, what a mistake. Yes, the location was great! Close to shopping, many restaurants, and the beach BUT the hotel was substandard at best. Our room : we paid extra to have the Oceanside view, only the minute we walked into the room, and immediately went to raise the blinds- they were broken. We had to trot down and obtain help from their "engineering " crew...Hahahahah, engineers. It took them about a 1/2 to replace the blinds, they were THAT broken. Ok, back to the view right? Ah, no. Because there were three of us crammed into a very small space- we began to fog up the windows so badly that they were dripping. The a/c unit was set to 64 degrees our entire 2 night stay and it was barely comfortable in the room. After watching the "engineers" bumble their way through the window blinds, severely scratching the window in the process, we decided to just make the best of it. Anytime we wished to view the Queen Mary, or the ocean we would just grab a towel to wipe down the windows. The entire stay was uncomfortable. Going "up scale " for our Christmas stay was a big big BIG mistake. Condescending staff, a subpar room and not even a view. Sorry Hyatt, but our stay sucked. read more

Stayed at the Hyatt Regency Long Beach for a couple of nights on a quick weekend trip to Southern California. We checked in a little late due to a late flight, however it was a quick and easy check in. Room was clean and the bed was comfortable. There is one electric outlet on each side of the bed and the one on my side did not work. I have read other reviews about the sheets not being clean, but this was not the case. There was a nice big 50-55inch tv inside the room as well as a mini fridge to keep the drinks cold. Bathroom shower pressure was pretty good and the water temperature did get pretty warm/hot. The room we had also connected to the room next to us. Not sure if the noise we heard from other people were from next door or a few rooms down. We did not really stay inside the hotel that much, so we didn't really explore the hotel. There were many of tables set up for registration for a convention in the lobby. I would imagine that this hotel would be ideal for those who have a convention at the hotel or nearby as the Long Beach convention center is right next door. Across from the hotel is the Pike Outlets shopping center and other restaurants and Starbucks shop within walking distance of the hotel. The staff who interacted with us were nice and friendly. There is valet and self park for those who have cars like we did. We used self park for this trip. It is a little pricey at $31 for overnight parking, but you can go in and out as you please as long as you're a hotel guest. read more

This place is so awesome! Not only is it clean and beautiful with a great view of shoreline village but the staff is also amazing. We stayed there for a night on our way home and my son left behind his favorite stuffed animal. We had no idea that was where we left it. Today a member of the security team called my husband and told us they found "buddy" and are sending him home free of charge. They also sent us this picture. We booked 2 nights here for my wedding. Our wedding ceremony/reception wasn't at this hotel, we got married in Rancho Palos Verdes. Decided to book this hotel since it has nice views and rooms looked decent in photos online. Check-in process was quick and easy and front desk was very friendly. The lobby was nice. I got 2 rooms, one suite and one a regular room. I got the suite to get ready for the wedding, room was really nice exactly like the photos on website, had a lot of space and clean. The view was great. The other room we got a king bed for my now husband and room was nice as well. My bridesmaids and I got hair and make up done in the suite and we had 3 make up artists with their own work space and we still had space in the room. The only reason I don't give this place 5 stars is because of parking! They charge $30 a day just for parking, in my opinion they should be free if you're paying for the rooms! I had to pay parking for my make-up artists, photographers and videographers so I spent about $150 just for parking for them and they were only there for about 4 hours, and that's not including my family's 2 cars which were parked for 2 days so that's another $120. The food at market place wasn't that great, but they do have restaurants near by that are walking distance. We didn't get to check the pool out since we were busy and tired after the wedding. Overall, very nice hotel but I was not happy with the parking costs. read more

Pleasantly surprised by this hotel. The room I had was uniquely laid out, spacious, and a fantastic view. Last night I was reading in bed and for some reason a firework display was lit off - and I had a perfect view of it through the 6 large windows... while lying in bed! Unique experience. There seems to be a ton of different stuff to do here but unfortunately my stay is too short to check it all out. I slept well and the beds are comfortable. Surprisingly they both were torn up at the bottom. Not a big deal, just ratty looking. I would recommend this hotel. read more

Great hotel with recent upgrades. Awesome staff, especially Cely at the front desk. She went above and beyond at check-in and check-out on one of the busiest holiday weeks. Hotel is clean and well-stocked. Only improvement would be to have more options food-wise, but it's understandable why they don't given their location to so many restaurants. This hotel is really 100% of what I was looking for. I can confidently say I have nothing for them to improve on. From the moment I got out of my Uber, a very kind doorman was there to help me with my bags, the front desk staff was extremely helpful and courteous, the room was gorgeous with new everything. The property it's self has so much to offer. I felt zen, I felt carefree and felt valued. The location is great and central. The room was newly renovated with brand new amenities and anything you needed. It was extremely comfortable and efficient. The surrounding area is gorgeous, my room overlooked a lagoon and the Pier. My wife and I are newly weds and I wanted to surprise her with a quick weekend trip in Long Beach with a stay at Hyatt. Due to our work schedules, we wound up with an early morning flight arriving at 8am. I am not sure if this is the same for everyone but my wife doesnt feel comfortable traveling around with suitcases. I called a day or two before our arrival to determine if it would be possible for us to get an early check in. The front desk was very friendly and told us it would be an extra charge if we wanted to check in that early but they would try and see if rooms are available and to ask on the morning of. Upon our arrival, Maria helped us check in early as a gift to us! She then proceeded to astound us by gifting us complementary club and parking access! She also gave us advice on our room selection, we had initially wanted a top floor 10-16 for the best views but she said floors 7-10 also give the same exceptional view. Maria also took care of any small requests we had with the utmost efficiency and friendly attitude. There never was a moment we would never pass by the front desk without seeing a smile on Maria's face, no matter who she was talking to. The staff at Hyatt definitely were the cherry on top of our amazing trip! We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay here at Hyatt and would definitely stay here again the next time we drop by Long Beach. Regarding the Hotel: The hotel has an amazing view, the location was close to all the sites we wanted to see. Most importantly to us the staff are all exceptionally friendly. We had left a note of small requests to our housekeeping and they exceeded our expectations as well as even left us a small smiley face on our note! The hotel area is safe even at night but the downtown area nearby the hotel (about 3-4 traffic lights away) can get a little rowdy at night. This hotel is located in a great spot... close to all things business and entertainment. The building is modern and clean inside and out. The staff are kind and accommodating. My only criticism would be the pool. It is quite small and located awkwardly in the main sitting and business area of the hotel... a lot of eyes on you... not very relaxing (not too family friendly.) Since there are a whole host of things to do around the hotel, a swimming pool at this hotel really isn't a deal breaker for a decision to stay here. read more
