I've stayed here multiple times on business, and these folks are some of the best in the industry. The people are always very accommodating. I always get a nice warm greeting when I arrive, and the staff are willing to serve. The rooms have a nice modern look, and I've always opened the door to a clean room. The gym is fairly decent, but I have yet to check out the pool. The beds are nice and soft, but the pillow selection is limit to extra squishy or stiff. Not a huge problem, and there is no shortage of pillows. If you like having extras around, this place has it! Desk and lounge chair are a nice touch, cabinets are great as well. My only beef is that the cable is incredibly slow to change channels, and I know that's petty to say. However, if I'm paying for a very nice hotel, the technology should be up to par. The wifi is decent, and I think the speed largely depends on how full the hotel rooms are. Overall, you have great restaurants attached to the hotel, and a well-stocked convenient store. In the heart of Reston Town Center, I'd say this place is a great choice. You'll have an excellent stay, great staff, and a very pleasant experience. read more

Having to travel between London, England and Dulles alot for work, this is where the company puts me up ... and it is not too bad at all The rooms are always spacious and very clean, and there is high-speed internet access for $9.99 a day, alongside a great breakfast buffet and gym. The open plan bar area is a little strange, as you feel like you are sitting and chatting in a shopping centre, so not the best for casual business meetings, but overall a very comfortable place to stay ... but hey, I'm not paying when I go there! read more

Staff member security guard, violated covid guidelines by not wearing mask within two feet from my friends, as they were waiting for me in the lobby. I'm extremely upset they were treated this way. My husband and I stayed here for two nights while in town for a friend's baby shower and thought the hotel was pretty decent. The beds were incredibly comfortable, although the pillows were a bit too soft. Our room included a very nicely sized bathroom with tons of amenities. The water pressure on the shower was better than most hotels. We had a lovely view of Reston Town Center, just off the main square. They two events while we were there, one with a live band and we couldn't hear it at all which was great. On the first floor, there are tons of amenities - a restaurant/tavern, a small convenience store, several clothing stores, a Panera Bread, and adjacent parking, (which unfortunately costs per night). We definitely enjoyed having the amenities. Two things we noticed that were just off: 1. Vending machines - no food vending machines were available for after the store and restaurant/tavern close for the night. With all of the bars around, I'm sure people get back late, (we got back around midnight) and well, you're screwed. 2. The free breakfast opens at 6:30 - which if you have a super early flight and you have to be out of there, you don't get breakfast - happened to us and it sucked because we were counting on that instead of having a lame breakfast at the airport. Anyways, this was a decent stay and I'd stay here again, but minus a star for the two issues we had. read more

This is in a great location and there are plenty of restaurants. The hotel itself is modern and updated but I have stayed in better. I only stayed here for 1 night due to moving in another place in another state and the stay was good enough for what it was. Parking was $16 ... gave me a flash back of my NY stay one time. The bed was not comfortable and the towels were hard like someone took them and washed in the Potomac river and hung them out to dry. Would I stay here again?... probably not. read more

I recently had a terrible experience at the Hyatt Regency Reston in which the hotel security let a drunk (that I do not know) into my room at 2:45AM. This drunk person convinced the security guard that his friend was in my room, which he was not. I woke up to someone I do not know less than 5 feet away from me. When I called front desk about this they offered me free breakfast... After a few choice words, that night was comp'd but that does not do their mistake justice. My husband and I got married on March 31,2017 the Hyatt accommodated our guest and provided us with a suite that was out of this world Thank you Sara! All our guest was cared for with delicacy. All of the staff was fully aware of who we were and our purpose there and they treated us like royalty. They hand delivered welcome gifts to our guest that we provided as a special touch upon all arrivals to their rooms. They assisted one of our guest with a large bag to Fedex which is off property (talk about above and beyond) they even provided late check outs to accommodate travel requirements because most of our guest travel from out of town. We will always book rooms at this Hyatt for our special events the level of service was more than the 5 stars we can give on yelp! Stayed here during a recent business trip. The hotel was well below other area hotels and much better furnished. The staff was friendly and promptly addressed all questions . The in house restaurant is pricey compared to other local nearby fare. Of which there are hundreds to choose from. The hotel is located in the downtown square and because it was during Christmas, the town of Reston went all out. Including an outdoor ice rink beside the hotel. Definitely will be back read more

Most of the stores are "higher-end" and I found most of the people that work in the surronding restaurants and stores were rude; but that wasn't the hotels fault. Clean and modern decor. After visiting this hotel twice, I can safely say it's my favorite property for business travel. If you are working anywhere in Reston, the Hyatt seems to be convenient to mostly everything, including a short 15-20 minute trip from Dulles (IAD). The shuttle service is reliable and prompt, although it only departs once per hour and ceases at 10:00pm. The doormen, valets and front desk personnel are all extremely courteous and helpful and the housekeeping service seems to be above average. Rooms at the Hyatt Reston are excellent. Although this is not a 5-star hotel, the accommodations are more than adequate, especially for a solo business traveler. I've stayed in both the larger corner room and the standard King room - no problems either time. The alarm clocks are iPod compatible but sadly do not fit the iPhone. Perhaps the best part about this hotel is its location. A Panera Bread is immediately off the spacious lobby and offers free WiFi for those who don't want to pay for the hotel's internet access (and who does, really?). Walk outside the back door of the hotel and you are in the Reston Town Center, an outdoor mall with plenty of shopping and restaurants. I can't vouch for the hotel's restaurant or room service, but my favorite dining in the area is Big Bowl (better suited for a separate review). For those who are interested in amenities, the Hyatt's gym is, by far, the best I've ever seen in the context of hotel gyms. It's not a closet with a treadmill and a couple of beauty bells. This facility offers several treadmills complete with TV and fancy course charting, a bar/rack with enough pins to serve as a squat rack or bench press, kettle bells, dumbbells up to 70 lbs. each and heavy ropes for intense training. It also has a few Free Motion machines and Swiss balls. Easily the nicest hotel gym I've ever seen. The pool and hot tub are quite nice as well. You absolutely cannot go wrong with the amenities at the Hyatt Reston. Overall, the Hyatt is a fantastic choice for business travel. Aside from the high rates (over $250/night average) and the lack of free WiFi/Ethernet in the rooms, there is really nothing negative about this hotel. read more

I had a great experience at this Hyatt. I got in rather late and the front desk was friendly and very welcoming. She saw my Hyatt status and provided me with several options for my perk, which was very nice to have a choice. The room was spacious and very clean, which was nice since I was there for a few nights. Location is great. Walking distance to shopping and dining. I wish I had had more time to explore the shops that are out the back of the hotel. In the winter their is an ice rink which was a nice surprise. I was very pleased with my recent stay here. I arrived on a red-eye, and the staff found a room available for me early in the morning so I could get a quick nap and a shower before my first meeting of the day. The room was spacious and comfortably furnished. Two windows provided ample natural light with the curtains open; with the curtains closed it was dark enough to sleep during the daytime. One slightly weak spot is the hotel's Market Grill restaurant. The breakfast buffet is way overpriced for the choices offered; ordering from the menu was cheaper and just as satisfying. read more

I'm here for a daytime conference, thus this review is for their conference center. I'm am thoroughly impressed by the food they have prepared for us - everything tasted good. The breakfast and lunch were both good, but the cream of the crop was the hors d'ouvres. The servers and staff were extremely professional and kept all the drink stations stocked and kept the conference space very clean so the event could go off without any issues. read more

This is the 2nd time I have stayed at this hotel. The 1st time as not good at at all. I thought to myself, why not give them a 2nd chance so I did. I got a suite which I expected to be really nice. It look good when we walked in and very clean. Then I tried to find a glass in the bathroom and there was non to be found. I called the front desk and spoke with a staff. He said we don't have glasses to provide to guests and then hung up on me. Weird right? Then later that night I wanted to take shower. The shower ceiling was puffy like there was water build up under the ceiling. After that. We went at sat on the couch. My friend sat down and slid right off the couch cushion. We placed the Cushion back and they would not stay on the couch. It was extremely weird and uncomfortable. Then we went out to dinner and when we came back all but one elevator worked. A man working for the hotel suggested we take the stairs. Really? We are on the 12 floor. We then waited close to 30 minutes in a line to use the elevator. The next night they must have had a company Christmas party. There were a bunch of intoxicated people out front waiting on rides and falling all over the drive way. They were loud and cursing walking around with beers. So, positives? Ummmm well, the room was clean. The house keepers were nice and friendly and the location was great. Very expensive and upscale but unfortunately multiple requests went unanswered. I got to sleep in on the last day of my business trip; but they started some repairs in a neighboring room (that I could hear through the vent system) at promplty 7:55am. It sounded like someone was trying to break into my room as I groggily woke up and finally looked out the window - didn't see anything and identified the sounds as coming from the vent system (then when the drilling started, I called downstairs to ask it to stop.) By then I was wide awake. :( AND. Don't trust the front desk to do something without getting it on paper! Upon checking in, I had figured out that I had accidentally booked my trip for the wrong month - they charged me the typical 1 night non-cancellation fee. I asked if they could apply it to this trip because I am planning on being back and I had obviously made this trip a month later. They said yes they'd take care of that, and yet no go - no new receipt, no refund receipt, unanswered calls/emails to Hyatt... added: The refund from the 2nd issue is finally on my credit card. But still no receipt from them; and now their online services cannot find a folio. read more

I was told that the continental breakfast was free by one of the staff members in the kitchen and even double check with him to make sure it was free. Half way through my meal I receive the check for $23.32 and I ask what it was for because I was told that the breakfast was complimentary and she said that it's not and that I have to pay with either cash or card. I would have gone somewhere else for breakfast if I knew it was going to be $23 to eat some granola and 5 potatoes. This is ridiculous. read more

It was only when I received my credit card statement some weeks later that I noticed they also charge me an additional $500 the following day after we had checked out. Their accounts department were curt and suggested somehow it was my fault. After insisting they check their records they did indeed confirm that they had charged someone else's reservation to my credit card. Made a reservation THREE MONTHS IN ADVANCE for a wedding, drive four hours to get here, and then get told that my wife and I are being bumped from our original reservation to a room with what essentially amounts to children's beds, with nothing but a half-hearted fake apology from the check-in drone. Hey, Hyatt management, when people make a reservation a quarter of a year in advance and drive across three states to get to your hotel, maybe give them what they asked for. And if you have to bump someone, don't bump the people who reserved more than ten rooms in your hotel based on the (now disproven) myth of your service. Had I not already paid for your garbage in advance, and had ALL OF THE WEDDING LOGISTICS not already been planned around your hotel, I would have turned the hell around and walked out. And it turns out that everyone in this wedding is having the exact same issues I am. My boyfriend and I stayed here for my friend's wedding two weeks ago. I read the reviews with some trepidation, but figured we could expect a nice experience as this is a Hyatt. For the most part, the hotel is nice, modern, and a comfortable place to stay. However, issues with housekeeping soured the experience for me. Positives: --Location, location, location! The Hyatt is extremely well-located in the middle of Reston Town Center. This is truly the center of it all, so it's next to impossible to not find a great restaurant, entertainment, or shopping within steps of the hotel. It's especially nice to wander around the town center, as there are several parks and weekend festivals during the warmer months. --The front desk staff and bellmen were courteous and very professional. They tried to accommodate my request for a higher floor and corner room as best as possible, and were always very pleasant to deal with. There was a minor mix-up when I never received our wedding favor in the room, and the front desk was quick to respond and couldn't do enough to resolve the issue. Very efficient! --Free airport shuttle to Dulles, and free shuttle to the Reston metro station (but no pickups from there -- ???) --Rooms are recently renovated, with fresh bedding and modern furniture. Lots of outlets for charging all your electronics, as well. --Nice toiletries, and complimentary lemonade and water in the lobby during the afternoon --Panera is conveniently located off the lobby, in addition to a restaurant and several shops Negatives: --No shuttle pickup from the Reston metro station - not a dealbreaker, but it would have been nice to be picked up from the metro rather than having to find public transportation. --For a nice hotel, the walls are surprisingly thin. I went to bed early on our first night here, and I could hear the people in the next room talking, and they weren't even being that loud. --No late check-out. Knowing we had a late flight on our final day, I called to ask for late check-out on day 1 and they were simply not having it. No exceptions. The staff was really unhelpful and rude about it as well. --Housekeeping was atrocious! We stayed for two nights, and the housekeeping staff didn't even come to our room to clean until 4pm. To add insult to injury, they did a poor job cleaning the room and didn't even replace the toiletries we needed. One shouldn't have to call and ask for shampoo - if it's missing, it should be replaced, period. --On our final morning, housekeeping was banging on the door at 9am, despite the do not disturb sign on the door and check-out time of 12pm. We told them to come back later, and the attendant looked visibly annoyed. Just unprofessional. Honestly, there's a lot of positives about this hotel, but some points in the service side of things were pretty lacking. Normally, I'd give the experience a solid 3 stars, but for the poor way housekeeping is handled here, I'm docking it a star. Just not acceptable. read more

We rented a suite and 3 other rooms for a function. The suite had an awesome view and the rooms were reasonably priced. The suite was actually much bigger than expected and our guests loved it. I had considered the same arrangement at National Harbor at the Gaylord and I am so glad I did not book there... their prices would have been much more for less space. After staying at this hotel for four nights, I can definitely give it a thumbs up. Located about 22 miles from Washington, DC, this place has a Panera Bread in the lobby and numerous shops and restaurants that surround the hotel. The customer service has been top-notch, from David, the bell man with his wide smile, to Susan, the concierge who gave us great directions to shopping and the Metro, to the ladies in the Regency Club, who served us continental breakfast in the morning and appetizers and drinks in the afternoon/evening. My friends and I have had a relaxing stay while in town for the Inauguration. Oh, and the fitness room is a notch above that of other hotels where I've stayed, featuring the some of the same Life Fitness weight machines that are at my 24 Hour Fitness gyms, plus an array of kettle bells, medicine balls, and free weights. This place has everything for those seeking a vacation spot in this neck of the woods. read more

Overall a nice hotel. The gym is really great and the room was decent. The one star reflects the poor choice by some person (hopefully it isn't karma) to put me a few doors down from the hospitality suite for a bridge tournament. As I lay awake listening to people cackle and cheer in the hall, I wonder what I did to deserve this. This is night four of this disaster and since they're booked, I'm stuck. Plus the front desk didn't care about my dissatisfaction. If you're coming for work, don't stay here unless you're looking to learn some bridge tricks. Well after a 2 night stay we realized we had mold in our tub and hair. The hotel was overall ok until we wanted to extend our check out time to 5pm. Well the manager yoldus ythey were all booked up and that everyone had to checkout on time and that they weren't honoring late check outs today even though other guests had paid for for it. Anyway the manager was very nasty about the extended checkout and proceeded to tell ne well your room was ready when you checked in so yhe other guests want theirs to be as well. But I had a question for her how can you offer me another night if your all booked up, that means someone is not going to have a room when they come to check in. So at that point she began to say yep your right with everything. Elizabeth the manager was very rude, and I don't understand how you can be so rude when th place cost so much!! Wow. I haven't been to a hotel in a long time that lacked professionalism as much as this Hyatt did. Some things are so frustrating I can't spend the energy to write about. Let's start with the first night and the mess room service was. Got in from my flight late, all I wanted was a side of bok choy and glass of wine. Ordered it and 20 minutes later they call back and tell me they're out of bok choy. Ok, how about the beet caprese? Nope, that's not on the menu, you must have an old menu. Ok, how do I get a new menu? Call the front desk. Ok, by the time I call the front desk, get an updated menu, order, and have it delivered it'll be at least an hour and I'll be asleep by then. To make up for this, you would think they would offer to send the glass of wine on the house. They didn't so I asked. Hold on, Sarah gets on the phone, I guess she's the room service manager, she declines my suggestion for the glass of wine. So I call the front desk and explain what happened and they agree on the glass of wine to please their customer and make up for their screw up. Sarah comes up with the glass, dressed like a teen in middle school, and starts to give me an explanation on why they had the old menus in the room...don't want to hear it. Just apologize. Night two. Even worse. I get back to my room after a long day of training since I was there for business. Start packing and a man knocks on my door with a toothbrush. You order a toothbrush? Nope. Figure ok dude had the wrong room...simple mistake. 11:30pm rolls around while I'm sleeping and I hear a bang on the door. Not a knock, a bang. I'm thinking this must be an intoxicated someone with the wrong room. I reeeally don't want to get up from bed so I lay there thinking he'll figure out it's the wrong room. BANG BANG BANG 5 more times for 5 minutes. Fly out of bed, open the door and it's someone from the hotel with a stack of towels. You order towels? NO! .....Call the front desk, ask them how they're getting the room wrong, and how they keep track of who orders these things and confirm it's the right guest. Well, a man walked by the front desk and asked for towels for room # ___. Ok, that's obviously not me so please make sure you don't send anyone else up to my room, I'm not ordering these things. "What would you like me to do for you ma'am, you're already getting breakfast for free? " says Ryan, the manager on duty. He really didn't have to say that like he thought I was a spoiled brat and the company I'm with treating us to breakfast has nothing to do with the current situation. 5 minutes later a third man knocks. You order a power strip? Holy cow, I lost it. This hotel seriously needs to get organized. I call down again and Xavier is the manager on duty now. Maybe Ryan didn't want to deal with anything since it was the end of his shift. Xavier promised to figure something out to make up for their many mistakes and I never heard from him. Made a reservation for my parents to come and be with us for their first grandsons birth. I call to change the dates since birth isn't an exact science. The front desk cancels the reservation and when I go to check-in my parents they have no reservation or rooms. Manager did nothing to correct the situation just made up excuses. I called SPG and they actually cared and found my parents a room for the week. I travel a lot for business and I'll never stay at another Hyatt nor will I recommend it to any colleague or friend. Oh my where do I begin. My daughter had a pageant here which was the reason for our stay at this particular hotel. The hotel itself is beautiful to look at. The employees are super friendly. The front desk clerks are very confused about the policies I think. I was given this long explanation about how since I wasn't using a "real" credit card at check in (since I guess my visa debit/credit card isn't a real credit card), I would experience a very expensive hold on my card until my 7 business day wait was up. I questioned what my total actually was for two nights, and was given a completely different total than I should have been given as I later found out at checkout. The room I was given when placing my reservation 3 weeks prior was actually not what I received when I checked in, so they moved me to a different floor. Fine whatever. When I got to the room, it wasn't anything spectacular. There's no amenities at all with this hotel or any of the regular rooms. No microwaves in the actual rooms. No vending machines. Hard beds. The pillows sucked. I didn't even realize that was possible for a Hyatt to have pillows that sucked. No free parking ($24). You have to pay a toll to even get off the exit and then back on to the beltway so be prepared to bring extra money with you just for tolls and parking. There are several restaurants in the hotel leading out to the Town Center. However, they're all kind of expensive so we spent a lot of money on food during the two days we were there. There's no toothpaste amenities like their website says. Not that I would really use them, but to advertise that and not have it, is just wrong. The Wifi they give you is limited. You only get 20 hours of free wifi. Anything over that you will be charged for (or so it says when you log on to their "free" wifi). So if you're staying there for more than 20 hrs, make sure you keep tabs on your usage. Because yeah that's something everyone wants to worry about when they're traveling. When checking out, I explained that they had already deducted two room charges from my "not real" credit card and wanted to see if that was a portion of the hold they were telling me about when I checked in, or if I should expect more deductions. The supervisor took over since the clerk didn't understand what I was saying. She printed a receipt out and said that was my room charge for my 2 days and anything extra charged is part of the "hold" and would be reimbursed in 7 business days. Major inconvenience and irritation. Being a photographer, I've purchased several hotel rooms for sessions and have paid less money for better hotels than this one. There's a Hyatt that is about an hour from me that is SO MUCH MORE than this was. You definitely get what you pay for there. But it's like this one has a lower standard than the rest. Like its "just another hotel". Then why pick it? Why pay more to stay at this Hyatt and get less? What's the perk of staying there over any other hotel within driving/walking distance of the Town Center? In my opinion, absolutely nothing. Zero. Never again. The only reason I gave them two stars is because the employees who were running around taking people's bags up or running room service up to guests were super friendly. A few suggestions...put some vending machines in that are less money than the expensive items in your gift shop. People don't want to spend $3 on a drink when they're already spending lots of money to stay there. Put a microwave in every room. No one wants to purchase a frozen meal from your gift shop for twice as much as a grocery store, travel to the 3rd floor to heat it up, and then wait for the elevator to go back up to the 9th floor, only to have it be cold when you go to eat this very expensive dinner. Have some type of continental breakfast service. Bagels (which I'm sure in bulk aren't that expensive), fruit, coffee. Something small is better than nothing at all. Offer free parking. You're already $50 more per night than the competition in the area who I found out DOES offer free parking. Give people something to think about when booking. What makes you different than everyone around you? Right now nothing. read more

We stayed during the Weekend to Remember Marriage Conference (Hosted by FamilyLife across the country). The hotel was beautiful, very clean, and has a Panera Bread inside. It is located at the Reston Town Center so you have plenty of options for food and shopping. You have to pay for parking each day so be prepared for that. I stayed at this Hyatt recently for 2 nights and enjoyed my stay! The rooms are spacious, clean, and comfortable. I will say the double beds are a tad smaller than most other hotels, but not a huge problem. The hotel staff was extremely friendly and helpful with any questions I had. I also worked an event during my stay and the catering staff was amazing to work with. To top their amazing service, they even helped me secure an item for an off-site event which I needed at the last minute. They didn't have to help me at all, but they did without thinking twice about it. This is a great hotel to stay at and/or host an event at. I am a frequent traveler and love this location! The hotel is very nice and always exceeds my expectation. The best part is the fact the hotel is in the Reston Town Center. You can walk to several great restaraunts and shopping. The hotel staff is always friendly and caters to my needs.The Regency Club staff is excellent! They go out of there way to make sure that you feel wlecome and enjoy your stay. I always stay here when in Reston and wouldn't stay anywhere else. read more

Stayed for the night as a getaway we've stayed before. All was good until at 8am a rock band started to play outside our room. Why hotel management would allow this is beyond me. We did not want to wake up at 8am as this is why we drive 4 miles down the road to stay at a $200 night hotel. Our kids wake us up at 8am so WTF!!!! read more
