I enjoy swimming and Cascade has the best pool in the area so participation here is a matter of limited selection. My problem is the lack of policy/signs/refereeing something that keeps inconsiderate lane swimmers in line. Cascade has no posted policy or signs that direct how people should behave when there are others waiting for a lane. Since there are numerous older adults that seem to have developed blindness because they don't 'see' people waiting nor do they ask anyone. Instead, they see someone getting out of the pool and head directly to the lane that just opened up simply not caring that others are waiting. Most people seem to want to avoid conflict so nothing gets said empowering those who are already feel privileged enough to just jump in. Then there's me. I will say something and I might not be nice about it because your rudeness put you in my path. So, lane cutters if you can't turn to those waiting and ask then expect to get called out or for me to jump in 'your' lane. I simply won't stand for your rude behavior or whatever excuse you have for being like you are. As for Cascade - this on you. You have no policy, no guidance and no monitoring leaving us adults to police themselves. Fortunately, most do an exceptional job of policing themselves and have decency and courtesy. However, there are some that don't possess decency and probably have limited self-control when confronted about their behavior that could lead to an altercation between parties. If this were to happen to me you can bet that I would seeing you in court... And, while you are pondering this matter please scrub the pool! It's filthy. The walls and floor of the pool are coated in brown slime that cause slip when trying to push off. P.S. this also applies to those that are in a lane and invite someone that just shows up to join them instead of the next person in line as it should be. Friends don't get a free pass to the head of the line.

Family fun and worry/sunburnt-free!…read more These days I'm all about finding that perfect balance between work, spending time with loved ones, while enjoying activities. That's why I'm obsessed with this new find in the Southwest community! This neighborhood community center has cool activities like two indoor pools. One is designated for laps- 9 feet deep and the other includes a wading pool with slide, up to 4 ft and 6 inches at the deepest. I also love that there is a shower and lockers open for use so you can clean up before heading to the pool. The kids seem to absolutely love it - there are tons of other families with little ones. Open pool time is ~ 2-4pm, go early so you can get in. There's a capacity limit, our visit happened to be 75. If want to make it, BE THERE EARLY. Can not stress this enough. It is not the staff's fault if you can not get in. There are standards for a reason. You do not want to be cooped up in a space where it can not accommodate for more than what's expected. You also want to keep in mind that there are lifeguards to look out for everyone's safety and well being, so please be mindful of that as well! There are also other parts of the center to enjoy, such as an indoor basketball gym, rollerskating sessions, aqua aerobics, gym, and even dancing. It's the perfect blend of family-friendly fun and adult-approved relaxation. If you're looking for a place with a strong sense of community, stunning scenery, and a pool that's basically its own mini-vacation destination, then this is your spot! Totally recommend it! P.S. If you ever see me poolside with a noodle in hand, say hi! I'm learning how to swim - and it's fun to make some friends while we're at it!

The property faces Waterfront Park along SW Naito Parkway at the corner of SW Pine St. I was able to book this brief stay online on 6/26/26. After parking nearby, the perimeter and entrance was clean and staffed with upbeat doormen. I checked in around 530pm Wednesday at the front desk and then was directed to the concierge area where I received a VIP gift, helpful tips and recommendations which was greatly appreciated. I wished I had noted her name - she was a standout with her professional and personable demeanor. I checked out by 845am Friday and it was straightforward. I stayed at a studio unit while reacquainting myself with Portland. After WorldMark/Wyndham stays at Depoe Bay, OR in 2024 and Long Beach, WA in 2025, this was a welcomed improvement. The main lobby was clean with pleasant indoor decor and seating. There's also a mini market, exercise, and laundry facilities on the main level. I appreciated the information kiosk area where one can pick up maps, activity, and destination flyers. Overall a well maintained property from perimeter, entrance, lobby, elevators, and the room I stayed in. Despite that I was within proximity of the elevator, my stay was safe and comfortable. Quiet, respectful guests above, below, and adjacent sides. Good sound proofing with faint traffic noise (just some random fireworks and an early AM train) and light blocking blinds. My studio room had a well appointed bathroom (great shower!), streamlined but well stocked kitchenette, nice modern layout with the furniture, lighting, AC, and flat screen (great viewing of a FIFA World Cup match). I appreciated that the Murphy bed was already pulled down, couch cushions set aside. However, the bed itself was not comfortable. I later found out upon checkout, that a board could have been provided to add more support. Next year, all rooms with this set up will be replaced with new mattresses. There's also limited and oddly placed outlets. Pro tip: there is no onsite parking. Valet parking is $50/day. I ended up using the AirGarage at 95 SW Pine St, which is literally around the corner and across the street from WorldMark PDX. One can book online via airgarage.com or use the QR code or pay station at the corner. I paid $19.50/day with a 65 cents payment processing fee. The night before checkout, I moved my car before midnight and found a street parking spot adjacent to WorldMark PDX. No payment required overnight. I had downloaded the Parking Kitty app and screenshot the specific parking area number. Starting at 8am, parking payment is required. Checkout from WorldMark is 11am. There are various sights, retail businesses, and cafes/bars/restaurants nearby. Folks get around on foot, roller blade/skates, bike, bus, and streetcar, light rail, and car. I did not see much in the way of rentable lime bikes or scooters, or uber lifts. Just exercise common sense and be aware of your surroundings when out and about. Decent location for an urban getaway.

My son is 4 and is on the spectrum- finding a place he is comfortable at and well cared for has not been easy. We are always greeted by every single person who works there and the staff at the kids club is so incredibly welcoming and you can tell they really care about the kids. My son asks to go to the gym every single day - he has made friends, he is talking more, he is becoming much more independent and it is because of Villa Sports. Stacey has went out of her way to give me updates on my son and I feel like this place is so lucky to have her, and so is every kid that goes here. If I could list every kids club staff member I would because I truly love all of them. If you have kids, this place is for you! No question about it. On top of that, this place is clean, has so many machine opens, tons of free weights, a great pool and just wow - I will never go anywhere else and honestly neither should you! Before posting this review, I have tried contacting the owner several times about child safety -- with no response. Here are a couple of child safety issues I have observed: -- Instance #1: About two months ago on a week night, a one and a half year old ran out from the kids center. And due to short staffing, it wasn't noticed by staff members. Luckily, I stopped the child from running out to the gym floor. When I brought this to the director's attention, (Cindy), she said that it never happened because the cameras didn't see it happen. Scoffing and rolling her eyes. She then got back on her tablet, and ignored me. --Instance #2: The child care was short staffed. When this happens, they put the older kids with the infants/toddlers. On a few of those instances, other parents and I, have seen the older kids hurt the smaller children (violently at times). After witnessing this, I tried to find the Director and she was no where to be found. She was on "Break". -- Instance #3: Last night (4/7/26) at roughly 5:15 pm. There was one staff member to probably 20 kids. I tried to talk to the director. Once again, she rudely rolled her eyes at me. Then her and the front desk girl started laughing and mocking me. And said within earshot, "What's her f**** problem". Hopefully after posting this review the, child safety issues are addressed. And the employee culture as well. ***Review update: The owner finally contacted me, and he said all the right things. I will update the review further if changes regarding the safety issues and toxic employee culture are truly addressed. ***
