The first time happened a year ago, and then 6 month after, and then 3 months after. Every time, I had a hard time getting a plumber to come and look at the problem. Each time, we had to go to home depot myself/themselves to get an Snake (tool to unclog the pipe), and pay $300-$700 for them to open the pipes. It was a huge disaster. This time, I am very happy that I have called Discount Plumbing. There are several things RIGHT about these guys: 1. They use an Automated (Artificial Intelligence) receptionist that schedules an appointment over the phone. So we got an appointment on Sunday quickly 2. They sent a technician in 2-3 hours after I called them, and the tecnician actually came during the promised window 3. The technician has all the tools needed for the job. He had Snake, Camera and whatever he needed (I think he has $100K+ worth of equipments in his van) 4. Kevin, the plumber, fixed the problem in 1 hour while the previous plumbers would waste 7+ hours to do this. 5. Even though the technician was alone, he was very very competent, and better than teams of plumbers that I have hired in the past 6. Before start doing the job, he clearly mentioned the cost of the job UPDATE originally I have reviewed them as 5 stars. Unfortunately their work broke in 5 days, and when I called them to "please come back and take a look", they said they will come at 12pm. I was waiting till 6pm, and then they called to reschedule for another day. That has left me with a clogged line for the whole day. I am updating their review from 5 stars to one star.

He recommended me installing a clean out and clearing the roots which would require replacing part of the damaged piping. He did not charge for the unsuccessful clear out and came the next morning to fix the issue. Him and his crew spent the day replacing the damaged pipe and installing a clean out in front for future use if it were to back up again. Before they had to go onto the roof to clear it out now it's in the front of my house and also gives me the opportunity to clear it out myself now. They did a awesome job and highly recommend.

About 20 minutes after I booked the appointment, the plumber himself called me and asked if he could come by in 30 minutes - a full 1.5 hours ahead of schedule! I agreed, met him at the place, and he assessed the situation quickly and professionally. A few days ago I noticed that on one of our faucets, if I closed the hot water side too fast there was a little bit of a rattle under the house. I thought I could handle it myself after asking Perplexity what it could be and installed a water arrestor. That didn't help so I thought, maybe it could be the strapping. I reached out to Handy Plumbing Man on a Saturday and they were quick to respond that they could have someone there on Monday. Monday morning came and their technician, Miguel, went down and found that one of the pipes they had worked on wasn't totally secured. No problem, mistakes happen. He said he'd call the office to get technicians over to check the strapping on the work below. I had to go into work but did get a message from them later on that day to see if they could get someone over the same day (Monday) to fix it. This is more on me that I had already gone into work, but they said they could do tomorrow morning at 8am. The guys, Carlos and Baltazar, came bright and early, went under the house and secured the pipe and then some. Awesome company!

Our ducts were damaged by a skunk who had been living under the house several years back. Ron crawled through the entire area and came out with pictures and videos. He explained what needed to be replaced and repaired and an estimate of how long it would take. He gave me a quote on the spot and forwarded me all the videos and pictures. I thought the quote was reasonable and scheduled him to come back the following week. He and one of his guys arrived on time (9am) and completed the work by 11:15a. He replaced 2 duct runs and repaired a third. He hauled away all the damaged ducts and cleaned up the area when he left. All in all, everything went smoothly. Due to age and likely significant sediment, it could stir it up enough to clog up the lines. He didn't think it'd be worth it for me and recommended to save my money for replacing the water heater, which would likely be soon. He's honest and gives a good opinion and I really appreciate that! Will call him when it breaks!
