The day of the party comes and we go to the store to pick up the cake right before the party and were appalled to see that instead of a pink, unicorn themed cake with "happy birthday" written on it, we received instead a plain white cake, no decorations. After bringing this up and the staff looking into it, it turns out that the decorator just completely botched our order.It was too late for us to cancel the order and get a cake anywhere else, so the staff member just hurriedly scrawled a happy birthday on the cake, but it just looked sloppy and somehow made the cake look even more sad. When she saw the cake, my daughter asked where her pink unicorn cake was. The guests at our party were too nice to say anything but I could see the look of surprise at such a basic cake. To say the least, I was pissed. Luckily, the decorator got at least the requested flavors of our cake correct and the cake itself tasted fine. After the party, I contacted the store and had to go back and forth with a couple of the staff members before they finally contacted the manager who gave me a call and asked me to explain the situation over again. At the end of the day, she refunded me for 50% of what I paid. Although this didn't take away from the disappointing experience we had, it was better than nothing. While this place is still fine for an impromptu sweet treat while at the mall, I won't be bringing my business back here for any custom cake orders.

That's what they do at the Peet's located at Serramonte Ctr., they make you feel like a close friend or even family. From the workers I've known there for the past year to even the newer people being trained by their amazing manager Blanca and her team, every day I stop by feels like a positive energy boost! Not only is the coffee great but more so, the welcoming, positive feeling I get there lasts me all day. I was immediately greeted by a very enthusiastic Francesaska who took my order promptly which includes a 1lb bag of whole beans 1/2 pound Arabian Mocha Java and 1/2 Cafe Domingo and a fruit scone from my wife in the morning. Francesaska took my order and quickly went to fill my order after offering Peets complementary cup of coffee when buying beans. She stayed focus on my order while two other team members took orders for other customers or prepared coffees drinks. Impressive operations and friendly team. I did notice a full house of customers filled every seat inside and out. Many had been "camped out" for hours accordingly to a fellow customer stated, which says alot about how people enjoyed a comfortable setting. I got my coffee beans, free coffee and scone as I went on my!
