That never happened. After a couple of people left, I moved closer to the front of the bar near the entrance. A few more minutes passed before the bartender finally approached me. I had already grabbed my own menu from behind the bar area by that point. When I ordered, he asked if the food was "to go," which honestly made me feel like my sitting there during the game was more of an inconvenience than business. I ordered food and a drink. By the time my food came out, my drink was already about three-quarters gone, which would have been the perfect opportunity to check back in or offer another round. The food runner brought out my meal, but the bartender never checked on me once. I would have gladly ordered additional drinks, but I was never asked. Basic hospitality and bar service 101: check on your guests and keep the interaction going. I ate my food without so much as another drink to help wash it down. I closed out and left; there wasn't even a "thanks for coming in" or "have a good night." I ended up going elsewhere afterward to watch the 4th quarter, having a few more drinks, and receiving significantly better service. As someone who used to bartend, this experience was frustrating because good bar service is not complicated.
