    Falafel gyro

The falafel gyro was delicious! They make the falafel fresh when ordered so it was super moist. I added tzatziki and hummus. Celiac husband enjoyed the chicken platter with no issues! Service was quick and friendly. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Seating was as expected for a strip mall eatery.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

I'd give this place 10 stars if I could. Great food, friendly service and overall just a fantastic place to come and eat. Wish they had a location on the east side but it's with the drive for quality food. Thank you for a great meal and friendly service. We will be back again.

    Trio Platter

Ate here for the first time tonight and decided to go with the whole shebang, the trio platter. The order came with a salad, yellow rice, and kebab of each: chicken, lamb, and kafta (beef/minced'ish). The salad was fresh, the rice was ok, and the kebabs were great! My son has never been a huge fan of lamb, but I did give him a couple pieces to try and he said a couple times in the way home how it was so good and so tender. The seasoning in the meat seemed a little lighter than I've had from other places, but the meat quality seemed a lot better and when I was finished with my meal, I didn't feel so bogged down and I def wasn't having any indigestion and burping up spices all night. Lol The cost is probably a little higher than other gyro places I've frequented, although, I Heart Gyro is a lot cleaner and nothing I touched was sticky or stained. Service was fast and friendly to top it all off. Will be back the next time I get the craving for this style of food.

Came to I Heart Gyro for a late lunch and love it! The service was exceptional and efficient. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There is plenty of room for large groups and they are welcomed.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The food was phenomenal! All that was had was very tasty and ample. Kudos to all! We will be back! Enjoy! :)

Sour cherry "specialty drink" (non alcoholic)

I stopped in here for lunch. I got a lamb (which also contained beef) gyro with spicy garlic sauce and a "specialty" beverage, which was sparkling water with a syrup. I got sour cherry. Both the gyro and drink was tasty. They also have plates with combos that looked good but I didn't want to spend that much for lunch ($18-25.00). My gyro was big enough that I took the last 1/4 home for later. This is a walk up & order at the counter place and there isn't much ambiance. The prices don't fit with the ambiance. I paid $18 for my gyro & drink & tip for lunch. Maybe I'm the only one that thinks that is a little high? For that and the higher priced menu items I would expect a nicer atmosphere, I guess. While I was there several grub hub-type drivers picked up food.

We were able to try a wide variety of dishes, and every single one was exceptional. I have dietary restrictions (no onions or garlic), and the kitchen and staff were incredibly accommodating. They prepared separate versions of several dishes for me without hesitation, and I never felt like I was getting a lesser experience. It's rare to find a restaurant that can accommodate food sensitivities so thoughtfully while still delivering incredible flavor. The food was absolutely delicious from start to finish, and the service was impeccable. The staff was warm, attentive, and made our birthday celebration feel special without ever being overbearing. Everyone in our group left talking about how amazing the food was. We couldn't have asked for a better meal or a better overall experience. Mediterranean Exploration Company has definitely earned a spot on our list of favorite Portland restaurants, and we can't wait to come back.

We weren't too hungry and ordered 3 dishes to share - the hamachi crudo, baked feta with Blackberries, and braised Greek greens. The service was pretty fast, we received our food within 15 mins. The hamachi crudo was tasty with fresh fish that balanced well with the yummy smoked eggplant, tamarind soy, black harissa mayo, and crispy ginger. The baked feta was the heartiest dish, it came out with piping hot pitas to dip into the creamy savory/sweet feta and blackberries. The braised Greek greens felt like the most basic dish out of the 3, collard greens cooked with a lemon/olive oil finish, which tasted as described but not exciting enough to order again. Just as the name implies, this restaurant is a nice way to try Mediterranean dishes for those who don't eat it often. Admittedly, the cuisine isn't in our top favorites, but all the dishes were executed well, true to their description, and made for some fun bites.

I love Mediterranean food in general and was looking forward to seeing what this restaurant had offer. On entry the first thing that I noticed is that the room, Reedley, really wanted to be a nightclub! The whole vibe with the floor and the way the lighting looks... And then I looked over and saw a giant DJ production rack behind the bar and additional club lights... Yeah. It's a restaurant by day, and I'm sure that people dance there. Added to the vibe! I just wanna take a moment to acknowledge that the menu is amazingly comprehensive. This is not some random gyro place. There are things here that I frankly never seen anywhere in the Portland Metro area. Can't wait to go back many times and sample all of it. My companion got the gyro platter and I got the lamb lula kabab. They were both accompanied by a couple of sauces/chutney's. that were delicious addition. We closed out the meal sharing a slice of their cake, which was incredibly delicious as well. The meal was excellent, but the prospects of all the things that I didn't eat, haunt me. I will definitely be returning. Highly recommended!

Rice was some of the best we have had. The meats were spiced perfectly. The side salad was really nice take of a Greek salad, a tad bit over dressed but still a ticket to flavor town. The lamb chops had great flavor though I wish they would have been cooked medium rare and then they would have been sensational. The chicken was cooked perfectly, moist and tender. The lamb was the winner of the show for sure. We be back for sure.

We've always talked about trying it, so it felt like the perfect birthday plan. The owner, Dennis, was incredibly kind--so genuine, grateful, and full of faith. I ordered the chicken Gyro and asked for cucumbers. Unfortunately, the chicken was not very tasty. I was hoping for charbroiled chunks of chicken breast, like "I Heart Gyro" does. Instead it was thin strips of seasoned chicken that were probably thawed out from the freezer. The Tzatziki sauce was very good though! Because I asked for extra sauce, it made the Iceberg lettuce soggy, as well as the thin slices of onions. By the time I picked off all the soggy pieces of Iceberg lettuce and thin slices of onions, I was left with just two slices of tomatoes and two slices of cucumber! Definitely not worth paying the extra dollar for two slices of cucumber! I paid almost $15 for this Gyro that lacked crisp veggies and they were stingy with the Feta cheese! Only a few crumbles. I feel very disappointed, because I read wonderful reviews about this place. Too bad, so sad! P.S.: If you want a delicious Chicken Gyro with marinated and grilled chunks of chicken breast, "I Heart Gyro" can't be beat!
