However, the resort pricing overall food value was disappointing. At check-in guest are giving a discount card for 10% of Off at the Market and certain resort locations, which is appreciated. However, if you forget the card in your room while heading to the pool or Beach, you were simply out of luck since purchases can be charged directly to the room, it seems like the discount should automatically apply to the guest account instead of requiring a physical card. The 10% discount definitely helps because Hawaii is already expensive but the price is at the market and eateries felt excessive. For example we had 6 drinks and two orders of fish and chips at Long boards and the bill was $171. Unfortunately food felt like it mediocre pub food, which made the cost even harder to justify. Overall, we love the beauty of Ko Olina and the warmth of the people, but the resort pricing felt comparable to Disney without the food quality or value to match.

I understand the idea of trying to keep an "old Hawaii" nostalgic vibe, which can be charming when done right, but this is not that. In 2026, the property feels completely tore up from the floor up. If anything, it should be labeled the "first motel in Waikiki," because at least then it would be #1 in some category. Our experience was not only unpleasant but felt unsanitary and borderline unacceptable. We were only there for about 6 hours before we decided to leave and go stay at a Marriott instead. We had booked two nights through a third-party site. When we arrived, we were given a room on a higher floor, only to find out the elevator was not working. There didn't seem to be any attempt to fix it, so we had to keep going up and down the stairs with our belongings. About four hours into the stay, the bathtub started clogging and then began spitting dirty water back out into the tub. The water contained debris and had a foul odor that made the bathroom nearly impossible to use. It clearly seemed like a health hazard. We went to the front desk and asked the staff member (R.) for help. Her response was basically that no one would be able to fix it until the morning. We then asked if we could move to another room, and she told us she would have to wait and see if someone canceled. After waiting and hearing nothing back, we actually went out and bought our own Drano because the property seemed unwilling to address the issue with any urgency. At that point, due to the condition of the bathroom and the lack of assistance, we decided we just wanted to leave if they weren't going to move us or fix the problem. You would think they would be happy to refund the stay so we could go somewhere else, but that didn't happen. Because we booked through a third-party site, the front desk refused to approve a refund. The booking company even called the property directly to request a refund since we had only been there a few hours, and it was still denied. During the back-and-forth between the booking company, the hotel, and us, the staff member even told them that she had offered us another room, which was not true. Her final "solution" was that we could keep our reservation in the unsanitary room, but she would give us a key to another room that had a working shower. However, we were not allowed to stay in that room because it was booked. So the idea was that we would go use the shower there, then come back downstairs, return the key, and go back to our original room. When I asked what we were supposed to do if we needed to use the bathroom later that night, she said we would have to come down to the front desk again, get the key, use the bathroom, and then return it afterward. I have mental disabilities, so that arrangement simply wouldn't work for me. I even asked her directly if that sounded normal, and she replied that they do it for other guests. At that point, we went upstairs, packed our things, and left. We still didn't know if we would ever get a refund, and meanwhile the room was likely going to be given to another guest while we were dealing with all of this. It was honestly outrageous and made no sense. We ended up going straight to a Marriott, where we enjoyed the rest of our getaway without any issues

I can see why that was the only room available for 3 beds and was pretty cheap if 6 people were sleeping in it. There's a literal crack down the wall next to the sliding doors (that are nearly impossible to open) and you can hear everything because the main road is right here unfortunately, and the quality is worse than my new one I switched too. 4. Beds are good and house keepers give good attention to detail for you. 5. I ruptured my ear and was suppose to leave about 4-5 days ago now and I switched hotels cause I have to stay longer according to doctor.. I'm actually paying less and the place is way more passionate of your stay especially the people. Would stay here again if needed but I can find more updated rooms for the same price.

The master suite was super luxe with en suite bathroom (soaker tub was used almost every night). Check in was a breeze with the super wonderful Angel and her partner. They checked up on us ever so often. Very nice people (understatement). Checkout services checked my flight info and accommodated us in very courteous way. The biggest issue was the lack of communication and transparency. Decisions were made without consulting us, and when we asked questions, the responses always seemed to prioritize Ola's internal agenda rather than what was best for our villa. We also started noticing a steady increase in fees. What used to be a simple structure with a few charges turned into a long list--transaction fees, credit card fees, even fees just to speak to someone live. It felt excessive and, at times, questionable. The breaking point was how they handled our belongings when we decided to leave. We requested our original linens back, but they had removed tags to make everything "community linens." When we finally received items, they didn't match, some were clearly older than what we originally had, and others still had tags from different units. It was disorganized and unacceptable. To make matters worse, we were promised replacements or compensation, but in the end, we were given poor-quality linens that didn't come close to what we had before. Communication during this process was frustrating--calls and concerns were often ignored or brushed off. There are good people working there, but overall, the leadership and management practices made it impossible for us to trust the company. The lack of respect and common courtesy for the people who employ them--and who they claim to serve--is appalling. Based on our experience, I would not return. I have the emails and receipts if they wanted to dispute my claims.
