It was our first visit to I Love Pho in Factoria. It was our first time eating pho (fuh) albeit our son had done both. The place was comfortable well lit with an easy to understand menu and had an attentive pleasant staff. Pho is a delicious Vietnamese noodle soup served with several different meats seafood noodles and yummy other ingredients. Known for their Pho however they offered rice dishes chow mein meat and seafood plates salad as well as appetizers and beer. We started with their potsticker appetizer while our pho was being prepared. My wife and son awaited their eye round and brisket beef broth pho and I opted for their chicken broth pho. My son also ordered a banh mi Vietnamese sandwich for a later snack. Our bowls quickly arrived along with three Sapporo beers that made great accompaniment. We were also served a condiment plate of fresh basil sprouts jalapeños and lime to add as wanted. There were also pepper sauce and other add ons on the table. The sign says I Love Pho. We get it. We loved ours! Rich smooth full of rice noodles and other goodies with great flavor and quiet filling (I had the small). I eat a ton of pho and I have my standards. I went here today and the pho was really good. The broth is perfect. Not too crazy and not too mellow if you know what I mean. It was just right. We had the I Love Pho (Pho A) with briskets, meatball, rare beef, tendon and supposedly more stuffs but kinda disappointed at how little meat it has. The Beef Saigon Noodles are okay. Have been here couple of times and it's a decent place. First time I ordered chicken pho and have never eaten a bad tasting chicken before. Chicken was like a wood bark so bland and chewy . Never again I am ordering pho here as I don't eat beef and pork . Rest of the time I ordered different entrees and ever single time I loved it. I have taken garlic shrimp/ chicken, chicken chow mein/coconut rice so far and everything tasted amazing. Would give this place a 3.5. The inside is really spacious and has tables for large parties too. The service is relatively quick, but could improve in hospitality. They gave us our check maybe 2 minutes after we got the food, so I guess they were trying to be extra efficient or something haha. They have other items like vermicelli, stir fry, etc. My friend and I both opted for the pho. They have beef, chicken, and vegetarian broth options, so a plus for vegetarians. I got the small chicken pho in chicken broth and my friend got the large "I love pho", which is beef broth pho with an assortment of meat cuts. The small size portion-wise was more than enough for me. Surprisingly, the large bowl didn't seem that much bigger than the small. The broth was flavorful, but the chicken was overcooked and tough, and didn't have much flavor. I definitely had to eat the chicken with some hoisin sauce on top. Nansay suggested 'I Love Pho' since it is literally walking distance from our apartment....buuuut of course we would simply drive to obtain our Vietnamese sandwiches faster I got the "Dac-Biet" which is their Vietnamese ham sandwich, and Phily got their Marinated Beef Sandwich. RATING: Okay at best, but not great. PRICE WORTHY? Dac-Biet (Vietnamese ham) sandwich was $4.00. The Marinated Beef was $5.00 (it's the only sandwich priced a dollar higher than the others). We would say this is the average price for a vietnamese sandwich. BEST QUALITIES OF SANDWICH: My Vietnamese ham sandwich had a good amount of cured pork on it. The pate was smooth and velvety. Phily's marinated beef was quite delicious. Tender, and had a tinge of sweetness to the meat. The sandwich size was also pretty perfect to make you full enough, but not overly full. "It's good pho you." Really, I Love Pho? Really? OK, OK. It's not their fault and they're not alone. Pho puns abound in the world around us today. But, man, they're not fun. But the bulk of the menu is banh mi, pho, and vermicelli bowls, with helpful photos laminated and pinned to the wall. It's kind of a mix of upscaled and homey that way--nice furniture and flat screens, nice dining room, but, then, they, look...laminates on the wall, too. The service is fast and efficient; they're always keeping an eye on every table and moving from here to there quickly to make sure things are being taken care of. The food comes out and it's fine. The usual tea pot with the usual tea bag. The pho is a little hazy, not quite cloudy. Nice savory aroma, but fairly subdued. Fades pretty quickly. All the ingredients were in awesome shape, fresh and flavorful, but overall the recipe lacked depth and complexity in flavor (obviously primarily the broth). Still, all peppered up with red, green, and black peppers working together in harmony, it made for a tasty meal. I've been here numerous times and the pho is average but the last time I went with my bf the pho was cold and made him sick so he gave it a bad review. One of the employees messaged him and told us to come back and he would give us a free bowl on the house. We went here on a Thursday during lunch hour. I'm pretty suprised it was crouded, but a short wait. The interior is nice, and the food was excellent. We only ordered pho, and everything came out pretty quickly based on the number of people there. The price was $7.00 for a small bowl of pho, and $8.15 for a large bowl of pho. The only reason I gave it a 4 instead of 5, because of the higher price of pho compared to other restaurants. We had the pho called: ILOVEPHO and paid extra because it had few ingredients but nothing special just meat, tripe and tendon. The behemoth serving size + the freshly slaughtered/chopped quality make I Love Pho's dishes a true DEAL. Our table had the Pho Tai, Pho Ga, Gyoza & Beef Salad. The broth was excellent, beef attractively rare, Gyoza golden bubbly, chicken cooked just right, and the beef salad made me gasp with it's girth and variable toppings...especially the grilled shallots + garlic. Being one of only two places to get pho, I Love Pho has been a staple in the Factoria area for years. The interior is modern and clean and almost always busy. We came in around 1:30 on a Sunday, and every table was full. The weight is never long, however, because the service is so quick and efficient, and with the weather getting colder, it feels so good to quickly scarf down the warm broth. There isn't much to say about this place. It's just normal pho. The portions are a bit small for the price -- $9 for a small, which might be the smallest small bowl I've seen at a pho place. There just isn't anything that makes this place stand out, other than being the only place. If you're craving pho, there really isn't any other option if you want to stay near Factoria. The service is quick, but not overly friendly. You probably won't be blown away, but you won't be disappointed either. read more
