This review is based on a phone call I placed to place an order to go. I've also been into the restaurant and the experience was great. So back to the phone call - I called around 5:45pm to place an order of some great Crispy Chicken Wings that they have there. A woman answered the phone and I asked her if I could place an order. She said yes but that she was busy and she had 5 minutes. I asked how many wings come in an order. She replied, "Eight...no six. Hurry up, Hurry up, I have to go". I was obviously a burden so I told her never mind and I hung up. Just don't call to place an order...go into the restaurant. They're nicer when you do. read more

Always such a good experience when eating here! I've come multiple times with different members of my family and every time it's been great. Today I went w/ my sister and our server gave us complimentary jello desserts. How nice!! For my entree I ordered vermicelli with chicken, so good and such good portions. If you notice something is not on the menu or want to modify a dish, ask, they will make sure you get exactly what you want. Not a half bad Pho place. I admit I was recommended this place by a friend. I must say I have had better Pho, and it is a little bit of a drive from where I live, but if I'm in the area I would definitely go there again. Third time here for lunch and for the third time when I order the Vietnamese Sandwich the response is "...we actually don't have that. The shipment doesn't come in until after lunch. As a community director for a local apartment building, I try to get out in the neighborhood and meet all the local businesses as much as possible. I frequently eat lunch here as I Love Pho has become a favorite! Their vegetarian pho is incredibly delicious and they have the best Thai Iced Tea in town. Just went there for lunch today. It's a pho restaurant, so service was not important. BUT, for a pho restaurant, the Pho better be up to par. The broth just tastes like beef soup, none of the pho flavor. I actually only ate half of my bowl. Negative- It was noon already and i Had wanted Bun Bo Hue, but was told the broth wasn't ready. Also, I usually don't like it when I get asked multiple times whether I was finished with my bowl, just so they can start cleaning up. Just because i put my chopsticks down doesn't exactly mean I'm done. They should just wait til we leave before start cleaning. Gives me a sense that they telling me its time to pay up and leave. (No comment on the sad looking fish tank near the register. ) Pro- Clean and good atmosphere. Nothing special, but at least it was decent. There are a bunch of Pho places in the area but most aren't really that good. When my usual place was closed yesterday I decided to try this place. The place is clean, the service was good and despite it being busy the food came out fast and fresh. The only thing I didn't care for is that they only give you one cup of hot tea. read more

I was really disappointed today. A group of 6 of us decided to go for Pho because one of the guys wanted to do the challenge. When we got there the waiter was really polite and started our order. Then when the rest of the party arrived they had asked for a split check and the lady rolled her eyes. When my friend ordered the large bowl she looked at him and said he couldn't eat all that in a rude sarcastic way, another person asked what was in one of the soups and she rolled her eyes and said look at the picture. The service is superb, and the price is more than reasonable. The service is fast and friendly. I enjoyed the environment that is not big but comfortable. Felling relaxed here. I modified the menu and substitute squid to Tofu, and they are pleasant made the changes I required. The flavor of broth is excellent and tasty. I got the Vietnamese summer rolls that is very fresh. I am Chinese and I have been to real authentic Vietnamese restaurants before, but this one by far is the best I have tried in Ventura. Highly recommended. read more

Sooo...me and my gf went here on a Sunday hoping to try this new Pho Spot! I really enjoy Pho myself and have had it numerous times. As soon as we walked in, we were not greeted and it took a while for them too seat us. (IT WAS NOT BUSY, PLENTY OF TABLES OPEN) then it took a while for us too actually get menus from the waiter and for him to come back and take our order. We ordered 2 drinks, Fried Rice, Wantons, and Rice Noodles with Pork. The good part is the food was pretty good. The bad part is we never got our drinks! :( And after they gave us our food they never checked on us again! They were slow and unorganized and kept forgetting we were there! We actually never saw our waiter again so we had to ask a different waiter for our check and drinks! Sadly I don't think I will be going here again... read more

I feel terrible since it is a new business and the staff is really nice and fast that's about it. The broth is nothing special, my soup had wontons shrimp and tripe, there was only two of each in there also not enough noodles! Later that night I got really sick. So I won't be going back. I'm giving 3 stars because, the food portions are nice but the quality was just not there. I ordered take out from here because I love vermicelli, but to my surprise this was not on point... I was very disappointed in the flavor.... it did not have the taste i was expecting. First I have to say I have been a loyal Customer of this place in until today. I always got the same plate which consists of rice, chicken , 1 egg and shrimp. I know exactly how much it costs! So today I went in and when I got home upon checking my card statement I noticed they over charged me two dollars. I called them to ask why I was very nice and respectful, I stead the guy that answered the phone said you were charged more because you got three items chicken, shrimp and egg. I said that makes no sense that is what I always get and never pay this much. I asked to speak to a supervisor or the owner. After being put on hold Jerry (the owner) answered the phone was very rude and instead of explaining he told me with an attitude to come back to the restaurant so he could give me two dollars back. I was not about to drive across town for two dollars . That was not the point! He didn't even offered an apology. In my opinion if you want a tip ask for it don't falsify my signature and put that I'm giving you a tip. The lesson here is honesty!! Also the way they handle credit cards it's quite sketchy. Also sometimes they can be quite rude that's why I would always order to go. It sucks because the food is good. Don't forget the ones doing you the favor are the customers!! For a brand new place they are doing pretty good. The food was great and so was the service. Since I'm a manager at a retail location I can understand if they get busy or don't know the right staffing situation because they are new but I didn't see any of that here. First Star would be the location. It's close to home so I like that. There was enough parking which is always good. I got the seafood noodle soup, a bit disappointed that they mixed the noodles with egg noodle and rice noodle. The seafood also only included, shrimp, and fish balls. No wontons or imitation crab. The paper for the spring was also hard. I'm willing to give it another try once the business becomes more established. Next time I'll try a regular meatball noodle. read more

I like the food. I would go back and try more. I think the price of their food is about the same except their servings are super small compared to other Vietnamese restaurants. So really we are getting less for the money. One of the things we ordered was a porkchop meal. It only had one porkchop whereas I expected 2 from what I am used to. The combination fried rice is good but again either change their to go containers or add more fried rice in there. It is a new restaurant and they have things to work out. But I do hope they can work it out to stay in that place because no business seems to do well in that particular area. *UPDATE After going back here for three to go orders and dining in once, I really thought I was going to update to another star higher but from my experience last time it really was a bit upsetting. I ordered the pork chop plate I expected 2 pork chops. The first time I ordered it had one and different color and taste (it was more of a red sauce or something). The second time i ordered it had 2 pork chops and it was more of a neutral color how any cooked meat would look and it tasted better. Well recently It was back to 1 pork chop and it didn't taste good. Therefore I think I will stick to the other vietnamese restaurants. This place is mostly good food and they are super nice and attentive to customers but the portion size and price and probably packaging to go items is a minus.
