The owner Andy is really nice and the servers are also! They are working out some kinks right now so I get that they're a little slow sometimes. Working in the service industry makes you a lot more understanding of certain things. I think some people were being a little harsh in their reviews. Anyways, the food here is really good! I've had the rice dishes and the pho here. I've been by a few times on my lunch breaks and haven't been disappointed yet. The pho ap chao, rice and bbq, and pho are all good bets. The pho could use a little more flavor. I think they should have their spoons and chopsticks on the table, it would be more convenient for them so they don't have to go back and forth so many times. I do think it's a little weird that there's an up charge if you want lettuce with your egg rolls but no big deal. Also, like many other Vietnamese restaurants, you have to go to the register to pay. The service here is really good, not like other Vietnamese restaurants. The biggest thing we're picky on is getting our drinks refilled, and the guys were always on top of that. This place is conveniently around the corner from my boyfriends house and waking distance from OC and CIHS, so a gold star for that. The decor is so brand new and clean and we were seated right away. They don't have milk teas and the Thai tea I bought was a little expensive but still good. The pho was really good, too! The broth was so flavorful, that I actually finished all of it. We also had the tofu spring rolls and the peanut sauce was amaaaaaaazing. We had one server who was very nice and helpful, and another who wasn't much help or very cheerful. Checked this place out since it's close to where I get my nails done... I had the pho with rare and well done beef. The beef itself was tender; however, the broth was cold and which may have been the reason it was somewhat flavorless. Even with the condiments on the table I couldn't get it to taste like anything reminiscent of pho broth. I also ordered the egg rolls with lettuce, but it only came with three pieces of lettuce. I'm used to getting it with other vegetables so I'm not sure what happened with that. I also ordered the fried shrimp. I liked that it wasn't so heavily battered. The spring rolls were large with actual peanut sauce. I wanted to try other things on the menu but they weren't readily available at this time. Prices at this restaurant are competitive with similar pho restaurants around. I'll try this place out a few more times after they get their wheels turning.. But in the meantime I'll stick to my regular pho restaurants in town. read more

If you love Pho you won't love this. My girlfriend and I wanted to check out this new spot but were both disappointed a bit by the quality. Pho wasn't terrible but it wasn't good either. We were the only other couple in the restaurant and still had to wait a little bit on service. Definitely friendly, just took a little longer than expected and had to ask for the sides. On the plus side they are open on Monday but there are better options in Oxnard and Ventura County. They are new, still learning and hopefully they will get better. read more

The food was okay. Egg rolls tasted good but they weren't the best we've tried. I ordered the rare steak and flank pho which tasted good but it left an oily feeling on my lips and there wasn't that much meat compared to other pho places. Very clean and the service is very good for a Vietnamese restaurant.. They have a few restaurants open in Ventura County and all are doing well.. I am now eating at the Annex location in the Collection Plaza in Riverpark, Oxnard because it's closer to my house.. I enjoy the all the traditional decoration here.. Plus Annex is such a great place with a variety of restaurants and vendors.. I find the food is about the same as the other locations.. Very good with amazing flavors.. We come here every week! It's walking distance to our house. Everyone is friendly. The owner always stop at our table to say "hello". I always get the Seafood Pho with Egg noodles and my husband always gets the Rare Steak Pho. Once in a while, I would get my soup lukewarm and my husband would get his soup hot. The food is good, but when I ordered the #3 the last time I was there, I came home to open my meal up to a peanut butter dip that was OLD! How could I tell? Fresh peanut butter dip for their shrimp and pork spring rolls have a thick texture to it and looks fairly brown, not black! I tossed the dip. On top of that, I just ate their today since it was raining and was craving some Pho Dac Biet, which is their #13 menu item. Meal was good, but the workers glance at you and giggle, making you feel uncomfortable. Then after receiving change for my bill and tipped the waiter, one of the employees behind the counter said something in Vietnamese and him and a female employee started laughing. Nice spot that's closer to home. The staff is friendly and courteous. The pho is tasty and the serving size is decent. If you like spicy (on a scale of 1-10 an 8.5) they have a sriracha paste at the table that is excellent. I have been here a couple of times now and my only gripe is that the temp of my soup is not as hot as I would like it to be. I don't need it boiling hot, but pretty close to it is good. Literally the worst pho in Oxnard. Service was ok, but my food was old. The BBQ pork you could tell had been frozen for a while and was old and tasted sour. I normally go to pho Saigon but since it was closed on Monday, I decided to try this place out. BIG disappointment. I ended up at home with what I thought I had ordered charboiled chicken but instead ended up with a big chunk of pork fat. Not to mentioned the flavor was awful. So a new pho place opened up in Oxnard and we had to come check it out. We have our 2 usual spots and we always welcome any new good joints. So my husband got #17 the beef broth with rare steak well done flank and tendon the large size is $7.50. It could have been a bit warmer but it wasn't cold. I got #48 which is charbroiled pork and charbroiled pork. The rice was yellow in color but was good the meat portion was a bit small but ok I guess. This place is new and I think they could still develop flavors a bit more but we will definitely be back to see how they improve over time. Oh yea we got free sodas since they just opened. I come here at least 5x a month if not more, I always order the tofu and veggie pho. This time was no different. The broth taste was very weird, I know for sure it wasn't veggie broth. I can tell when it's beef broth as well and it wasn't it. There was a huge piece of carrot in my soul and as I was about to chew it, I noticed this nasty taste, well it was already bad! I tried to dress it up with lemon, soy sauce and chili sauce but it didn't work out. I always hoped I would never find anything wrong with this place because I actually love it but today was a huge disappointment. I came to this restaurant for lunch. My crew and i were immediately served with water and a greeting. The gentlemen who were serving us were giving me a great impression. Then along came the woman... She approached our table reeking of cigarettes and with a bad attitude... I asked for bun bo hue (which was on the menu) then she snapped at me saying "WE DONT HAVE THAT". I had placed an order for ice coffee. From all my years of ordering Vietnamese iced coffee, it is brewed from a phin filter and mixed with condensed milk. The iced coffee was instant coffee! I know this because i use Vietnamese instant coffee and i know what it tastes like. The woman asked me, "SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE COFFEE?" with an attitude, and i just shrugged her off not wanting to create any drama.... The food was ok, i ended up with com tam... Not anywhere near as good as food you'd get at Westminster, but A for effort! F for customer service. read more

Honestly I come here once or twice a month after my business meetings and the service is great! I have these two girls help me who are very attentive and remember me by my name. It's kind of hard finding hole in the wall like these. I've had Vietnamese food many times before and I absolutely love the food quality and prices. I always order the chicken curry, extra spicy and a Thai tea (guilty!). I'm not surprised by the positive reviews here because I always experience great service and food. You can tell it's a family own restaurant by the size and warmth from the servers. On another note, I was very upset with my experience on Friday because it didn't match my last few experiences! I was in absolute shock. I didn't come in for lunch after my meetings like usual, (which was probably my mistake to begin with), I came in at night an hour before they closed. I brought a friend with me who lives in the area and we ordered a chicken curry extra spicy and a wonton soup with extra chicken. I heard the bell ringing for quite some time and noticed that the server was on a laptop? The food came out slower than usual and it wasn't even that busy. Literally had ordered our Pho and had it at our table within minutes..as expected compared to all the Vietnamese restaurants I've been to....i tried out their PHO for the first time at this location and loved it! It was very authentic compared to the PHO I've eaten in my hometown in Fresno.. I was glad to find a place as good as what I'm used to eating back home in Fresno. I'd rate the taste and flavor of their PHO 10/10! of course with some hoisen sauce n siracha. This review is based on a phone call I placed to place an order to go. I've also been into the restaurant and the experience was great. So back to the phone call - I called around 5:45pm to place an order of some great Crispy Chicken Wings that they have there. A woman answered the phone and I asked her if I could place an order. She said yes but that she was busy and she had 5 minutes. I asked how many wings come in an order. She replied, "Eight...no six. Hurry up, Hurry up, I have to go". Always such a good experience when eating here! I've come multiple times with different members of my family and every time it's been great. Today I went w/ my sister and our server gave us complimentary jello desserts. How nice!! For my entree I ordered vermicelli with chicken, so good and such good portions. If you notice something is not on the menu or want to modify a dish, ask, they will make sure you get exactly what you want.
