I've been meaning to stop by this place and try it out in person and I finally did. The food tasted even better in person and their menu is very different from all other pho places. When I walked in the restaurant the atmosphere filled with fine, aromatic soup smell right off the bat. As I quickly glanced through their custom menu, I saw some very interesting appetizers others places didn't offer. I went with pho dac biet, spring rolls and steamed wontons. As you can see, I didn't get a chance to take a photo of the Pho, because by the time I remembered, it had already been eaten in my stomach. All the veggies are fresh and healthy. Wish they have an expansion in Los Angeles, because I would eat this everyday. Thank you Jimmy and the staff at I love pho! Makes me remember what soul food tastes like and the feeling of being full.

The food was really good with great flavors, generous portions and reasonable prices. We all agreed it will be our top Vietnamese restaurant to come back to when visiting Camarillo. Some highlights from our meal. The pho broth was rich and topped our list of pho restaurants. The grilled chicken and pork must've been marinated for a long time as the flavors were in every bite of meat and grilling was spot on without being burned. The fish sauce for the vermicelli bowl and broken rice plate was nicely balanced, a tasty pour over for our dishes. The carrots and daikon were sweet and sour without being overpowered by the vinegar. Overall well executed and served meals. Staff were busy but delivered on service. Do note that they add an extra 3% to your check when paying by credit or debit card.

I believe that's why I'm giving this place an extra star. Currently waiting for my food. Let's see how long that takes. My order was placed at 18:27 and I got the combination pho. The ambiance is nice but personally I don't think a pho place should have a bar. I believe it distracts workers from enforcing the quality of the food. Again, that's my personal opinion; I'm not against drinking. (If you're a regular pho person; you know the quieter the pho place, the better!!) Anyways; I'll come back to this review after my order and service has been finalized. The waitress brought me a water with no ice and there's stuff floating in it. I didn't drink it. Update at 18:58. I left without a to-go. The broth was good but I added so much siracha (I love it super spicy) is blinded my taste buds briefly. Something was definitely off about the meat. Perhaps it was old and had been frozen for so long. I'm not sure what it was. The broth was good though! The way the prep they're bowl is aesthetically pleasing so I forgot to taste and when I did, I felt nauseous. I left without leaving a tip because of how long I waited before I was noticed. It wasn't bad at first but i wouldn't go out the way to come back here again. It's a very below mediocre pho spot. I usually go to Oceanside pho bar and grill but that's miles from here so I just needed something to alleviate my pho craving.

We let the group pass us and entered the restaurant. We were promptly seated at a corner table and given menus. It did take a bit for the server to come back to take our order, but we did realize we came in 1/2 hour before closing, so we eased off a bit. My partner order the hot pot and was very happy with his choice. The server came back with a hot plate and instructed us how to cook the meat. I was a bit apprehensive about having to cook my own food, but the fragrant smell as it cooked changed my mind. The broth was flavorful and the veg and meat were tender as they soaked up the soupy goodness. I also ordered the boa buns and the pillowy texture, mixed with the soft pork and crunchy cucumber and carrots made my belly sing. We slurped up our food and cleared out as quickly as we could. I hate being that person that lingers at closing time. What I do regret is that I did not take more time at their counter as we exited because it was full of snacks and curios that I love. Next time for sure!

I hoped at least the BBQ pork Banh Mi would slap, since it's right there in the name, but was disappointed again. It was as if they learned everything they know about Vietnamese cuisine from a dollar store cookbook. BBQ pork tasted like 90s mall teppanyaki, Thai tea was fine, but the boba was undercooked and crumbly in the center.
