I recently got my racket restrung here, and I'm pretty happy with my experience. It's close enough to my home that it's a quick drive for me, so that a major bonus. They were willing to restring within 24 hours which I thought was great, even though I didn't need it. He asked me about strings and tension, which I had no clue about, but he was able to figure out what I had currently and just replicated everything. Perfect! When it came time to pick up my racket, we were cutting it close with the closing time due to traffic. I gave the shop a call and he was happy to stay a few minutes so I could pick up my racket before my match the next day. Thank you!! Total came to $33, which is about what I expected. As far as other products/services... I have found this shop to be less plentiful than Your Serve or other shops. They stock a small offering of tennis outfits (usually full price), tennis shoes, and rackets. They're not big in the "accessories" or "gifts" departments which is most of the time what I'm shopping for. I'll continue driving up to YourServe in Buckhead for those needs. read more

Extremely knowledgeable staff and great local business. My wife and I were just getting into the sport and Dan has walked us through everything from restringing/gripping the racket we had to getting fit for and buying a new one. Super helpful demo program where you can try just about any racket they sell for only $5 over 3 days, then have this money apply to your purchase. Very quick turnaround on stringing and lots of apparel on sale as well. A true family run business and personal experience- love this place! read more

Lots of inventory, plenty of free parking. Standoffish, unhelpful attitude. I came in here to buy - not just to look - and both employees were totally unhelpful. I asked for help figuring out the right item for me, and the response was, "they're over there." I indicated that I was overwhelmed at the selection - I mean, seriously, what's the difference among six similar pairs of white tennis shorts - and the response was a laugh. If a customer asks for help picking a product, it's because he wants to buy something; it's not because he's making conversation. read more

I'm not a tennis player, but this place sure makes me want to start playing! I hang out here at times, since some of my friends work here. From what I have seen, the customers love shopping here and are very loyal to the store. They have a great selection of rackets, tennis gear, shoes, etc.. The customer service is excellent, friendly and helpful. Be sure to ask for Chuck or Matt on the weekends if you go! Like all the other reviews about I Play Tennis...i agree, they string rackets pretty good and fast (only a few days turn around) and the owner Dan is awesome! This part of town really needed a tennis shop, and IPlayTennis is a great fit. They have a nice selection, they do a great stringing job, and have demo rackets. Excellent customer service. The location was kind of small, but they had a variety of racquets, apparel and accessories on hand. What the nicest thing about this place is that for a fee you can demo racquets to see how it feels before you buy one. I was looking for a place to get my racquets restrung and a place that sells grips until I stumbled upon this place. The price was pretty cheap and best of all they had them ready to go by the end of the next day when I dropped it off first thing in the morning. read more

I've been coming here to get my rackets strung for a number of years now. What sets this place apart is the service. The staff is knowledgeable, efficient, and friendly. I have also watched their inventory grow considerably in terms of variety and quality, though I have never bought anything outside of strings. I showed up (unknowingly) before opening last Sunday and the owner allowed me in and took my rackets for stringing. He was as friendly as ever and applied a frequent stringing discount to my job - something I didn't know existed nor did I have to ask for. As I approached the desk the next day to pick up my rackets, despite there being many customers in the store, the owner had my rackets in hand. Just top notch. I don't shop around in terms of stringing prices, but theirs seems to be cheaper than what I was paying at Hardcore Tennis a few years ago. read more

Finally a good intown tennis shop!! I broke some strings today and I was so glad to have a chance to try this place out. They'll string the racket within 24 hours and they're reasonably priced too. It looked like they had a great selection of rackets, shoes & clothes. They were also having some good sales. The service was very friendly too. Thankfully I don't have to trust my poor racket to Sports Authority anymore for their crappy stringing jobs. Finding a great intown place might get me to play tennis more. read more

iPlay Tennis is a great "neighborhood" tennis shop, conveniently located in the Ansley Mall, near Piedmont Park. Dan - the owner is a great guy who gets to know his customers by name. They do a very good job stringing racquets and have a nice selection of racquets and tennis clothes. iPlay also has a great selection of demo racquets. read more

I can't say enough how awful the service was at the Ansley Mall location. I went in feeling very out of place to begin with as I am new to the sport. I agree with the poster who said they just laughed at me and vaguely pointed me in a general direction. One expects a certain level of expertise at specialty stores (otherwise, why not go to a chain or get it cheaper online?) and I found the old man at the Ansley location to be particularly unhelpful. He was also incredibly arrogant, and I wish I'd walked out rather than spending my money there. I was going to write a letter of complaint to the owner, then I found out that the old man IS the owner. I was so excited about starting a new activity and this guy really made what should have been a fun and educational experience tedious and-frankly-a bit humiliating. I actually felt dirty when I left the store. Never going back. read more
