The latest Essential Worker Lunch stop was Ian's. We hadn't done pizza in a while and I thought the others in the office would appreciate their more unusual takes on pizza. I was partly wrong when they mostly ordered--wait for it--pepperoni... I enjoyed my pesto pizza, always appreciate a healthier alternative to red sauce, which is often chock full of sugar (must be why it tastes so good!). Online ordering was a breeze and I decided to go in, even though I selected curbside since I needed to buy a gift card as well. Staff was friendly and accommodating and the pizza was tasty (and reheated quite nicely in a toaster oven, in case you were wondering). But I have to go four stars because of how the order was packaged. I ordered a small pizza, two orders of breadsticks, and then two pairs of slices. The four slices were all packaged together as were all of the breadsticks. You would think that if you're preparing this food with a face mask that it may be conceivable that these items are for different people (as noted in the comments online for each food item) and anything that can help social distancing would be common sense, but apparently you would be wrong. read more

Ian's is VERY hit or miss. I've had some amazing slices and experiences here and I've had some awful ones. Overall they do have unique slices, but be weary if they are sitting out too long. They can be very dry if they have been out for a while. Their standard slices are quite good, and we tried their elotes pizza which is amazing! I hate that they don't label their slices though...it's hard for people with food allergies or if they're really busy having to ask an employee who might not even know. They often times don't have many variations of pizza readily available, especially in the evenings. There was a three week span over the summer where we went a few times and they didn't even have cheese or pepperoni available any of those times. If you're gonna check it out, it's the best before 10pm. After 10 it just gets crazy busy with people looking for drunk eats (can't blame em, it is a great drunk eat!) but they often are slower and have less of a selection available. read more

The Mac & Cheese pizza is one of their staples and it's pretty good. (Buffalo chicken Mac and cheese is better). The price starts skyrocketing when adding more specialty slices so you may be better off just getting a large. (Huge pizza). Re-heats well, too. read more

I'm a total sucker for the carb overload known as mac n cheese pizza. Ditto for those by the slice pizza places a la Sbarro. Blame it on misguided teenage years spent at mall food courts. Needless to say I'm a fan of Ian's. It really helps that it's on it's way to fiserv forum. (And next to Silk if you're into that.) This isnt a fancy place but the service is gruffly friendly. The slice is monstrous but falling short of the "big as a whole pizza" label. It was 4.50 and yes, they take your slice from the pies behind the counter and reheat it in a large pizza oven behind the counter. The mac n cheese was just what I was looking for. Came in at 5:30pm on Saturday when they close at 8pm. They refused to make me one pepperoni pizza. Their reason was because they had too many other pizzas to make. I had my 7 and 5 year old children with me (waiting outside with my wife). Never have I been so straight up disrespected. Close your doors if you're not willing to serve those who walk in. After saying they wouldn't make me a full pepperoni pizza, I started walking towards the door. They frantically tried to sell me the slices they had on the line, none of which equaled a full pepperoni pizza like I requested. Their pizza isn't that great that they can justify treating people like crap for no good reason. My kids won't forget how Ian's treated them. read more

4 stars: Good Service, Good Food, Good Price This is my go-to spot before going to Bucks games. Two slices of Ian's and your tummy is full to cheer on the Bucks. It is located just a couple blocks away from Fiserv Forum and it is a very quick and cheap pizza place where you will be in and out within 15 minutes. I always get the Buffalo Chicken pizza and the BBQ pizza (not sure what it is exactly called), along with Puppy Chow sometimes. Buffalo Chicken: Oh my god, this is probably the BEST blue cheese pizza I have ever had. If you like gorgonzola, you will absolutely love this pizza. They do not cheap out on the amount of gorgonzola they put on these slices and it goes along so well with the buffalo chicken. Just try it yourself, it will not disappoint. BBQ Pizza: Still not sure what this pizza is actually called, but a blend of sauces on top of cheese and chicken is very flavorful and much better than a simple cheese or pepperoni slice. These slices are gigantic so they are well worth the 4 dollars (or 3 if you get the cheese/pepperoni), seriously good price. Puppy Chow: I don't get them all the time but whenever I'm craving for something sweet, these puppy chows will fulfill that. They are pretty standard puppy chows, but you can never go wrong with puppy chows. Service: Pretty standard, I consider it good because they are very fast. You go in, you tell them what you want, they heat the pizza up, you pay and boom, your slices are ready. Overall: These are not the *best* New York slices you will ever taste, but they are pretty darn good for Wisconsin and their price is competitive. Ian's will not disappoint you, and that's pretty much all you should want from a cheap pizza joint. read more

We ordered a large pizza and sticks on a Monday around 5:45pm. Didn't get the cold sticks and cold pizza until after 8. Less than pleased with Nol who answered the phone and had no remorse or idea of where our pizza was other than "we had a mishap but now we're good and it's coming" then hung up on me. We've had better service but I think it's nice to give an honest review when things aren't consistent anymore. read more

I have to say Ian's is in one of the best locations in mke for a pizza joint. My friends and I have been to Ian's so many times for so many different occasions. Whether it's at bar close and we walk over from trinity, someone is craving a quick slice at lunch, we want pizza delivered to the library, Ian's just always seems to hit the spot. And honestly is pretty price comparable to other fast corporate pizza places in the area too! $4 for a large slice of pizza that I'm full after ? Worth it. Some of my favorite slices are the Smokey the bandit, any of the raviolis, and mac n cheese is a classic. Their bread sticks are good too ! I would recommend getting some of the homemade ranch as a side dipping sauce too, it's so good especially with their Smokey the bandit. Usually it's really easy to either order online for delivery or pick up, call ahead and to just walk in and grab it. But if you come during a bar crawl or after bar close good luck because there's always a line out the door (but it's worth the wait I promise) read more

Terrible customer service!!! The employees are extremely rude and so is the management. I'm honestly shocked at how terrible they were. They missed our friends order and then didn't apologize or anything. In fact they were extremely rude about it. While the pizza toppings are fun and interesting, the actual pizza itself isn't anything to write home about either. It's a flat piece of cardboard. read more

My favorite pizza place in Milwaukee or Madison all their pizzas are delicious because I'm greedy I always get two slices but I usually will eat them for two different meals. I typically get a plain cheese slice or sausage / pepperoni slice. I have had the gyro slice and the Mac n cheese all delicious. The bread sticks are also great. Clean bathrooms and the music playing is usually from a pretty good playlist which I am always "Shazam- ing if you like New York style pizza at a reasonable price you can stop and grab a slice or two. I'm a "cheap date" so this could be a spot to take someone if you simply want to hang out without the whole this is date stress. Freakin fire! The Mac n Cheese pizza is absolutely a must try. I love the dough that they use for all their pizzas. Have also had the spinach, kale, feta pesto (I think that was the combo) and the Smokey bandit. Liked the latter more than the other but still solid choices. Also tried the spicy dumpling, which were in a pretty spicy sauce and cooked well. I think the pizza are better, personally, but I like to try multiple things on menus when offered. Because the pizza is delicious, the people are nice and the pizza is delicious (yeah, it's THAT good). Honestly, you're not going to find this type of pizza anywhere else in Milwaukee. Pizza Hut or Domino's? C'mon now. Ian's is the BEST place in Wisconsin to get specialty New York style pizza. Thin crust, giant slices and NEVER GREASY. What more do you need?? I always get two slices, one mac and cheese and one other specialty. The mac and cheese is a MUST and it cannot be overlooked. Other pizzas I have tried include the BBQ chicken, potato, taco and so much more. They try different types throughout the year so the menu is always changing, with some that remain constant. And if pizza ain't your thang, they have puppy chow, breadsticks, churro chow and yummy salads too! 11/10. HIGHLY recommended. read more

I love Ian's so much. I'm not vegan, but I always opt for vegan options because of my dairy intolerance. And they have SO many vegan options. You HAVE to get their vegan breadsticks with the vegan ranch. My boyfriend tried it, and he couldn't tell even tell that it was vegan. And trust me, he always makes it a point to tell me if he can tell. I also tried a slice of their vegan mac and cheese, which was good as well. My favorite, though, is to order sausage pizza with no cheese. I usually order cheeseless pizzas, and it's always a hit or miss at other places. But Ians always makes sure the crust isn't too burnt. Came here with a group of friends. The restaurant did not seem clean. I had to grab napkins to clean our table off, mind you it was not busy at all otherwise I could kind of understand falling behind in the dining room. Then when we went to order I noticed that the workers were NOT wearing gloves when grabbing the pizza, handled cash register, then went to grab more pizza without washing their hands. If I wasn't with a group I would have walked out right then and there. Might have given it 3 stars, but the cleanliness (or lack there of) deserves 0. read more

Ordered delivery from here. Was really hoping to have a delicious pizza for lunch on a lazy Saturday afternoon, all I got was a disappointment. I ordered a 12" pizza with smoked brisket and tater tots, garlic bread sticks and puppy chow. Garlic bread was average, puppy chow was ok. The most disappointing part was the pizza. The brisket meat had a very strong taste of something like kerosene or gasoline. I tried to overlook the flavor since I was hungry. But it was too much to take in. We got a range of slices and a Vegan ShMO whole pizza. Slices were generous in size. All of them were skimpy on the sauce, fairly generous on toppings, overall flavor was good. The vegan ShMO was very creamy with the vegan cheese, as expected. Vegan sausage was pretty good. Overall a good pizza. Pick up was a little crazy. They weren't busy, but were rushing to fill the order, forgot one of the slices and also the churro chow dessert (Chex mix with cinnamon sugar topping). Overall decent. Definitely accustomed to more pizza sauce, good overall flavor, a little more organized on order fulfillment would work. They have a decent pizza product. 4 stars. read more

Back in my young 20s, I'd give this chain a 5 star review because it was my go to after bar food spot and while the lines were long the pizza slice was always worth it and food always tastes better when you're drunk, am I right?!! But alas, I'm older and maybe wiser? Ha ha but a slice from Ian's still brings back memories and it's a quick, convenient spot for a lunch grab. Vegan options. We stopped in to Ian's on Juneau at 10pm on a Friday night hoping to find something before hitting the hat after a long drive. Wow. This place was perfect! First, there were four vegan pies available by the slice that night; I got a piece of the beef taco and chicken taco. Then we also got whole pies of the pepperoni and the Portobello Penne. Turned out, we weren't real interested in the pepperoni - it was pretty meh at best. The Portobello was good at first but we burnt out quick. The beef taco was... pretty good, but the chicken taco, my god! We fought over the piece like raving lunatics! So we ended up ordering a bunch of stuff the following Sunday before we left: chicken taco, Philly Cheesesteak, Macho Nacho, Macadilla Killa and the Gyro. EVERY piece was fantastic. It was just such a great feeling to be in a town that has excellent vegan pizza. We would put this above Pizza Head in St. Louis and we REALLY wish there was something like this in boring old Des Moines! read more

This place is such a fun and unique pizza spot! They offer a wide variety of really cool kinds of slices, and the combinations of toppings are really good! The inside is really nice and there is a lot of seating. They have a cool table with barstools toward the front of the restaurant where you can see the city while you eat. This location (Downtown @ Juneau) made a mistake and more than made up for it, hence this review. I ordered a 20" pie and it never arrived due to the order never having reached the kitchen (an honest mistake). After phoning them, they apologized and rushed the pizza out to us at no charge.
