So I've been intermittent fasting for over a month with some positive results so I decided to treat Wifey & I to a good ol' greasy meal for once! I was really in the mood for a Cheesesteak sandwich and when I saw that IB's opened a new spot on Lakeshore Ave (across from the Cheesesteak shop that I usually frequent of all things!) I decided to try it out through DoorDash. By the way as far as them setting up shop across the street and a few doors down from the Philly Cheesesteak shop well, nothin' wrong with a lil' competition! Perhaps the original spot will step it up and stop selling dry, cheese -less sandwiches but anyway... I ordered the Large Mushroom Cheesesteak Sandwich with Peppers and lemme tell you it was LARGE!! I've read reviews of dry meat well fortunately for me mine was tender with a generous portion size. Also appreciated the amount of cheese melted into the meat, although peppers were not as plentiful as expected but satisfactory. Steak Fries were enjoyed by Wifey with plenty of meat melding with the nacho cheese and sour cream over the fries! Enough to where she saved quite a bit for the next day! My only complaint is the Garlic Onion Rings!! Arriving cold and stale which I would normally charge to delivery time except the sandwich and fries came hot, obviously I got onion rings that were cooked way prior to the other items as well as that "they have been in the freezer too long" taste! Sorry no screenshots because Sandwich & Steak Fries were smackin' and ate up,Garlic Onion Rings trashed! But overall I'm satisfied! read more

It is a hit or miss. There have been times my veggie sandwich was delicious and fresh and my cheese fries were perfect! But once or twice it was a miss. Sandwich was soggy and salty and fries were not quite fried!!! read more

I come to this IB'S Because all the workers treat me right especially my guys Christian and Colin. They always make sure the customer is first in food and hospitality. Excellent food and service in a lively atmosphere. We ordered our food and was served in 15 minutes during peak time. They are equipped for handicap service and all the staff was fast, friendly and efficient. I had the original cheesteak, steak fries and an iced tea. All delicious. The cheesesteak tasted ok, but was too greasy for me. The curly fries were a bit overcooked. I will probably save my gall bladder and not eat here again. I wouldn't necessarily discourage others from eating here though. Just don't think it was something I should be eating, and too hard on my digestive system. read more

I'm not big on leaving reviews but the food and service at this place was too good not to. IBs was recommended to me by a friend who goes to their Berkeley location on Durant quite often and raves about their food. I live closer to the lakeshore store so I decided to pop in and see what the hype is all about. The meat was cooked to perfection, juicy and tasteful. First time coming here & it just may be my last. Got the chopped cheese. Should be called chopped burnt cheese. Meat was burned throughout. Not sure if the griddle is burned or the meat is cooking to fast, but I will pass. Let me go across the street to the original cheesesteak shop. read more

We were walking the lake and we're going to get tacos but decided to do sandwiches again and happy we did. The guy taking our order seemed a little sleepy haha we just had a hard time hearing him and he talked to us like we'd been there before and couldn't figure out that it was our first time cause we continued to ask for clarification anything we ordered something. But 4 stars, the sandwiches were delicious, he got our order right, we got to sit outside and enjoy our food and hardly waiting for hot, fresh sandwiches. I got the Buffalo chicken sandwich but the meat was different, it was good, but I didn't understand why the chicken was like this. My partner got a steak cheese sandwich and it was delicious. I didn't finish my sandwich and took it home, heated it up in the toaster oven and it was so good, glad I took it home. We got garlic fries as well and it was delicious, not too much garlic. Back back when this place was downtown it was second best to the place on 21st. Unfortunately, when they moved up the hill they went down in the quality of their taste. I can understand why they're popular to people coming out of a bar who are too drunk to actually notice the taste and focus on the fact that the sandwich is a mile long.
