Amazinggggg sandwiches!!! I got the truffle steak with chicken and it's such amazing quality. Best cheesesteak I've had in a while. Delicious juicy meat. perfect amount of meat, cheese and truffle sauce. So flavorful and the bread is toasted to perfection. Also got some honey garlic wings and they're straight fire. I went to their brand-new restaurant that opened up in Lakeshore! DELICIOUS burgers!!! I had a swiss mushroom burger with shrimp fries, everything was perfectly seasoned (nothing was too bland or too salty) which was surprising given that the burger had so much going on LOL it was huge! Went to ib's again a couple of days ago i wanted to change it up so i got an avogobble with extra meat and a combo with waffle fries! The sandwich was a hot turkey sandwich with avocado the turkey was juicy it paired really well with the cheddar cheese the wait was at a minimum as usual! The service was very good usual greeted the moment i walk in the door i wanted a bit of time to check out the menu and they made sure when i was ready they were there at the register ready to take my order! I hadn't been to IB's since I was at Cal and my impression of it then was that it was pretty mediocre. It's still kinda that! But a little bit better than I remembered and definitely better than the other cheesesteak place on lakeshore. I got the pepper ib sandwich, whatever it was called.. I was craving a cheese steak and I SOOO wish I had just gone to the cheese steak shop up the dang street! It was completely soggy and literally falling apart! I had to eat it in small sections..like there was no point in even trying to cut the sandwich because it was just falling apart everywhere. I expected the peppers to be like the sweet/hot peppers typically found on cheese steaks but nope! The service was fine. Nothing special. It wasn't busy so it came up pretty quick. Parking sucks on that corner so it seems more of somewhere you'd go if you just happened to be walking by if anything. I don't understand how anyone could crave this sandwich, so I will be going to cheese steak shop from now on. Every restaurant can occasionally serve a bad meal. But this place has a systemic flaw which guarantees your fries will be cold and soggy every single time. They put fries which have been sitting out for way too long in the bottom of your basket. Then they add a tong-full of fresh fries on top so you think they'll be good. I've watched them do it time and again. You eat 5 or 6 fresh fries and the rest are horrible. One day I saw someone send them back and the mgr said "Nobody else complains". I tried the pepper cheesesteak because I had heard their cheesesteaks were good. Brought it home and Holy Moly this sandwich is inedible because it is SO salty! I could get by the gristly beef but the salt was simply overpowering. I had to throw the sandwich away after two bites! Staff and service are fine but wow better ask for no salt if you eat here! Cheesesteak was pretty damn good. I am used to the Cheese Steak Shop ones and believe this provides competition. Curly fries are the classic, delish curly fries. I also got popcorn chicken, which was also good BUT $10 was a little steep for regular sized popcorn chicken...the only other qualm I had is lettuce on a cheesesteak. This place always has ordering issues when ordering online. I have ordered multiple items in the past and they claim it's ready in 15 min. Sometimes the orders get "lost" in the system, and they would only start working on the order when I would get there and they are scrambling to find my order. I went and ordered something today, and was rudely told by the cashier that I did not pay my order in full. I again ordered online and was told to pay up. This person tried pinning it on me that there was something wrong with my card. I called Amex and they confirmed that there isn't anything wrong with my card. I personally don't get the hubub about IB's. I first tried them via delivery from the Durant location a few weeks ago- The mushroom steak with the works. I got it and was disappointed. Sloppy and has a burnt taste with very bland steak. I chalked it up to 1) via delivery 2) maybe I don't need the works. I was in my old Grand Lake/Lakeshore stomping ground last night and saw IB's. One I'm VERY surprised the city allowed another cheesesteak shop on the same block as another established cheesesteak place- but hey, whatever. Besides it was after 9. Late for Oakland food options. This time I get a large mushroom, fries and mango habanero wings. The large is LARGE. I'm a big guy and I thought the regular would have left me craving. The large can serve 3 people easily. I still have more than half left over. I ordered just meat, cheese and I thought onions. I didn't taste much cheese. I think there was some in there. The steak again is very bland. Beef doesn't need much, just salt and pepper. There was none of that steak juciness I'm used to in a cheesesteak. Again, had a faint charred taste. The fries are great and you get a lot. The wings are breaded then sauced, not my style. Everything is nicely presented (PLUS ++). The service was good. The folks were nice and efficient- just not my taste. For my cheesesteak hankerings, I'll continue to go to the place across the street ( and other east bay locations) that I've eaten all my life. Maybe I'll try a burger, fries and a shake next time. I can deal with that char taste on a burger. In the meantime, I'll add some salt, pepper, and some left over baby bellos and Havarti cheese I have in the fridge to try and salvage this other HUGE half I have left ovrer. read more

Ib's is one of my all time favorite places to go to. My favorite is the Cookies Cheesesteak because first off its COOKIES and on top of that it looks smack. If you from the bay and still haven't came here. Are you even from the bay? There's another location in Berkeley that is bomb asf too.
