Theres a few tables out front but if you get lucky enough to get a parking spot close, just bust that ho open and throw down on the trunk. Menu is halal and options are extensive. While the sandwiches may seem pricey, the portion sizes make up for it -- the large can easily feed 2-3 people. For my first visit, I tried the garlic steak cheesesteak (regular size). The flavors were good, but I thought there was a bit too much honey garlic sauce, making the sandwich a little too sweet for my taste. That said, it still came together nicely. I can barely taste the sauces or cheese; it tastes very much like meat and lettuce. The regular size is huge enough to share amongst two people. Garlic house cut fries $5 (4/5): This was good and tasted better than the sandwich. It was crispy but did sog after a bit of time. This only had minced garlic on fries so don't expect it to taste of buttery garlic with cheese shreds. Eating it with ranch did enhance it Sweet chili wings $8 (4/5): Ironically enough this tasted a whole lot better than the sandwich. It was crispy and juicy. The flavor was good and not overwhelming. $8 to feed me with 5 wings would be enough to keep me full. I think this would be a great late-night place for drunk food, maybe I didn't get the right cheesesteak however pretty satisfied with everything else but the sandwich. Please do not dine here! Extremely poor management and cleanliness standards. In addition to treating their employees very poorly, they cut corners around food safety. They need a food code inspection expeditiously - their food will make you sick! Edit 9/22: I am not, nor have I ever been an employee at this establishment. I am a long time resident of the area and customer who has seen the ways in which employees are spoken to and treated. Additionally, lack of washing hands, no glove changes between handling money and food, and coughing/sneezing over the grill doesn't seem food safe to me. IB's has been on my radar for quite sometime and I happened to be in the area so I most definitely had to stop by. I got there right when they opened so I didn't have to deal with any crowds and I was able to take my time browsing the menu. The menu is pretty large! They have about 12 different cheesesteaks that they offer along with burgers, loaded fries, sandwiches and chicken wings. I came specifically for the Chopped Cheese which is an NY staple, so hard to find a place in California that serves this. The Chopped Cheese is a chopped beef patty with onions, cheese, lettuce, ketchup and mayo. The sandwich was cooked to order and it was amazing, the meat was very flavorful, juicy and seasoned well. The bread was also amazing and it held up well with all of the toppings and did not get soggy. However I did not like how the lettuce was super wilted, but other than that the sandwich was great. It was also pretty big and was only $13. FYI they also usually have a special sandwich or burger that's created by local Bay Area celebs. The special they had when I visited was the "Cookies Cheesesteak" created by rapper and Cookies founder Berner. Food took a long time to prepare though There is no seating there, so most people take out. If you are visiting the area, you can take it to go and eat at UCB campus just down the street. FOOD: I really enjoyed the fries, they were flavor-packed and soft which is my kind of style.
