Disclaimer, I'm from South Texas so it could just be different from home. But dripping in grease and chunks of fat in the barbacoa are definitely not my thing. The menudo was decent, needed to add some salt so kinda blande. Overall I wouldn't go out of my way for to come back. read more

I know I said I would be back to try other dishes but the menudo has me tied. I always come here with the pure intention of trying a new dish and never do. The menudo with pata, the pata being so soft so full of flavor, collagen oh my so delicious the hominy perfect addition to a flavorful soup. If I lived closer I would be here at least once a week. My coffee cup never ran dry. I had the chilaquiles with refried beans and it was among the best I've ever had. Served on a piping Hot plate, with some delicious salsa on the side, this wonderful breakfast met all my needs. They also offer some takeout options as well as pan dulces for your sweet tooth. Wife and I were looking for some good Mexican breakfast and found this place. Walked in and looked around and saw about 6 tables. Maribel, I think that's her name asked if we were eating there and said we can sit anywhere we like. Grab a table and I was craving some huevos rancheros so ordered that and wife got the tamale plate with rice and beans. Man this place did not disappoint! To start, the service is absolutely amazing. Our waitress was extremely personable and took care of my group and I in a way I haven't seen happen since the COVID-19 outbreak. Ordered Ibarra's through UberEats and I was really surprised by how much I liked it. Minus all the additional fees that get tacked on with UberEats, Ibarra's prices were really reasonable for the portions and quality of food we got. Since they make their own flour tortillas, I strongly suggest ordering something that utilizes them. I wasn't a fan of the corn tortillas they used, so I'd pass on those. The barbacoa quesadilla plate was my favourite out of everything. Fresh tortilla with a hefty portion of meat and cheese, can't go wrong with that. The barbacoa wasn't too fatty either, which was a win for me. I did avoid the beans they came with though, since they tasted a bit funky. Almost like the fat they used was a bit off? When it comes to their tacos, the carne guisada on flour is the way to go. The stew was really well flavoured and the meat was tender. The juiciness of the stew also flavoured the tortilla, so it held up really well during delivery. The bacon and egg taco on flour was a bit dry, but their salsa made up for the downfall. It was still really enjoyable, especially since the bacon stayed crispy. Worth noting we were still able to get these breakfast tacos around 2-3pm, so I'm assuming there's no time limitation on these. The carne asada was just okay, but I'll have to try it again on flour before having a solid opinion on it. I was so disappointed by the corn tortilla, I think it clouded my vision a bit. As far as salsa goes, we were only given red salsas. We asked for both red and green if they had them, so my assumption is that they only have red. It wasn't really spicy at all, but it had a good taste to it. Complimented basically everything, but the carne guisada was completely fine without it. read more

So far I've gotten take out for breakfast, have ordered a variety of egg+various options taco and burrito. I have always grown up eating authentic mexican breakfast from home with fresh flour tortillas and haven't been to places that come close to that as this place. It's just a friendly neighborhood staple where locals go for food, masa (tamale dough) and corn tortillas - best in town. There is no other place in DFW where I buy corn tortillas.
