We decided to give this place a try after seeing all the good reviews, and I'm glad we did! Carnitas Loaded Fries - 4.5/5. Generous toppings, tasty overall, but the fries needed more salt. Taco Plate (Carnitas & Carne Asada) - 4/5. The meat was flavorful, but I wasn't a fan of the beans. Everything else was solid. Monster Burrito - 5/5. This beast was about a foot long and close to 3 lbs. My kid (who usually eats like it's an Olympic sport) couldn't finish it in one sitting. Massive and delicious! I saw Papi was advertising Birria Nachos. That sounded delicious so, I made arrangements to eat here. It was worth it! The Nachos were enormous. The Tortilla Chips were freshly made. I think that's why it took 30 minutes? My Nachos included White Queso, Birria, Cilantro, Onions, shredded Cheese and Guacamole. They also included a side of consomme sauce. I would definitely recommend Papis Tacos. The Nachos were fresh and loaded with toppings. They are on the pricey but, they serve a lot of people. So get to Papi's soon! read more

We shared the loaded fries which I would order again but would ask for queso instead of shredded cheese. This is a cute little restaurant right off Alta Mere, love the murals and the outdoor space. Service was great, fast and accurate, place was bigger than the pics, clean and colorful. The food was good especially the birria ramen rich and flavorful. Chips were fresh and crispy not a huge fan of the salsa, green salsa (both tomatillo and creamy green) were great, the red sauce is made with chipotle which I'm not a fan. The Gordita being my usual Mexican favorite wasn't the best but adding the sauce helped lots. I will definitely go back to try other items. I have eaten here twice in the last month and the food is really good. The birria is excellent and full of flavor. I also tried the new birria egg rolls and they were also very tasty. Rice and beans are on point. They also have really good nachos. When they came out, I noticed it had shredded cheese but it wasn't melted. I've never had nachos that didn't have melted cheese before but these definitely didn't disappoint. I had carne asada and it could have been a meal by itself. Found this place on instagram and with so many taco places, this one seemed a bit more enticing than others. Stopped in on 2/3/24 for a late lunch and was surprised at how busy they were. That let me know I wouldn't be disappointed. I had been craving sopes but also wanted tacos and kiddos were wanting birria tacos. We ordered 3 birria taco plates, 2 asada tacos, a carnitas taco, and a chicken sope, a Mexican cokes and Jarritos. I loved the variety of meat, menu items, as well as drink however, I was surprised there was no pastor meat as an option. It's okay that there wasn't, it's just usually my go to. The wait was a bit slower that I'd expect from a taco place but everything was fresh and made to order so I'm more than happy to wait. Birria came out first followed by my tacos. I was shorted 2 tacos and this was a challenged to get because the cashier was sure I only ordered 2 (the sope and taco). I'm guessing they were missed and had to wait a bit for the rest of my food. Birria tacos were legit. Crispy, full of meat, and deep flavors. The sope reminded me of how my late grandma made them and took me back. Tacos were delicious as well. The carnitas were a bit overly greasy but nonetheless, good. Asada tacos were amazing. Meat was cooked perfectly and a slight char from the grill took them to another level! This is an order and seat yourself place and space is limited but there is a small patio outside as well. All in all, outstanding place. We will most definitely be back and this may become our new go-to weekend spot. My reasoning for the 4 stars was strictly based on service. Cashier wasn't very friendly and had to flag someone down for the tacos I was missing. We only saw the one girl at the front - which she was also taking plates to the tables when orders were done.
