Food was amazing service was great and the ambiance might have been better if more people were there

Did a Yelp search for best breakfast tacos in the Stockyards and Dos Molina's popped up so off I went. I wanted two of my go-tacos, bean, bacon, chz and cilantro so that's what I ordered. Lady said they only got burritos. I asked how big and she said "about this big" holding up two finger about 4" apart. I said good and ordered up. I should have been worried when the two range up at $14.00. But oh well. So when they handed me the bag, I thought this ain't good as it was heavy. Very heavy. When I got to a place to take a bite I could it was truly a burrito. Huge. And I got two. So I dove in and could only manage about 1/3 of it. As the day went on, I'd take a bite and move on. Finally finished it off around 4:00. And that was lunch too. The other I got for the next morning, or day as most likely. As for the taste, spot on. All homemade. Beans and tortillas that is. Big chunks of bacon and fresh cilantro. Super good. Tortillas were home made and thick. That was different - very filling in their own, but very good. read more

There is a list available online that you can put in the restaurant and get results I always ask ChatGPT and she finds it easily for me. We drove about 20 minutes to come here for breakfast and left pretty disappointed. After we sat down and placed our order, our waitress came back a few minutes later to tell us they were out of pancakes. We asked if we could substitute potatoes instead (we were even willing to pay for them), but were told no. The waitress checked with the owner, who also refused. To make matters worse, we were still charged for chips and hot sauce, which added to the frustration given the situation. We had actually decided to give this place another chance despite previous concerns, but this experience confirmed our hesitation. I understand that restaurants run out of items, but the way this was handled showed very little flexibility or consideration for the customer. A simple substitution or small accommodation would have made a big difference. Unfortunately, this visit felt more about rigid rules than good customer service. read more

The food at Dos Molinas is always delicious. I love their breakfast. handmade tortillas, chorizo, huevos rancheros, the best carne guisada etc etc. It is always busy but the wait usually isn't too bad and it is worth it. Fast service. This little hole in the wall Mexican restaurant in the North Side is the best! You can't go wrong with any meal here. I had breakfast during this visit. I had potato and egg and ham. The eggs and potatoes were tasty. The ham was nicely grilled. My favorite thing here are their freshly made tortillas. They rival my mom's tortillas. This place is always super bust so expect to wait. But, it is worth the wait. Parking is limited. There is a larger lot in the back. read more

The man who greeted us at the door was so kind and helpful. However everything went wrong after sitting down. I ordered using this picture from the website because I have never been in and knew I just wanted some street style tacos. Once I received the tacos they were nothing like the photo and included rice and beans. She also failed to mention they had no limes and brought me a lemon instead. Then the queso we ordered had to be requested again after going up to get our server. She never refilled our water or chips. It was overall just rather disappointing. This is the first authentic Mexican restaurant I've found in Fort Worth. We went on a Sunday around noon and it was very crowded. The restaurant looks like a converted home so there wasn't a lot of space to wait, however the wait ended up being only about 15 minutes. The food was wonderful and service was fast. We each got the eggs and bacon that is served with refried beans and two of their massive homemade flour tortillas! OMG! The whole plate was just under $7 and we could have shared! Very generous portions for the price! The complimentary chips (very lightly salted= my preference) & salsa were also really good. The service was good. The place was crowded on a Saturday morning so we had to wait about 15 minutes but it was worth it. We checked out the menu while we waited. Oh Yes! This is just one more reason why I love Ft Worth...under the top layer of gentrification,you can still find the real deal. Going going gone is the mantra chanted by those hardy adventurous souls that don't want the latest chef driven breakfast for $30( Ft Worth has those too). My man crush and I were in Fort Worth for the weekend and looking for a place to have lunch on our way out. The parking lot was packed at Dos Molina's which is usually a good sign. Despite the crowded lot, we were able to be seated within 5 minutes. The chips and salsa were very good and addictive. I ordered the cheese enchiladas topped with chili con carne and guisada beef tips and my man crush ordered the chicken enchiladas. Both plates came with rice and beans. The food was steaming hot and so delicious! The guisada beef tips were AMAZING...so tender and flavorful. I'm kicking myself for not bringing an order of that home! The prices were very reasonable and the service was good. It was a bit warm in the restaurant; however, we would definitely go back. read more

I had read good reviews about Dos Molinas so after a trip to Second Rodeo Brewery, we decided to give it a try. It was everything I'd hoped for from nice crispy (non greasy) chips, excellent salsa, and the mom and pop dive feel I love in a Mexican restaurant. I had Enchiladas Verdes and hubby had tacos Al carbon. Both were excellent. The beans were outstanding. The service was slow, but friendly. They do have a service charge on credit cards. I heard about this place for years, and every time I drove by it, the place was busy and I never did stop there. So when I finally decided to try it, I was expecting it to be really good, and I wasn't disappointed. I ordered the spicy Chile Verde which is one of my favorite Mexican dishes, this one was really good. The Verde sauce was very flavorful with just the right amount of heat and the pork was very tender, I also liked their beans and rice. After all the hype over the years I'd say this place didn't disappoint but not sure it lived up to the hype, that being said I will definitely be back to try the Roja and breakfast. An underrated Tex-Mex gem, Dos Molina's is classic comfort and the perfect option for anyone looking for a true taste of the Northside. We stopped in for lunch on a Saturday and immediately felt at home in their cozy dining room. Her papas con huevo were delicious, while my favorite chile relleno was probably the best in town (which is saying something). And the fresh homemade tortillas were so good, we took the leftovers wrapped in foil with us. I have been coming here for at least 25 years....I actually used to see the owner every morning as a teen working at an area grocery store. He'd come in daily for fresh produce. He has since passed but his restaurant continued to bring tons of people in. My fav is breakfast...chilaquiles. They are my absolute favorite and the fresh, thick, fluffy, warm flour tortillas are to die for. My daughter loves that they have fountain Big Red! Lol. Parking is terrible and is just a couple blocks from the stockyards. Good hole-in-the-wall with friendly service, big portions, and great prices! We wanted some authentic Tex Mex after spending the day at the stockyards. This was pretty good! The chips were probably my least favorite part of the meal. I wasn't even sure they were homemade. Good salsa, though. Two kids shared the shredded beef tostadas. They were piled high with meat and veggies. Such a good deal. Another kid devoured his beef taco. Great rice and beans! I got the Tex Mex enchiladas and they were good, but the enchilada sauce was a little too chili powder-ish for me. Lastly, almost every single table I saw ordered tortillas a la carte, so I knew I needed to do the same. Especially since they looked homemade! Well, they *are* homemade and they are bomb. So tasty! It's as good as I remember! Dos Molinas is a family-owned faith business and my family loves it here too. The service and prices are excellent! They are overachievers with a servant's heart. Your blazing hot plate will be ready in minutes! Dos Molinas is conveniently located. It is on the edge of the historic Stockyards. If you can find Billy Bobs you can find this place. There's a pothole in the parking lot that has been there since I was in High School! Lol. Ample parking spaces are available. However, spaces fill quickly. Sometimes customers park in the middle or around the edge of the parking lot. A young Hostess, who was wearing a nightmare on Elm Street tee was ready to serve. While waiting for my cousins, the Owner's son greeted me very enthusiastically. An elderly woman, who rocked a bun in her hair greeted her pioneer customers with a social distance hug. There was one customer who carried her oxygen tank. How wonderful it is to see the love in the air, especially when we are in the peak season of the Corona Virus. There's nothing like the hospitality of the Molinas. Our server was Jonathan. He went the extra mile for my family and I. Jonathan transferred all my stuff over to a non-wobbly table with ease. Jon was a believer and he wore his faith in a shiny Sterling silver ring ,that he made in High School. El Padre Nuestro was inscribed on it. That means Our Father. Jonathan kept the refills coming and had our to-go order and plates ready. Chicken Enchiladas with Sour cream is a traditional favorite. Sour cream was warm creamy and overflowing topped with a few jalapenos that resembled a sad face. However, it did not bring a sad face to me. Lol. They were packed with semi fresh shredded chicken. The beans were tasty and we're given in a double portion! My rice was just ok. I was expecting better. Dos Molina's creates a home-like feel with squeaky floors. However, I've noticed some renovations. New light fixtures and TV s have been installed. The TVs are in just the right spot for viewing. A colorful lively mural was painted in the restaurant, which created an atmosphere of depth and space. The mural consisted of Corinthian Columns and arches. Tall tree shrubs and large Mexican vases are prominent too. There were beautiful accent lights that beamed of the mural for a beautiful finishing touch. Do you wanna support believers in business? My family has always liked Dos Molinas. They have fresh flour tortillas that are so good. The hot sauce is usually a hit or miss. Sometimes it just tastes like tomatoes not salsa. Love their sour cream chicken enchiladas, we get a side of chile verde to add on top also. They also have some nachos, can't remember the name but they are pretty loaded and sooo good. Wait staff is always pleasant and kind. Sometimes they even have mariachi. My only complaint is they don't have Splenda as a sweetener for the unsweet tea or ranch (I like it with my papas when I have breakfast). So I usually have to take my own. We were able to get a table for 10 people right away. Food was Tex-Mex style, with a little more authentic flare. The table salsa was a little spicy for a few of us. I had the mango margarita, it wasn't my favorite but the food was really good! I tried the cheese enchilada with green sauce. I loved the green enchilada sauce & the bean tostada was really good with tomatoes, lettuce, guac, & sour cream on top. The beef enchiladas with red sauce was good. The chicken enchilada with the sour cream sauce was not spicy & one friend thought it had great flavor, the other friend wished it had more spice. Plenty of chicken in the enchiladas as well. The Ryan Carne Asada's was yummy, quantity of food was good, portion size was good. Kids enchiladas were really good & the size was very fair for a kids portion. Chicken Flautas were really crispy & had great flavor. The rice one of my favorites I've had in a while! Dos Molina's provides large portions of home-cooking flavored Mexican food, reminiscent of meals I had while enjoying the hospitality of local people in Texas border towns. I have been here twice, both times invited by a friend of Mexican descent who is fond of saying "If you want to know where the best Mexican food is, go to the place that's full of Mexican people." I think the problem for me at Dos Molina's is that it may be too authentic for my palate. The food tastes bland to me, from the salsa to the main courses I've tried. Be that as it may, it does not seem to bother the copious customers in this busy eatery. The one exception to blandness is the refried beans, which I normally skip. Here, they are smooth and full of flavor and I devoured them happily. The guy sitting next to me has owned and managed restaurants and said the secret ingredient in the beans is *bacon grease* (not confirmed). No wonder, but wow. Cholesterol bomb. The front waiting area is small and has been packed both times we came. Mariachis play live in both dining rooms on Sundays. The space is quite small, making the trumpet ear-splittingly loud. Once I got used it, it was bearable. But, talking was impossible. The singers were notably good. Service is very good, with drinks being refreshed regularly, food brought out hot and without waiting. So, generally a good experience, though loud when the mariachis play, and the food is authentic if a bit low on flavor. read more

The service was good but the owner displayed very desperate and unprofessional behaviors. There were 2 in our party and we split a breakfast burrito. Upon receiving the bill we were told we were going to be charged $5.00 for chips and salsa (that we didn't ask for nor eat) because we only ordered 1 meal. The desperation of the owner is ridiculous. Upon leaving we asked her to show us on the menu where this was written. She pretended to look for it without success and then did not offer to refund the money. We will never be back to an establishment that takes advantage of people and especially Latinos who are trying to support each other. Very disappointed! Beware of being nickled and dimed. read more
