We had a bad meal at the Ice House. Service was friendly but none of our food was very good. The brisket was served at room temperature -- essentially cold food. The beer came in awkward, thin plastic drinkware and our sides were unauthentic innovations in small over spiced servings. The Ice House is not a good representative to out of state visitors of our Texas signature meal. read more

Went with small group of friends, rented a golf bay for 2 hours. Restaurant was not busy, middle of Saturday afternoon. Service very very slow. No instructions on how to use / set up system to golf. Took forever for waitress to come and take drink orders. Service very slow throughout the entire time. They had special for drinks listed when you entered restaurant. At bill time, she then said no that didn't apply as they don't have those beers on draft. Signage clearly said drafts, wouldn't adjust bill. Never again! Will gladly spend my $$$ at Top Golf. They know how to treat their patrons. read more

My first time at the Ice House at PGA Frisco for lunch today. The Ice House is a ranch inspired casual restaurant centered on BBQ but also shareables, burgers and salads. I was having trouble as I wanted to try serval things but narrowed it down to the smoked ribs (includes cornbread & a relish of bread & butter pickles, onions and fresh jalapeños) with sides of spicy fried okra and campfire beans. The ribs looked good when they were brought out to me but with the first bite I was surprised how great they were! They were everything I like in a rib fall off the bone tender, moist and a nice rub (not too sweet/sticky). The fried okra was dusted with a spicy BBQ rub and were very addictive. The campfire beans were on point with a nice spicy/smoky flavor. I'm really not a big fan of sweet cornbread but it was very subtle and I enjoyed it. The relish is not your average pickles onions and jalapeños I'm not sure what all is going on here but it's greatness. I mentioned how I really love the Frito pie along the way and out from the kitchen came a sample of their Frito pie (brisket chili, Fritos, cheese and jalapeños) and it was great as well. Had lunch at the bar with a buddy on a warm winter weekday right before New Years. The place was packed with people, mostly sitting outside. Nonetheless the service was pretty fast, barmaid-waitress very friendly. Had the sausage BBQ plate. Hot, tasted very good. read more

I've been to a couple different bbq areas in the area and this is by far the best!! The service is amazing, the brisket was melt in your mouth delicious, the tin can nachos were a crowd pleaser with our kids! The menu has a good variety to please picky kids as well! Definitely our new bbq spot! The outside patio is amazing and has cornhole and the overall vibe is fantastic. Service is terrible. Its masters weekend and perfect weather so we thought this would be the perfect place to go. There were a ton of open tables but they told us there was a wait so we could try another restaurant in the area if we wanted. We decided to put our name on list and grab a drink at the bar. Again open seats at the bar but still couldn't get a drink. The bartender was ridiculously slow and rude. Can't speak on the food or drinks because we just ended up leaving. You would think at 1:00pm on a Friday they would have it together. Can't imagine what the weekend looks like. read more

Checked out the Ice House at PGA with my sister and it didn't disappoint. We went for lunch and decided to eat a lighter meal and got the quesadilla with a side of watermelon and tajin and ordered the Frozen Fields Margarita & the Dirty Shirley. Fun loving casual atmosphere with PGA corporate in the background. Hostess podium is to the far right which we didn't see at first. Plenty of seating outdoors. Hot day so we sat inside. Not a lot of seating indoors. Nice bar and TV's. Our waitress was very attentive. Quesadillas were to die for. Smoked meat plenty of cheese. The food was good but way over priced. I ordered a Jack and Diet double tall, $20. But the worst part is they told us they could NOT. Have more than 3 checks per table, we had 2 couples and 4 single people, so each couple got a check, than all singles on one check leaving us to devide it up, They also charged a 20% tip to EVERYONE, even those with only 2 people on the check, So it really doesn't matter how the service is, you're going to be charged a 20%. No real incentive for good service. Not a place I will recommend to anyone around, especially to all my single friends wanting to enjoy an evening with friends, but not wanting them to be stuck with the bill. Even the manager was not. Love the Omni Frisco PGA - world class. I've eaten at the Ice House 3 times. Service and food was always top notch. Also Swing, 10 hole par 3 course is super fun. I recommend this to all my golfing friends and families. Great evening of laughs, great food and fun golf course!! Corporate outing is next step. read more

Update. Manger offered us 2 meals on them. I haven't taken them up on that as I'm not looking for a free ticket. I went there today with friends again and just asked the hostess (after waiting for over 8 min to be acknowledged) if their frozen drink machines were all working today. She looked at me dumbfounded. My husband asked if they had frozen margaritas. Again she had no idea what we were talking about. I immediately just said forget it. And we left. Went to the lounge at top golf. Much better experience there!!! I'm over this place. Sent manager an email to notify him of experience as well and he didn't respond. Don't waste your time. read more

Came in Friday night to visit PGA for the first time with a friend visiting from Houston. Once we went up to the host stand I said "just 2 please" and one of the hostesses quickly said "THE KITCHEN IS CLOSED" (we just wanted to have a drink outside, (like everyone else who was already outside) servers were annoyed that we just wanted to drink. I work in food service and the attitude was just very weird. We came at 10, and they don't close until 1 am. Luckily our server was super nice although I forgot her name.
